FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) - An Oregon lumber company is cutting its workforce by about 40%, citing the state's "regulatory and tax creep." The Stimson Lumber Company announced Friday that it would lay off 60 jobs from its Forest Grove operations. CEO Andrew Miller said environmental permit fees, Oregon's Clean Fuels Tax and pending cap and trade legislation are stacking up the cost of doing business in the state. The company said it will now shift some of that work to Idaho and Montana, where it cost 5% to 7% less to produce lumber products. In Oregon, Stimson also operates...

Democratic Party candidates for President in 2020 have been claiming that Trump’s economic successes are really the result of Obama administration policies. A while back, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis created a summary report that measured the American economy while President Obama and the Democrats were in control. It’s a trip down memory lane, and shows that Democrat claims about the “Obama Economy” are nothing but smoke and mirrors designed to fool the American people. While Democrats were in charge everything that should have been up, is down, and everything that should have been down, is up. Take...
  • Mexico rejects idea to keep Central American asylum seekers

Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said Monday that his country would reject a proposed solution to the immigration and tariff stand-off with the U.S. that would involve it keeping Central American asylum seekers. The proposal, which has not been formally made by the U.S., would involve Mexico being designated a "safe third country" for the immigrants, meaning that refugees passing through Mexico to the U.S. would first have to claim asylum in Mexico. The U.S. has a similar agreement with Canada. "An agreement about a safe third country would not be acceptable for Mexico,” Ebrard told reporters shortly before a...

During the second half of his “Freedom Friday” show on May 31, co-host Carl Gallups reiterated the theme with which he ended the previous segment: that President Trump is in possession of evidence gleaned from a 5+-year investigation into the “long-form” birth certificate image said to represent Barack Hussein Obama’s original birth record showing that it is a “computer-generated forgery” and that “high-level meetings” are being held on the subject.

President Donald Trump laid a wreath at, and prayed over the interred remains of an unknown combatant of the Great War of 1914-1918 on Monday morning, during a visit to Westminster Abbey on his State Visit to the United Kingdom. The visit to the Abbey, the historic place of burial and coronations for English and British Kings and Queens for nearly 1,000 years, was hosted by British Royal Prince Andrew and the chapter officers of the Abbey itself. President Trump was driven from Buckingham Palace, where he had eaten lunch with Queen Elizabeth II, to the Abbey in the Presidential...

  • Trump Will Get Deals With Both China And Mexico

    06/03/2019 1:55:48 PM PDT · by Liberty7732 · 15 replies
Most of the media won’t get it, probably even when it happens, but all of the signals are pointing to President Trump getting deals with both China and Mexico — and they will be better deals than what the United States has or has had. Mexico is actually the easier nut to crack here. The government is corrupt, weak and totally reliant on the United States for both its legal economy and its black market economy. A full-out trade-war with the U.S. would of course cause some harm to the U.S., but would be catastrophic for Mexico. And more importantly,...

FULL TITLE: Kentucky pastor, 26, arrested after ‘sending messages trying to set up a threesome with two underage girls who worked at his restaurant' A Kentucky pastor has been accused of trying to set up a threesome with two underage girls. Bobby J. Blackburn, 26, the pastor of the Elevate Church in Prestonsburg, was arrested last week and charged with using an electronic communication system to get a minor to commit a sex act, according to Prestonsburg police. On May 24, police obtained an arrest warrant for Blackburn after receiving a complaint that he allegedly messaged a minor and asked...

When Rhode Island Bishop Thomas Tobin tweeted a simple warning to his diocese cautioning against participation in LGBT “Pride” events during so-called “Pride Month,” an international backlash quickly erupted. LGBT and progressive activists moved swiftly to squash the Catholic shepherd’s advisory to his flock to remain faithful to “Catholic faith and morals,” demonstrating the resolve of anti-Catholic forces to silence Church teaching. Early on June 1, the first day of what LGBT activists insist is a month for celebrating their lifestyles, Bishop Tobin (not to be confused with left-wing Cardinal Joseph Tobin of Newark, New Jersey) tweeted: “A reminder that...

Ask a Republican elected official in Utah if they're endorsing a second term for the sitting president of their own party and the answer should be obvious, shouldn't it? Apparently not if the president running for re-election is Donald Trump. Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, answered that question from CNN's Jake Tapper recently by joking he wasn't ready to say yet if he's going to write in the name of his wife, Ann, in the 2020 presidential election, as he did in 2016.

60-year-old had suffered an ascending aortic dissection, a potentially fatal rupture in the inner wall of the major artery that pumps blood away from the heart to the rest of the body. As a result, he quickly needed surgery to repair the tear. But the man’s underlying lung problems, particularly his chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), would complicate the procedure in an unexpected way. In order to reach his heart, the doctors had to crack open his sternum—the bone smack in the middle of our chest. But the man’s right lung was stuck to the sternum, with bits of damaged...

FULL TITLE: The reality for women seeking an abortion in Kentucky: Woman covers her head with a coat and is escorted by FIVE people as she enters the only clinic that performs the procedure in the state while being harassed by pro-life protesters As the American Civi Liberties Union (ACLU) continues to battle some of the strictest abortion bans the United States has seen in decades being passed around the country, the reality of women attempting to seek lawful abortions in Kentucky remains hostile. RUSH: More on the California Democrat convention and the booing of John Hickenlooper. The former governor of Colorado gets booed off the stage, practically, for simply saying heading in the direction of socialism is not… Not “heading in the direction.” Socialism is not the answer. The people in California didn’t want to hear that. California’s Democrats… California, politically, is a socialist state now — and I say that in the meaning of the term ideologically. Of course, that encompasses attitudinal and behavioral and everything else. From all intents and purposes, California is a socialist state. So let’s examine just some...

Kennedy International Airport in New York on charges of transporting visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. According to court documents, George Aref Nader, 60, was charged by criminal complaint after he arrived at Washington-Dulles International Airport on Jan. 17, 2018 from Dubai in possession of a cell phone containing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" has been hit with a serious one-two punch. One day after finishing May with its worst ratings since Donald Trump took office, the lefty pundit's eponymous program faced a Vanity Fair bombshell report that the New York Times didn’t want its reporters appearing on Maddow's show, not because her ratings were down, but because she was too far left, even for them. The New York Times had reportedly blocked its reporters from appearing on “Maddow” because the program is too partisan, with one insider from the Grey Lady's newsroom agreeing, telling Fox News “it rubs...

Over the weekend, another ranking Democrat, Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina, appeared to placate the Donkey Party’s increasingly radicalized and Marxist base by intimating POTUS Donald Trump likely will be impeached by the House “at some point.” The Hill reported: When Tapper asked Clyburn if he thought Democrats would launch impeachment proceedings against Trump, he said “yes, that’s exactly what I feel.” “What Nancy Pelosi is trying to do, and the rest of us in the House of Representatives, is developing a process to efficiently move on this issue so when we get to the vote, something she calls...
