Scott Walker said in 2008 that the government "needs to do more to give people freedom back" by fighting the "poverty pimps in our society," referring to government officials and community-based organizations that, he said, use poverty for political power.

Scott Walker made some excellent points back in 2008. He will make an excellent VP pick for Ted Cruz. Cruz is just as conservative in all areas as Walker (2 of the 3 legs of the stool" that Reagan referred to, but Cruz would have more support than Walker would among the third leg - social conservatives. Many Christian-based websites and organizations seem to prefer Cruz over all other GOP candidates, perhaps with the exception of Huckabee, and barely at that, but Cruz beats out Huckabee on fiscal conservatism.

It has been reported in the news that Walker here was referring to federal government workers. Whether this is true or not perhaps, perhaps, needs to be clarified by Walker:

There are certain unions, as in law enforcement and fire fighter unions, that Walker may need to say publicly - again and again if necessary - that he fully supports as the 2016 election cycle winds on. And there are federal government workers - law enforcement included - that Walker needs to come out in full support of (again and again if necessary) as the election cycle winds on through 2016.

Can’t we just fast forward to 2016? Obama needs to retire.

Please read my post in the comments section above before replying. Thank you.

Again, Walker made some excellent points back in 2008 and would make a great VP pick for Ted Cruz.

Cruz/Walker sounding more and more like a winner. I have heard so many people say federal jobs are great SECURITY. Wel. WT@? that’s not what the government is there for, to give “security”. Go marry a rich man if that’s what you want. Or woman. Either way. But leave my money alone. It’s MINE!!

No hangin’ at high noon? I’m not willing to let him get off that lightly given the utter chaoss and hell he has wrought upon the (white) American people daily since he first sat on that throne and Val Jar needs to be there with him...

No truer words have ever been spoken. These “POVERTY PIMPS” have been living off the backs of the people they purport to “DEFEND”. Along with these “POVERTY PIMPS”, we have the corruption in Washington, that has “REEKED” and the only ones that pretend they don’t smell the “BAD ODOR” of corruption are these people living in Washington.

Walker needs to distinguish between public unions for law enforcement and fire fighters at both the state and federal level and other things so as to make himself fully clear on his support for these federal workers.

There will be no justice for Obama until we replace a lot of uniparty traitors in Congress, we get Cruz/Walker in the White house and they make a clean sweep of the Department of justice, and maybe even replace some federal judges. Then we can get rolling on cleaning up this absolute mess our country is in and start putting people in prison for treason. (And that include dirty lying media types who have been a fifth column for the last 50 years.

It will take decades to reverse the cycle of government dependency because too many people don’t know how to work.

I prefer Cruz, the straightest conservative in the race. I have no major objections to Walker. They would be the perfect ticket.

Government employees should not be unionized, period. They need to go the way of PATCO.

It's an American thing, honey...you wouldn't understand.

If you speak of government workers at the federal level and state level - those being law enforcement (both federal and state level government workers) - you will have a revolt among the GOP if you seek to or call for a de-unionization of them.

So they have a nice racket going and don’t want it to end. What else is new?

Anytime you have public employee unions, the politicians who they help elect are beholden, and represent them rather than the taxpayers in any negotiations. The result is unsupportable unfunded liabilities.
