As you know by now, last weekend Pamela Geller held a Mohammed Art Exhibit in Texas. That event was attacked by two jihadists wearing body armor and carrying semi-automatic weapons. Luckily, they were shot immediately upon arrival by a police officer with his handgun. Since the event ISIS has issued a fatwa, otherwise known as a death sentence, on Pam Geller's head. Last night on Hannity radical Imam Anjem Choudary, who represents a significant portion of British Muslims, justified the death sentence. "You're talking about people who deliberately had a competition to insult the messenger Muhammed, peace be upon him...

BROD, Kosovo (RNS) The Catholic priest followed the village elders up a narrow road that curved between the green hills in the tiny hamlet of Gjonaj in southern Kosovo. As the priest, Don Albert Jakaj, 36, emerged from the wooded path, he saw the light gray stone church, believed by locals to be a thousand years old, surrounded by tall pine trees. Jakaj had traveled to Gjonaj at the request of Avni Ademi, 35, a local who contacted the priest to get his opinion on the origin of the church and to validate his belief that the church belongs to...

Costco has a new PowerStroke pressure washer powered by a Subaru engine with 3100 PSI and 2.4 GPM. It will be on sale starting today for $269, $30 discount. I was thinking of buying it instead of paying someone to power wash the house, a 2 story home. Is such a machine suitable for power washing a house? Thanks for any feedback.

The possibility of married Roman Catholic priests was part of a candid and revealing conversation with Chicago Archbishop Blase Cupich. CBS 2 Chief Correspondent Jay Levine sat down with Archbishop Cupich, who said that is wouldn’t surprise him, though not right away. The Archbishop reminded us that Pope has already told the worldwide bishops conferences to consider it and report back. “I think that what the pope was saying is that he wants to make sure that whatever you do it creates unity within your own churches, your own country,” Cupich said. “There’s no reason for any decision to be...

Actor James Franco has written a lengthy endorsement of his former employer, McDonald's. The brand has been struggling with declining US sales and announced an extensive turnaround plan this week. Franco writes in a Washington Post op-ed that in the late '90s he was a struggling actor living in Los Angeles. He was fired from a coffee shop and golf course and couldn't find acting jobs. He became desperate after his parents cut him off financially. "Someone asked me if I was too good to work at McDonald’s," Franco writes. "Because I was following my acting dream despite all the...

A US appeals court just ruled that the NSA's dragnet on millions of Americans' phone calls is illegal, and Edward Snowden served as the catalyst for the decision. "Americans first learned about the telephone metadata program that appellants now challenge on June 5, 2013, when the British newspaper The Guardian published a FISC order leaked by former government contractor Edward Snowden," the court notes. The order directed Verizon to produce to the NSA “on an ongoing daily basis . . . all call detail records or ‘telephony metadata’ created by Verizon for communications (i) between the United States and abroad;...

The terrorists think Americans are just sitting back waiting for the next promised attack. And they are sitting back waiting---locked and loaded ISIS, ISIL, al Qaeda, Boko Haram, the Taliban—in short Islamic terrorists under all acronyms could be confusing the largely unprotected American population with its seemingly Islamist terrorist-simpatico president. It is not a stretch to say that when it comes to the topic of international Islamic terrorism, the president and the people differ as starkly as night and day. Just because there was no official response from President Barack Obama to the latest terrorist threat that they have “71...

Just something I’ve been thinking about, sitting here playing with the RSLC’s new 2016 electoral map widget and drinking heavily. “Create Your Own Path to 270 Map,” the widget beckons. Yeah, go ahead. You go find yourself a path to 270. Here’s what I’ve got.(see graphic) Each blue state you see there has been blue in every presidential election since 1992, with the sole exception of New Mexico — which has been blue in every election since 1992 except for 2004. Obama won the state by 10 points three years ago against Romney and by 15 points seven years ago...

Pamela Geller, the woman targeted by terrorists in Texas over the weekend, says the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security have yet to contact her after the thwarted attacked. She made the comments last night in an interview with Sean Hannity. "This is a serious threat," said Hannity. "Basically a Fatwa, a death threat, has now been issued. Your reaction to that? Have you had any contact with the FBI?" "They have not contacted me, but of course we've now increased my team. I have a team now, private security, and NYPD counterterror has been in touch with me,"...

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speaks at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Policy Conference in Washington, Monday, March 2, 2015. (AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais) Last March 17th, Benjamin Netanyahu won big in the Israeli elections. His own right-of-center Likud Party came out well ahead of the pack with 30 Knesset seats (out of 120). The right-wing/religious bloc of parties came out with 67, compared to 40 seats for the left-wing parties (an Arab party that is unfriendly to Israel as a Jewish state rounded it out with 13 seats).Yet, on Wednesday night, after 42 days of grueling...

Terror group ISIS reportedly has 71 trained soldiers, at least 23 of who are ready to carry out attacks in 15 states similar to the shooting on Sunday at a cartoon contest featuring images of the Muslim prophet Muhammad in Garland, Texas. "Out of the 71 trained soldiers 23 have signed up for missions like Sunday, we are increasing in number," reads the warning, posted on a file-sharing site and attributed to Abu Ibrahim Al Ameriki, the moniker of an American believed to have joined a terror group in Pakistan several years ago. "Of the 15 states, five we will...

It’s becoming a trend. A variety of polls now trumpet the claim that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ran the gauntlet and emerged unscathed. Despite the best efforts of Republicans and the press, her candidacy cannot be derailed. Her hour come round at last, Hillary Clinton slouches unremittingly toward the White House.“Hillary Clinton appears to have initially weathered a barrage of news about her use of a private email account when she was secretary of state and practices of her family’s foundation,” The New York Times reported this week in a write-up around a poll the organization conducted...

Via TPM, I did not foresee “let’s revisit Marbury v. Madison†emerging as a minor theme of the primary. But between Carson and Huckabee it’s already a hot race to see who can pander the hardest to social cons over the upcoming Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage. Huck ante’d up recently with this comment: In Letter from a Birmingham Jail, Martin Luther King, Jr. makes the case there comes a time when people of conscience have a moral obligation to practice civil disobedience against “unjust laws.” Do you agree with that? For example, is there anything a court...

Here is the uncomfortable question every Republican senator must ask: at what point is it more of a liability than an asset to have Mitch McConnell serving as Majority Leader instead of Harry Reid? At what point do you bench the player who grounds out into a double play every time he comes to the plate? He [McConnell] has now decided to shut off all debate and join Democrats in blocking Senator Rubio’s (R-FL) amendment, which would have forced Iran to recognize Israel’s right to exist. As we’ve noted, McConnell is not only committed to passing bills supported by Democrats,...

Tuesday night Fox News carried a barrage of criticism against free-speech heroine Pam Geller for her draw Mohammed contest. She was attacked by Greta van Susteren, Bill O’Reilly and Laura Ingraham, without being given a chance to be interviewed and defend herself. Megyn Kelly and Sean Hannity were the stand-up guys. In response to my blog post Tuesday on Megyn Kelly calling out O’Reilly on why Geller is absolutely right, I received an email from a normally clear-headed conservative friend who asserted Geller was purposely provocative and it is wrong to insult anyone’s religion. Here’s the key difference. Muslims can...
