Reed Exhibitions, a UK based company, has prohibited the display and sale of tactical rifles, high-cap magazines and certain other accessories as well as the display of official logos and trademarks of some American gun related manufacturers at the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show (aka Sportsmen's Show). The Sportsmen's Show is an annual event held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA the first week of February. The event sees in excess of 250,000 patrons and has been billed as the largest outdoors show in the world. But NOT this year. The show originally had four major sponsors; Cabela's,...

Following a meeting held on Friday, the Council of Foundations -- part of Turkey's Directorate General for Foundations (VGM) -- returned 190 hectares of forest to the Greek Orthodox Halki (Heybeliada) Seminary in İstanbul. According to the decision, 190 hectares of woodlands near the Halki Seminary will be given to the seminary's owner, the Aya Triada Monastery Foundation. This is the biggest property return to a minority group in the history of Turkey. Established in 1844 on the island of Heybeliada, Halki Seminary was closed in 1971 under a law that placed religious and military training under state control. It...

Last week we showed you a Democrat wish list for gun control proposals, as presented by Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin. The list was given to McLaughlin by a colleague in the Senate, and includes a host of radical Second Amendment-trampling ideas, including the confiscation of so-called 'assault weapons', the re-labeling of semi-automatic shotguns as 'assault weapons', and the confiscation of magazines hosting 5 rounds or more. More video clips from the debates leading up to the Governor's over-reaching gun grab are surfacing, and there is clear evidence supporting the list presented by Mr. McLaughlin as reality. Democrat proposals are so radical...

For those that don't know about history, here's the condensed version... Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer, then would head down to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter. The two most important events in all of history were 1 the invention of beer and 2 the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two...

Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi says those criticizing his rants against Jews “are taking my remarks out of context.” “It is easy for those living in comfort to overlook the incessant insult the Jewish prosperity in Israel inflicts upon its neighbors,” Morsi complained. “Faced with the same inhospitable environment as we are in Egypt, the Israelis mock our grinding poverty by living well. They have no oil wells, no gold mines to make them rich. That they are makes us look like fools.” Morsi attributed Jewish prosperity to “satanic powers. What else could it be? The Prophet (peace be upon him)...

RedNationRising.com Twitter: @RedNation2016 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RedNation2016 Email: rednationrising@gmail.com A house in my area recently burned down. In fact, a lot of houses around the United States have burned down. Some of the fires have been on purpose, others on accident. Regardless, why hasn’t Congress and the President gotten involved and solved this issue? Is it too much to ask to ban fire, at least massive fire? I can walk in to any gas station in fact and buy matches and a few gallons of fuel and the cashier would not even ask for an I.D. or any sort of permits. No...

MOSCOW — Russian health care is getting a jolt of Soviet-style management in the northern city of St. Petersburg. The prosaically named Hospital No. 31, once reserved for the Communist Party elite of Leningrad, is to be closed to the public again after more than 20 years, on orders from the Kremlin — this time, to become the exclusive medical center for the nation’s top judges. But doctors and supporters of the hospital are furious and are vowing to fight its closure every way they can. They point out that it is among the top hospitals in the city, and...

At the Angelus, Benedict XVI invites prayers for Week dedicated to Christian Unity (18-25 January). This year's theme, "What the Lord requires of us" (cf. I 6.6 to 8), was chosen and developed by an ecumenical group in India. On January 25, Vespers at St. Paul Outside the Walls, along with representatives of the Christian Churches. A prayer for peace for "an end to the massacres of unarmed civilians, to all violence, and to find the courage of dialogue and negotiation."Vatican City (AsiaNews) - "One of the most serious sins that disfigures the face of the Church is its visible...

The ennui that hangs over the second inauguration of President Obama like a thick blanket of fog is not simply a function of Republican weariness and wariness after four years of fights with the president. Democrats too are less than thrilled on this august occasion. As my colleague Dana Milbank put it, Obama’s agenda looks “little.” The certitude that he will accomplish significant things is nowhere to be found. Those who made the case for his reelection seem almost wistful. The Post editorial board writes, “We hope, given the opportunity, he will rededicate himself to being a president who is...

Featured Term (selected at random):AXIOLOGY A theory that studies the nature, norms, and meaning of value as that which is desired for being good. Axiology has in modern times sought to replace the traditional ethics and aesthetics, and has sought to lay new foundations for both. The object of ethics is said to be the subjective realization of value, whereas aesthetics is the representation of values. (Etym. Greek axios, worth, worthy + logia, science, knowledge.) “On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord. On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas that for far too long have strangled our politics.” President Barack Obama spoke these words four years ago to a captive nation -- a nation that believed hope could lead to change they could believe in. Change did indeed come to America, but not the change many people envisioned. While we may have a lot of new laws (and debt)...

Could Chuck Hagel, the man President Obama wants to become Secretary of Defense, secretly be a pawn of George Soros? It is a question that liberals would not bear hearing, and one that many conservatives, no doubt, would not bear going unanswered. And indeed, evidence has come to light suggesting that the answer to this question may incline toward the positive. Specifically, a recent report by Aaron Klein of KleinOnline suggests the following about the would-be defense secretary: Former Sen. Chuck Hagel, President Obama’s nominee for defense secretary, serves on the board of a George Soros-funded group that advocates a...

New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd spoke in such illustrious language about the "brilliant" president and his "super-brain" that she even bowled over Obama fan Mika Brzezinski who exclaimed: "Now that's love!" Appearing on the Monday edition of MSNBC's Morning Joe, Dowd predicted that "five years from now" the Morning Joe crew will be gushing about Obama's "brilliant political memoir" but then lamented that they would look back and ask: "Why couldn't he have applied that super-brain to Washington and gotten it to work better?"

Austrians voted to keep military conscription on Sunday, bucking a trend towards replacing conscripts with professional armies in Western Europe that began with the end of the Cold War. The neutral Alpine nation that once stood at the frontier between the Warsaw Pact and NATO voted 60 percent in favor of maintaining the draft, which is seen as binding civil society to the military and instilling a sense of citizenship in young men. The result is a blow to Chancellor Werner Faymann's Social Democrats, who had argued a smaller, professional force would be more suited to modern military reality, more...

Exclusive: Chuck Norris shares effective strategy for protecting little children (Editor’s note: This is Part 1 of Chuck Norris’ two-part series on reducing violent crime in the U.S.) Last week, I made an audio recording endorsing the re-election of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel’s general election on Jan. 22. I explained in the endorsement, “You might think I’m a tough guy in my films, but in a rough neighborhood like the Middle East, Israel has his own tough guy. His name is Bibi Netanyahu” (the prime minister’s nickname). Netanyahu’s leadership and strength were evident as far back as 1967,...

I’ve had fun documenting and comparing examples of government stupidity in both the United States and United Kingdom, and today’s story clearly belongs on those lists. Send this kid to a re-education camp! It’s also an example of a perverse anti-gun mentality. How else can you explain a school in Talbot County, Maryland, suspending a couple of young boys for the supposedly horrible offense of making gun shapes with their fingers while playing cops and robbers?!?Here are some of the details from a local news report. There’s controversy at a Talbot County school after two 6-year-old boys were suspended while playing cops...

Colin Powell Slams ‘Idiot Presentations’ by Some Republicans, Urges GOP Leaders to ‘Speak Out’ In an interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos during ABC’s special inauguration day coverage this morning, former Secretary of State Colin Powell lashed out at people in the Republican Party who spent the last four years spreading “birther nonsense” and other “things that demonize the president,” calling on GOP leaders to denounce such talk — publicly. “Republicans have to stop buying into things that demonize the president. I mean, why aren’t Republican leaders shouting out about all this birther nonsense and all these other...

Exclusive: Pamela Geller blasts Obama for lack of leadership in 'act of war' The Algerian hostage crisis came to a bloody end Saturday when Special Forces stormed the BP gas complex after the jihadists executed their non-Muslim POWs. At least 81 people have been killed, including two Americans. They were holding more than 600, but they released all the Muslims, saying “they did not want to hurt Muslims. Some locals were forced to recite parts of the Koran to prove they were Muslims.” The jihadists called their non-Muslim hostages “kuffar,” an ugly word meaning unbelievers. One Muslim hostage said: “Us...
