America is facing a significant shortage of highly educated “economically attractive” unmarried men who earn at least $53,000 and have a college degree. And the situation could result in unmarried women remaining unmarried or marrying less well-suited partners, a study says. That’s the conclusion reached by researchers Daniel T. Lichter of Cornell University, Joseph P. Price of Brigham Young University, and Jeffrey M. Swigert of Southern Utah University in their study, Mismatches in the Marriage Market, published this month in the Journal of Family and Marriage. The results of the study were based on comparisons between real data on unmarried men and...

Republicans in North Carolina used a 9/11 memorial to trick Democrats into missing a key vote pic.twitter.com/6IF0PJd3t7 — NowThis (@nowthisnews) September 11, 2019 Intense Video From NC House Floor — Enraged Democrat screams at Speaker The floor of North Carolina’s General Assembly quickly spun into chaos Wednesday morning, when Republicans capitalized on Democrats’ absences. The state legislature was in session, but Democrats were told there wouldn’t be any votes. So some lawmakers joined Democrat Gov. Roy Cooper at a ceremony for the victims of 9/11. Others stayed in their districts. Only nine Democrats went to the floor of the General...

I’ve gotten out of the prediction business when it comes to American politics. Primarily because I no longer trust the information on which I used to rely to make predictions. Mainstream American news media continues their Wile E. Coyote routine with President Trump. And just like the cartoon, you quickly figure out after a couple of episodes they’re never going to catch Trump’s roadrunner. This week’s episode featured Media Coyote telling us President Roadrunner has lost his magic in North Carolina and in no way would Dan Bishop be able to pull off a victory in the state’s 9th Congressional...

Are American Christians too politicized? Or are we not politically minded enough? And what about Christian leaders in America? Are they (we) too outspoken politically? Or perhaps not enough?I decided to come at this from another angle, asking this question on Twitter: “What's your opinion? If Paul was alive today and a USA citizen, how political would he be?”Since Twitter allows four possible responses to a poll, and since there are constraints as to how many characters can be used for each response, I offered these options, with the responses placed here in parentheses: He would not even vote (30...

Leave that poor Swedish kid alone, you climate hoax-mongering ghouls. Stop hiding behind Greta Thunberg’s Pippi Longstocking braids and come out and push your damnable globaloney warming lies yourself, jerks. Free Greta. There’s no excuse, none, for this shameless and despicable exploitation of a vulnerable girl. What kind of person would do that to a child? The kind that considers other people collateral damage in their quest for a leftist utopia. Everyone else gets to pick up the pieces when our useless elite breaks a few eggs along the way. Big Chief Warren, Totally-Not-Doddering Joe and the rest of the...

John Sexton wrote last night about yesterday’s Supreme Court decision on the White House’s new asylum rules. By a seven to two margin, the justices agreed that the rule, which essentially acts as a safe third country agreement (without Mexico’s participation) could remain in effect while the case continued through the appeals process. The two dissenting justices were Sotomayor and Ginsburg, with the former writing the dissent. As Newsweek points out, Sotomayor was rather blunt in her objections, but I can’t help wondering precisely what it was she was objecting to. “Once again the Executive Branch has issued a rule...

The latest general election polling and presidential approval ratings numbers haven’t held a lot of good news for Donald Trump. Some surveys have him back down in the thirties and the head-to-head matchups against the Democratic frontrunners don’t have him being able to beat anyone but Elizabeth Warren. (That doesn’t mean he couldn’t still win in the electoral college, but the popular vote would be a trainwreck if these forecasts proved true.) So what can the President do about it?Over at National Review, Conrad Black has a suggestion. He points out that Trump has really come through on many...

VIDEO Morning Joe Scarborough snapped and called former Senator Claire McCaskill "insufferable" for daring to disagree with him. This was another symptom of his Anger Management issues. Later in the show, Scarborough mocked panelist Donny Deutsch over his recently cancelled show (due to toilet ratings) "Saturday Night Politics."

Whenever journalists and other Democrats want to put out a negative article on the economy when the economy looks pretty good, they can always go to Moody's and Mark Zandi. Now Zandi is pulling numbers out of a hat to say Trump's trade war will cost 450,000 manufacturing jobs by the end of this year and 900,000 by the end of next year. Trump's trade war has killed 300,000 jobs Forecasting firm Moody's Analytics estimates that Trump's trade war with China has already reduced U.S. employment by 300,000 jobs, compared with likely employment levels absent the trade war. That's a...

The U.S. topped Saudi Arabia in oil exports in June as Riyadh complied with OPEC's production cut deal and shale production surged, according to an industry report Wednesday. Crude oil prices fell. Already the No. 1 producer of oil, the U.S. exported nearly 9 million barrels per day of crude and oil products in June, beating Saudi Arabia and Russia, the International Energy Agency said in its monthly oil market report. Saudi Arabia then retook the U.S. as top producer in July and August as hurricanes forced halts to production and shipments. But the U.S. could reclaim the title of...

We live in a moment where the urge to be politically correct has conquered the major institutions of society, driving them to abandon common sense and even science. Writing at PJ Media, Megan Fox documents the auto-beclowning of the Canadian Cancer Society, which one would normally expect to be a sober, scientifically based organization fighting one of mankind's chief scourges today. In place of this critical mission, promotion of transgenderism has taken priority. A new ad campaign to fight cervical cancer is dominated by a transgender person who is a biological male and has no cervix. Look at the absurdity of...

The Coast Guard has issued a safety warning for commercial boat operators, saying they should monitor the amount of unsupervised phone charging on the boat in the wake of a boat fire off the coast of California that killed 34 people. USA Today reported that a preliminary report into the fire near Santa Cruz Island could come out as soon as Thursday, according to the the National Transportation Safety Board. While the report will likely not include a cause, it will examine how batteries and electronics were stored. The Coast Guard urged those operating a boat to "reduce potential fire...

Nine years after Barack Obama signed the Affordable Care Act, we learn this about the uninsured in Texas:Despite a booming Texas economy, more Texans lost or dropped their insurance coverage from 2017 to 2018, according to a new report from the U.S. Census Bureau. That marks the second consecutive year-to-year increase of Texas' uninsured rate.p>And with about 5 million uninsured people — about 17.7% of the total population — Texas remains the state with the highest uninsured rate out of all 50 states, the census data released Tuesday shows. Okay — so Texas is #1 again, but on the wrong list. Wasn't...

A man was found beaten and bound in the basement of a Bronx bodega when two cops who were chasing separate suspects entered the cellar early Wednesday morning, police said. While they were searching for the suspects in the store, an employee let them into the basement, where they discovered the kidnapped 49-year-old, cops said. The officers freed the man, who then told them he had been kidnapped three days prior by four people on a Bronx street corner, police said. The victim — who sources said has a lengthy arrest record — said the four suspects forced him into...

Given China’s position as a classic Asian land power and America’s role as an oceanic hegemon, a military challenge has emerged in the near seas close to China through which the essentials of modern industrial power flow – oil, to name just one. That means the control of the South China Sea is the next step in the establishment of a New Chinese Empire. As in 1938, when Poland lay between the Wehrmacht and the Red Army, the Philippines is the weak point between the U.S. and China. It is common knowledge that America intends to ring the South China...

The holy grail of those who wish us disarmed is gun registration. Once your guns are required to be registered, they are, in effect, already confiscated. A little thought will reveal to you why this is so.The Government will know who has legal possession of each firearm. They will know where the firearm is stored. When physical possession of the gun is desired, they can order you to turn it in. This has happened repeatedly. The historical examples include NAZI Germany, Soviet Russia, Red China, and Cambodia. Recent examples include Kosovo, Great Britain, Australia, New York, and California. Not...

As President Trump begins considering replacements for former national security adviser John Bolton, sources close to the administration say it's possible Trump will make an unusual pick and ask Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to fill the role. The scenario of Pompeo taking the job while keeping his current one has historical precedent in Henry Kissinger, who served in both positions from 1973 to 1975. Holding both jobs would "appeal to anyone with a sense of history," said a Republican operative close to Pompeo. "The Henry Kissinger scenario is one that I can imagine. The president has a great deal...

On Monday, Valerie Plame, a former undercover CIA operative who became famous from a CIA leak scandal in 2003, released a campaign ad accusing President Trump of pardoning the man who "took revenge against my husband and leaked my identity." In a fact-check for The Washington Post Tuesday, Glenn Kessler, who testified at the leak trial, debunked Plame's attempt to blame Scooter Libby for leaking her information and called her out for exaggerating her role in the CIA and trying to make Trump the bad guy. Plame, who is running as a Democrat for New Mexico's 3rd District, has made...
