  • ISIS has gay wing: Homosexuality rife among terrorists say experts

A BRITISH man fighting in Syria has shared what's been described as "intimate, homosexual" messages with other jihadists, it has emerged. And some experts fear intolerance among the British Muslim community has sent young gay Muslims into the arms of ISIS. If the men were caught having a gay relationship they would probably be put to death as jihadists consider homosexuality a sin. However, some experts say the taboo surrounding homosexuality in many Western Muslim communities could be driving young gay Muslims "to despair" and end up with them travelling to Syria to take up the cause of jihad.

We have previously mentioned the re-write of the AP guide for History. The new AP guide for teaching History is nothing less than (yet another) declaration of war against the very essence of America. Elizabeth Price Foley over at Instapundit has termed the MiniTru approved truth as “the oppression narrative.” An apt label for an education system that tears down American civilization as an “evil” and replaces it with a Howard Zinnified version of reality. As Foley notes: “How about just teaching our children about the founding, the Constitution, and the major historical eras? It isn’t a cultural anthropology or...

Last night Fox News aired an interview in which Jeb Bush was asked the question about Iraq that every major politician should have answered by now. Somehow it seemed to catch Bush less than completely prepared. His answer generated the expected attacks from Democrats, but even some Republicans were critical. GOP consultant Ana Navarro now says Bush confided to her that he “misheard the question,” which suggests he’ll be clarifying what he really thinks soon. This was bound to come up before long. The way it’s now playing suggests that Bush — along with many other Republicans — can’t quite...

Sometimes I think that Rush Limbaugh is the dumbest man in America. This happens whenever I take him at face value and forget that he is basically an entertainer with contempt for his audience. He will tell them anything. Last week, as if to validate my opinion of him, he went after Michelle Obama for playing the "race card" at the dedication of a museum in New York City. He described her as angry and complaining. The word he should have used was "right." I would even have settled for "interesting." After all, when the first lady of the United...
  • You can (partially) thank the housing collapse for the bourbon shortage

We've reported before on the Great Bourbon Shortage that's coming, and the skeptics who don't think it's real. Now we have some more context on what could be contributing to the shortage: the housing crash. Let's take a step back. You probably know that there's been a huge uptick in the popularity of whiskey in America – especially craft whiskeys and, in particular, bourbon. Demand has surged and the number of distillers has ballooned. Now, understand that bourbon, a specific type of American whiskey, must be aged for two years in brand new oak barrels. Usually it's aged in white...

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) - A frightening message from a group that supports the terrorist network ISIS took down the website of a popular Nashville music venue. The FBI was made aware of the cyberattack in Nashville and is warning business owners to secure their websites. The website for the Douglas Corner Cafe was hacked with a message reading, "I am Muslim and I love jihad." Read more:

First lady Michelle Obama may know the names of the world’s most famous clothes designers, and she may even know how to dance the Uptown Funk, but judging from her commencement speech to the graduates of a historically black university in Alabama, America’s race-baiting FLOTUS knows nothing about great American civil rights leader, accomplished scholar, and founder of Tuskegee University, the late Booker T. Washington. Michelle Obama’s remarks at the commencement sounded more like she was paying homage to W.E.B. DuBois, who believed in civil rights via agitation and political activism, than DuBois’ adversary, ex-slave Booker Taliaferro Washington, who wrote...

LOS ANGELES — Google Inc. revealed Monday that its self-driving cars have been in 11 minor traffic accidents since it began experimenting with the technology six years ago. The company released the number after The Associated Press reported that Google had notified California of three collisions involving its self-driving cars since September, when reporting all accidents became a legal requirement as part of the permits for the tests on public roads. The director of Google’s self-driving car project wrote in a web post that all 11 accidents were minor — “light damage, no injuries” — and happened over 1.7 million...

In the wide-ranging “The Kelly File” interview, Kelly asked the potential contender for the Republican presidential nomination where he stood in the debate between provoking terror and liberty. “I think it’s about both,” Bush said. “I think the First Amendment, and freedom — freedom of expression — trumps everything else.” However, Bush told Kelly, it’s not “necessarily appropriate” to hold an event knowing it could provoke a violent reaction from radical Muslims. *snip* Kelly pressed Bush, asking “Why is it inappropriate? Why not stand up to the terrorists and say we’re going to draw what we want to draw?” “I...

When a candidate or officeholder says something completely ridiculous, a supporter inevitably claims he or she misheard the question. And so it goes, today, with Ana Navarro, who used to work for Jeb Bush, who used to be governor of Florida, saying he misheard a question about the invasion of Iraq. The question, from Megyn Kelly of Fox News, was not terribly complicated: “Knowing what we know now, would you have authorized the invasion?” -snip- Ms. Navarro said she did not ask what Mr. Bush heard, or what he would say now. “Listen, it’s too early in the morning, O.K.,...

Just when you think the GOP might modernize, the knuckles start dragging again, this time on immigration and trade. It’s political suicide. If you want to see where the impulse to reform the Republican Party in a more libertarian direction of limited government, social tolerance, and free markets goes to die, look no further than the recent attacks on immigration and freer trade by Jeff Sessions, the influential senator from Alabama. Every time the GOP seems finally ready to orient itself in a forward-looking, post-culture-war direction, some holdover from an America that never quite existed to begin with blows his...

President Obama, Al Gore and other alarmists continue to prophesy manmade global warming crises, brought on by our “unsustainable” reliance on fossil fuels. Modelers like Mike Mann and Gavin Schmidt conjure up illusory crisis “scenarios” based on the assumption that carbon dioxide emissions now drive climate change. A trillion-dollar Climate Crisis industry self-servingly echoes their claims. But what if these merchants of fear are wrong? What if the sun refuses to cooperate with the alarmists? “The sun is almost completely blank,” meteorologist Paul Dorian notes. Virtually no sunspots darken the blinding yellow orb. “The main driver of all weather and...

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid: I find it stunning that the NFL cares more about how much air is in a football than it cares about a racist franchise name. — Senator Harry Reid (@SenatorReid) May 12, 2015 [Snip] Meanwhile, Reid has long been critical of Redskins owner Dan Snyder and his decision to keep the team's name. “Snyder has to realize, he is on the losing side of history,” Reid said in March 2014. “And the sooner he does it, the better off we are. A friend and adviser of Jeb Bush said Tuesday morning that the likely 2016 presidential hopeful told her he had misheard a question from Megyn Kelly, the Fox News host, about the war in Iraq, after his response created an uproar of criticism from the left and the right. Ana Navarro, a Republican strategist from Florida who has been an ally of Mr. Bush, made the remarks in an interview on CNN’s “New Day.” “Knowing what we know now, would you have authorized the invasion?” Ms. Kelly asked Mr. Bush in the interview. “I would,” Mr. Bush answered. DHAKA: A masked gang wielding machetes hacked a secular blogger to death Tuesday in northeastern Bangladesh in the third such deadly attack by suspected Islamists since February. Police said that Ananta Bijoy Das had been murdered in broad daylight as he headed to work at a local bank in the city of Sylhet, an attack that fellow writers said highlighted a culture of impunity. Kamrul Hasan, commissioner of Sylhet police, said that a group of around four masked attackers had attacked Das with machetes at around 8.30am on a busy street in Bangladesh's fifth largest city. America has a giant long-run problem largely caused by poorly designed entitlement programs such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. So when I wrote last month about proposals by some Democrats to expand Social Security, I was less than enthusiastic. …demographic changes and ill-designed programs will combine to dramatically expand the size of the public sector over the next few decades. So it’s really amazing that some politicians, led by the clownish Elizabeth Warren, want to dig the hole deeper. …I’m surprised demagogues such as Elizabeth Warren haven’t rallied behind a plan to simply add a bunch of zeroes to...
