Why do you think that might be?
Hey, how about the amazing fact that you "ping" a list without any people on it?
Is that because maintaining a list is just a little bit beyond you?
Back to the point, though...
There are at least three "threads" that you pretend to start
that NEVER get used. So why post them?
Should make a Chris Plante thread too.
That guy is pretty funny. Good to listen too early in the am.
My local news radio channel replaced the insufferable Glenn Beck with Plante, which gives me a reason to turn them on again when I’m in the car.
Also, hi, Biggirl! You may consider this an official response to your Howie Carr thread just in case the Interwebz Polismang queries you on the matter again.
You go ahead and celebrate that.
But regardless of where you are Howie Carr is outstanding. He often has top guests on his show...Joe DiGenova is a regular as is (or was) Anne Coulter (haven't heard her recently).
And for us New Englanders Howie is even better...his understanding of New England is second to none.
I had the pleasure of briefly chatting with him during the Salemme trial last summer...an interesting guy for sure.
Are you sure it was her, or was it him?
Because I can recall a time when Trump was running for president that Rush didn’t really seem to be on board, and pissed a lot of people off, and they said so in the thread, and then the thread became a lot smaller in terms of daily responses.
And a very similar thing occurred on the Mark Levin thread for a very similar reason.
Just my two cents on the subject, maybe I’m right, maybe I’m not, but I don’t have anything against biggirl.
Compassion for the handicapped is nice, but we don't need them running any form of media.
Excellent!! The more radio stations that replace the blubbering idiot Glenn Beck, the better.
Jim Vicevich at WTIC 1080 AM ('Sound Off Connecticut') is very good, but unfortunately he's been suffering greatly with Lupus over the past few years. He's out indefinitely at WTIC... I have no idea when - or IF - he'll be back.
Pastor Will Marotti has taken over the show for the past few months. Marotti's show is far more 'local Connecticut' than Vicevich's was though. I'm fine with that, as I live here. But it's not the same show it used to be with Jim Vicevich.
BIG fan of Howie Carr! I listen just about every day, and my husband and I have attended several events of his over the years. We've had a great time at every one of 'em. ;-)
However, I'm very saddened to learn that his intelligent, very witty Executive Producer Steve Robinson is leaving the show. I don't know where he is going, but Howie's show will suffer without him. Steve does a fabulous job every time he fills in for Howie, and is sometimes funnier than Howie himself. Such a shame. Perhaps Howie needs to pay his associates more??
Steve Robinson is going to a podcast being done by Kirk Minehan formerly of WEEI-FM Boston, a sports radio station that used to be the sister station of WRKO. (WEEI-FM is owned by Entercom; Howie tried hard to break free from Entercom to self-syndicate his show.Howie’s Boston affiliate WRKO is now with iHeart Radio.Used to be Entercom.)
Minehan had been controversial but successful with WEEI-FM.I believe he broke the story about the Boston Globe’s Kevin Cullen lying. The Globe is owned by Red Sox owner John Henry.WEEI-FM has the rights to Red Sox baseball.
Robinson bid an emotional farewell to Howie’s show on Friday.(Howie is throwing some kind of farewell party).Grace Curley remains with the show while Taylor Cormier becomes new producer. I don’t know if Minehan’s podcast will earn him more money but it’s part of controversial Barstool Sports (Radio).
Boston Globe re Kirk Minihane:
“When former WEEI morning show co-host Kirk Minihane officially and contentiously parted ways with Entercom Communications last week, he touted himself as the greatest free-agent in sports media history. But there was one most logical landing spot all along: Barstool Sports. And thats where hes going.
“Barstool founder Dave Portnoy tweeted Thursday night that Minihane was joining the company, and Minihane later confirmed with a tweet of his own, adding that he would elaborate Friday. Barstool Sports has a series of popular podcasts as well as a Sirius channel. Minihane is expected to have a prominent presence at both.”
Thank-you for the good word.
Also on Todd Feinberg, a weeks ago, heard a call come in from Jim Vicevich. He still keeps up with the issues despite his challenges. That made my day.
Here’s a post by “rocket21” on radiodiscussions (he used to run the now defunct HowieCarrShowFans site):
“Some Minihane-related podcast came out yesterday, in which Steve discussed the situation a little bit. One gets the impression that he was bored with the job and wanted to do something more edgy. He also mentioned that he’s still open to guest hosting, however he doesn’t intend to work Christmas for $50/hour.”’
Here’s a video I uploaded from 2009, from the Boston Herald, showing Howie and his former producer
Nancy “Sandy” Shack. Again, almost 10 years ago’

Oh that's so disappointing. Yet another great talent going off into podcast-land. So I'll never hear Steve again.
What's the deal with all the podcasts lately?? Seems that *everyone* has a podcast these days. There are only so many hours in each day... Can't listen to 'em all.
Robinson bid an emotional farewell to Howies show on Friday.(Howie is throwing some kind of farewell party). Grace Curley remains with the show while Taylor Cormier becomes new producer. I dont know if Minehans podcast will earn him more money but its part of controversial Barstool Sports (Radio).
I'm SO sorry I missed Steve's emotional farewell on that Friday show. :-(
Steve seems to have been gone from the show now for a couple of weeks. Thought his last day was in early July?
Is Taylor Cormier the rather boring guy with the deadpan voice who chimes in once in awhile on air? The guy who is trying *way too hard* to be as funny as Steve was? Ugh.
Grace Curley seems like a nice person, but I get tired of her silliness after awhile. She's got quite an ego about her so-called "talent", too. Some days Howie seems to have no problem with Grace taking over large parts of his radio show. On those days, I tune out, and rarely go back.
Steve's departure from Howie's show is a MAJOR loss, IMO. Grace and the boring guy (Taylor?) combined are no match for Steve's quick wit and talent. Howie should've let Grace and the boring guy go, and paid Steve big $$ to keep him.
Thanks again for all of the inside info about Howie's show, FRiend! I wish it was better news though...
Wow... I so wish I had heard Jim that day! I miss Jim. I was probably listening to Howie Carr or Sean Hannity (via XM).
Do you think Jim will ever come back to do his 'Sound Off Connecticut' show? Although I have no idea just how sick he is, it seems highly doubtful to me, given that he's now been out for many, many months.
I love Pastor Will, but often goes on about the same thing day after day (the thousands of people moving out of CT, tolls, etc.). Sometimes I wish he'd talk more about national, rather than just local topics. He's always upbeat and funny, though.
However, I like Pastor Will *far* better than (yawn) Michael Harrison. And... Harrison doesn't exactly seem like a die-hard conservative, either. Not sure where he stands...
Steve said on his announcement that his last day with Howie would be July 5...and he said that it was possible he may fill in for Howie around July 4th week.So who knows. He did kind of disappear quick. You can see his posts on Twitter

Yes, Taylor has the deep, boring voice.
I don’t get to hear the show much these days..busy at work.
Grace I guess will now write some columns for the Boston Herald.
Maybe Steve will come back if the podcast doesn’t work out.
Let's hope so! :-)
Thanks again for all the info on this...
