President Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani tore into CNN's Chris Cuomo during an interview Thursday night, calling the CNN host a "sellout" during a contentious exchange over Giuliani's efforts to get Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden. Giuliani accused Cuomo of being "totally biased" during a heated back-and-forth after the Trump lawyer denied that he had asked Ukraine to look into Biden before seconds later acknowledging that "of course" he had asked for such a review. "You're trying to distort what I'm saying because you're totally biased," Giuliani argued over pushback from the CNN host. "You are, Chris. It's...

VERY brief vanity | 9/20/2019 | By Laz A. Mataz
Apologize for such a short vanity, but I want to express a thought that is distressing me a lot: In the era of Obama, I worried about new and restrictive gun control laws, and none came. Yet... In the era of Trump, I was sure new and restrictive gun control laws would not come, but now I have to worry about them. It boggles the mind.

Researchers from Arizona State University and Texas A&M University questioned 462 financial journalists around the country. They followed up with 18 additional interviews. The journalists worked for the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Washington Post, Associated Press and a number of other newspapers. What they found surprised them. Even the supposedly hard-nosed financial reporters were overwhelmingly liberal . Of the 462 people surveyed, 17.63% called themselves "very liberal," while 40.84% described themselves as "somewhat liberal." When you add it up, 58.47% admit to being left of center. Along with that, another 37.12% claim to be "moderate." What about...

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has forced Christian churches across Henan province to replace the Ten Commandments with quotes from President Xi Jinping in its latest effort to “sinicize” religious practice in the officially atheist country. One pastor from a state-run Protestant church said that the CCP’s latest move is part of a systematic plan to erode Christian doctrine in the country, adding that the ultimate goal of the party is to “become God.” “The government’s first step is to prohibit religious couplets” said the pastor, who spoke under the condition of anonymity. “Then it dismantles crosses and starts to...

On Sunday, September 15, Marie-Ange Brumelot had just crested a hill in Central Park on her third and final lap of an 18-mile race hosted by the New York Road Runners. At that point, she spotted her husband, Luciano Medina, ahead of her. “I didn’t realize he was in the lead,” Brumelot, 26 of the Bronx, told Runner’s World. “There were nearly 5,000 runners participating, running anything from six minutes to 14 minutes per mile, so we were lapping people. Of course I wanted to catch him.” Brumelot, who is running the Chicago Marathon on October 13, planned a hard...

Comedian Chelsea Handler told CNN anchor Chris Cuomo on Wednesday that Trump is, “the pinnacle of white privilege.” “Let’s keep other people down so we keep winning, so I can keep filling my own pockets,’” Handler said referring to Trump. “At some point, if you really want equality, you have to be OK with other people succeeding … He and the Republican Party at this point are about no one succeeding except for them.” She went on to say, “The pinnacle of white privilege is him. It’s nauseating, and I feel nauseous just talking about him.” Last week, Handler announced...

At a time when taxpayer and foreign-government spending at Trump Organization properties is fueling political battles, a U.S. Marine Corps reserve unit stationed in South Florida hopes to hold an annual ball at a venue that could profit the commander-in-chief. The unit is planning a gala to celebrate the 244th anniversary of the Marines’ founding at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach on Nov. 16, according to a posting on the events website Evensi. “It’s a work in progress,” said a Marine who picked up the phone late Thursday at the drill center of the 4th Air Naval...

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A federal judge has denied a request by Missouri to allow a ban on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy to go into effect while the state waits for further court action. The Kansas Star reports that U.S. District Court Judge Howard Sachs had previously paused parts of Missouri's new abortion law. It was set to go into effect Aug. 28 and criminalizes abortions after eight weeks of pregnancy. It also triggered bans at 14, 18 and 20 weeks if the initial eight-week ban was found unconstitutional.

South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg decided to finally chime in on the fact that 2,246 fetal remains were discovered at the home of the late Dr. Ulrich Klopfer, a former abortionist, who died earlier this month. Family members were going through belongings on his property when they made the discovery. "Like everyone, I find the news out of Illinois, extremely disturbing," Buttigieg told reporters. "I think it's important that that be fully investigated. I also hope that it doesn't get caught up in politics at a time when women need access to health care. There's no question that what...

n anti-abortion group is suing the city of Detroit, claiming police violated their free speech rights during the Democratic presidential debates in July. In a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court, the group, Created Equal, alleges police imposed “speech restrictions” near the Fox Theatre downtown. “From the moment we arrived, Detroit Police harassed and mistreated us,” Mark Harrington, Created Equal's founder and president, said in a statement. “We were silenced by police several times over the course of the two days for attempting to express our free speech rights.” The group is known for protesting with enormous images of aborted...

It was recently disclosed that Pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly paid millions of dollars to the victims of a mass shooter to cover up the connection between the mass shooter and prozac. Why are all mass shooters, past and present, always on some similar type of prescription drugs, most notably antidepressants? Everybody should know by now that pharmaceutical companies tend to be extremely unethical, and that they have a very tight stranglehold over government health regulatory agencies like the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). According to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., pharmaceutical companies...

For one of the last abortion doctors in Missouri, harassment, stalking and death threats are a part of regular life. But this year, it's been worse than ever. Colleen McNicholas, the chief medical officer at Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri, is one of many providers who told CBS News they've seen an uptick in violence this year, both against themselves and their clinics. They say the increased harassment has coincided with newly enacted state laws restricting legal abortion and polarizing rhetoric surrounding the procedure. The National Abortion Federation has been tracking violence against abortion providers...

Army National Guard Special Forces is a unique, often misunderstood component of the military. These units are a well-utilized, effective force, but are threatened by current policy on generating orders and timing of compensation. In turn, families, like mine, are subject to a financial hardship not experienced by the active duty components. This continued financial strain drives many conversations within the four walls of the home on whether to stay in or get out. It is a dirty little secret in our circle — one that is not discussed in public forums, but absolutely must be addressed as it threatens...
  • 'Piled with garbage': Abortion doctor with thousands of fetuses in cardboard boxes was a hoarder

The abortion doctor who stashed more than 2,245 fetal remains in his garage also hoarded personal property throughout his home in Crete, Illinois, leading to a weeklong investigation by police who remain bewildered about his motives. Officials from Will County, Illinois, don't know why Dr. Ulrich "George" Klopfer hoarded fetal remains at his home and are transferring the investigation to Indiana, where Klopfer used to perform abortions before he lost his medical license in 2015. Klopfer died Sept. 3 at age 75, and the coroner, Patrick O'Neil, would say only that he appears to have died of natural causes. One...

Nice day in Manhattan today so decided to take a walk from my midtown office over to see Ric Ocasek's townhouse. Yes, he died over the weekend. 75 years old. Purportedly. Lead singer of The Cars. Confirmed. Had a lot of quirky and catchy hit songs from the late 1970s to mid 1980s. Multi-platinum albums. Produced some creative videos that showed on MTV back when MTV played music videos. Now you can see all of them on demand out on the YouTube. Ric Ocasek seemed like a decent guy. Kept a low profile. He never screeched about his politics at...
