The Return of the Black Death
The Houston Courant ^ | October 17th, 2019 | W. Hillman

The clown show known as the Democratic Presidential debates has given us a sneak preview of our future government. There are a few things all the candidates agree on, open borders with mass immigration, an insanely increased welfare state, massive tax increases on the middle class, and an omnipotent government. All are fighting for the support of the socialist extreme of their party.

This endorsement of socialism and extreme progressivism will either be devastating for the Democratic Party or our Republic. Never has generous welfare and open borders succeeded. In years past, I would point to the European countries as examples, but now we can look inside our own borders.

We are hanging on by a thread. The demographic changes through immigration has California past the point of no return and Texas moving purple and trending blue. When Texas flips, we will be under one party rule. Prepare for a drastic and jolting shift to the left.

Great piece, well worth reading. Thanks for posting the lead-in to it.

This would be the Hard Left turn that I feared would happen if McGovern was elected in 1972.

Who wants to live in a country that becomes a thousand San Franciscos led by socialist phonies like the high school librarian, Elizabeth Warren? I was in California a lot this year; a beautiful state that is clearly tattered. No infrastructure has been built for 30 years other than crazy things like the $ 9 billion spent on the railroad to nowhere. Was talking to an Hispanic friend who grew up in the Bay area and is out in the suburbs; he said he no longer goes into SFO because of the filth and the odor; I replied that he is also avoiding the pandemics that are certain to occur when you have trash and human waste on the sidewalks, used needles, and a total lack of sanitation. Sad, but the more I think of it, we would be better off if coastal California, Oregon and Washington left the US and took the crackhead leftists with them.

“No infrastructure has been built for 30 years other than crazy things like the $ 9 billion spent on the railroad to nowhere.“

That’s not entirely accurate. Massive road building projects have taken place during that time. Major bridges have been built or are under construction (not always with the greatest success in some cases). The infrastructure for high speed internet didn’t even exist thirty years ago. Near where I live whole new communities have been built with the requisite power and sewage systems.

There are enough examples of how this state is screwed up without having to exaggerate.

I've already made peace with it. It was inevitable. The constitution can only work with a people who voluntarily submit themselves to God (the true God in the Bible). Tyranny is that natural outworking of rejecting God, and our nation now has.

But when they said, “Give us a king to judge us,” their demand was displeasing in the sight of Samuel; so he prayed to the LORD. And the LORD said to Samuel, “Listen to the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected Me as their king".

1 Samuel 8:7
