When Beto O’Rourke proclaimed, during the second round of Democratic presidential debates, that “there’s a new battleground state, Texas, and it has 38 Electoral College votes,” eyes rolled in unison across America. We’ve all heard that nonsense before! Pundits and progressives have been predicting that minority-white Texas would go blue for so long, it’s practically become a running joke. And while O’Rourke came tantalizingly close to knocking off Ted Cruz last fall, that race seemed to have all the hallmarks of a fluke—a Republican senator who even Republicans can’t stomach, running in a strong Democratic midterm cycle against a fresh-faced...

De Blasio was one of nearly two dozen candidates who visited Iowa this weekend to attend the Iowa State Fair. At an event hosted by Iowa state senator Rob Hogg (D.), de Blasio pitched himself with the slogan, "working people first." "Here's the bottom line: We have a country that's favored the 1 percent now for literally 40 years," he said. "The rich have gotten...

Virtually every week, there seems to be another issue that preoccupies the country. But while our attention is focused on President Donald Trump, Google, Charlottesville, Russia, impeachment, Jeffrey Epstein, the next elections, racism, a trade war with China, the #MeToo movement or something else, LGBTQ organizations are quietly going about their work dismantling ethical norms, making a mockery of education, ruining innocent people's lives and destroying children's innocence. If you think this is overstated, here are some examples:The LGBTQ Dismantling of Women's SportsLast month, a transgender weightlifter won multiple gold medals at the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa. At the 137th Supreme Convention of the Knights of Columbus, which concluded August 8 in Minneapolis, Supreme Knight Carl Anderson announced new initiatives and gave updates on the hundreds of projects the Knights are involved in, both nationally and internationally. One initiative he announced is the Knights’ plan to support refugees at the US-Mexico border. “As Catholic men and family men, we are all deeply concerned for the plight of the refugees who have fled their homelands into ours. Their need is great — but the compassion of our Brother Knights is greater still,” Anderson said. While recognizing that individual...

If this one thing doesn’t happen, our country is finished. If this law isn’t passed, people will die. If this policy isn’t ended, the economy will collapse. Our very democracy teeters on the edge of the abyss, and lives are at stake! To listen to the news these days, it’s over, everything. The only thing we don’t know is the manner of our destruction. Will it be a trade war, some white supremacist, a movie, or the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man? Of course, the thing about life is, no matter what you throw at it, it goes on. Even without...

Now, an uncanny series of photographs can be revealed showing how a girl, thought to be Miss Roberts, was paraded around glamorous parties by Epstein and Miss Maxwell, daughter of disgraced newspaper tycoon Robert Maxwell. The teenager was flown to the south of France on Epstein's private jet and the images appear to show her at an exclusive event alongside celebrities such as supermodel Naomi Campbell and Italian businessman Flavio Briatore. Astonishingly, in these deeply disturbing images, the girl appears to be wearing the same clothes as when she posed for the earlier photograph with Andrew – an off-white, strappy...

FBI personnel are furious that President Donald Trump retweeted to his 63 million Twitter followers a baseless conspiracy theory suggesting that former President Bill Clinton was involved in the death of the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. "The Epstein case was hypercharged from the get-go," one current FBI agent, who requested anonymity to freely discuss Trump's actions, told INSIDER. "The last thing investigators need is the president of the United States fanning the flames with these bulls--- theories that have no basis in reality."

Former Vice President Joe Biden is not a "master debater," especially when faced with talents such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.), according to Washington Post congressional reporter Karoun Demirjian. Demirjian noted during a panel on CNN's Inside Politics that Warren's rise in the polls over the past few months have likely been a reflection of her performances at the two Democratic primary debates. That success, Demirjian said, is shifting public opinion away from Biden and toward Warren. "She's gotten a rise out of that whereas Biden is not the master debater people were hoping him to be," Demirjian said....

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The chant — “2 cents, 2 cents, 2 cents” — started in the back of a crowd that packed sidewalks at the Iowa State Fair. Elizabeth Warren, basking in the spontaneous adulation of her proposed wealth tax, prompted roars with her call for the ultra-wealthy to “pitch in 2 cents so everybody gets a chance to make it.” A night before, the Massachusetts senator enjoyed similar treatment when Democrats at a party dinner jumped to their feet — some beginning to dance — at the opening bars of Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5,” the song...

[Catholic Caucus] Francis Takes From Ischia That Which He Bestows On China The diocese of Ischia is as small as the island that bears this name, celebrated since antiquity for its hot springs. But curiously, its history crossed paths a few days ago with that of China, the Asian giant with which Pope Francis is enamored. So enamored as to present to the Chinese rulers - with the secret provisory accord signed on September 22, 2018 - the right to choose for themselves every Catholic bishop in the future, although the pope will have the faculty of accepting or rejecting the...

A U.S. District Judge has rejected the DOJ and FBI motion to block the release of the Archey Declarations (descriptions of Comey memos). [Background Here] In a strongly worded ruling (full pdf below) released moments ago, Federal Judge James Boasberg blasted the DOJ and FBI for attempting to change their filings, claim national security “sources and methods”, and block his prior court ruling – which instructed the DOJ to release the “Archey Declarations”. The judge is obviously angry: It must strike readers as erroneous “with the force of a five-week-old, unrefrigerated dead fish.”…
