I am having an email conversation with a writer who identifies himself as an Envoy Extraordinary of the Institut De La Vie, Fondation Mondaile, located somewhere in Switzerland. I have been unable to find any reference on the Web to this group, save an oblique reference to a Maurice Marios. The page describes all sorts of wonderful, internationally-recognized, humanistic accomplishments for the Fondation. To be honest, it sounds like a lot of gobbledygook. Can anyone point me to some info on this group?

Boeing Co. workers in North Charleston voted overwhelmingly to disband their union in a move that could give the region an edge in landing an aircraft plant the company is looking to build. Of the 267 ballots cast, 199 were in favor of decertifying the election that made them members of the International Association of Machinists. The company was pleased; the union was disappointed. The local plant makes rear fuselage sections for Boeing's 787, a new fast-selling lightweight jet that has been delayed by snags with suppliers and an eight-week strike last year by the IAM. Boeing has said it...

I know flop sweat when I see it, and Obama and his fellow travelers in the White House, Congress, and the media are in full flop sweat mode. On the outside they are attempting to show that they are in complete control of their government/CARE campaign, but among themselves they are splintering in panic. The first sign of panic is the urge to run away, and run away is what BHO did. He ran to Minnesota, the land of 10,000 loons to get his needed fix of adoration. BHO, clearly a “Tea Party Denier” , had a full measure of...

I have to say that recently Glen Beck has been very brave in coming out against this administration and its radical czars. He's been great!!! If Glenn is for Conservatives in the Republican party taking back this nation to it's founding I am all for it and will back his show 100%. What scares me is that Glenn is always premising things like its both parties and thats where he loses me and helps Obama's radical agenda coming into the 2010 elections. Glen, since the bailout blitz has begun Republicans in House and Senate have been opposed to all this...

If someone calls you out as a liar, and you respond “no, it is not true” – in my book, you just called the person a liar in a polite way. Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) – send money here – called out President Obama, Obama then called Wilson a liar, and then on Friday night the Senate took a closer look at the health care legislation and quietly added a citizenship requirement.

There is a new President in town and he is willing to say and do anything in order to get his health care bill passed. The Democrats and their bedfellows, the mainstream media, are with him all the way. Their aim is to make sure this President is treated like royalty, never held accountable for what he says and does, and that he gets his health care bill passed. Together, this love triangle of power has created their own set of rules regarding the President, a protocols of lyin'. Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats take note. Congressman Joe Wilson, did...

Berkeley has finally come up with an answer to the question posed by the annual parade: How Berkeley Can You Be? The answer is: Very Berkeley - as long as you don't sell beer off the back of floats, toss candy to kids or walk naked down University Avenue. Those restrictions, plus some unexpected permit fees, ended the 13-year run of the How Berkeley Can You Be? parade and festival, a bacchanalian romp through downtown that featured everything from flame throwers to Nobel laureates to motorized couches. Daunted by the new restrictions, organizers have decided to cancel the event, slated...

Obama Lies Catalogued by www.HumanEvents.com Congressman shouts "you lie" during Obama's speech. Was he right? Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) issued an apology after his outburst, "you lie," toward President Obama during his health care speech to Congress on Wednesday. "I let my emotions get the best of me," Wilson said in a statement. "I extend sincere apologies to the president." We commend Wilson for his quick humility. But questions remain: Did Obama tell lies during the speech? Was Wilson right after all? And why doesn't Obama apologize just as quickly for calling conservatives liars? In their fact-checking, the press confirmed...

10,000 More Troops for Yangkang By Lee Sung Jin [2009-09-14 15:27 ] Changchun, China -- According to inside sources, North Korea has decided to increase the size of the 10th Army Corps, which is stationed in Yangkang Province. Intended to expand the size of the force in the North Korea-China border region by 10,000, this is the first decision of its kind since the dispatching of the 9th Army Corps to North Hamkyung Province in 1995 to settle the 6th Army Corps coup d’etat conspiracy. An inside Yangkang Province source told Daily NK on the 11th, “The National Defense Commission...

CHARLESTON (AP) – Republican U.S. Sens. John McCain and Lindsey Graham said Monday that President Barack Obama should act quickly to send additional troops to Afghanistan for the war against the Taliban. McCain, of Arizona, told reporters after a town hall meeting on health care at the military college The Citadel that the president knows what's needed and he should make the decision immediately. "Then we'll work with him to sell it to the American people who are understandably weary of the conflict," McCain said.

The Chinese are upset, once more, with the Indian establishment. This time it's because the Dalai Lama is planning to visit Tawang, in Arunachal Pradesh, and New Delhi is unlikely to stop him from doing so. China, which lays claim on Arunachal Pradesh, wants India to prevent the exiled Tibetan leader from entering the state. Just last year, the Dalai Lama had to cancel his visit to the same area as the Indian administration denied him permission, reportedly under pressure from China. But this time, New Delhi is standing firm. China has gone back on the guiding principles the two...

Republicans are now benefiting from the tens of thousands of angry white people who descended on Washington over the weekend—but they’ve tapped into something ugly that they can’t control, says John Avlon. The weirdness of the Wingnut summer isn’t over. The anger has metastasized into the body politic, and it’s going to get a lot uglier from here. Obama Derangement Syndrome is establishing itself as a potent political force, able to rally tens of thousands of citizens to the Washington Mall after Glenn Beck’s call. Joe Wilson’s outburst isn’t an embarrassment of incivility to these folks; it is a rallying...

Not everyone at the NBC Universal umbrella of networks got the gag order memo about the Sept. 12 march on Washington, D.C. Rick Santelli, who has been a target of the Obama White House and is credited with being the inspiration for the 2009 tea party movement, spoke out about how the media ignored the march. But, a year after the fall of Lehman Brothers, he was making the larger point that the government's intervention to thwart a financial crisis had been an ineffectual and potentially dangerous maneuver at the expense of taxpayers. ...more (w/video)...

LONDON (Reuters) - A group of schoolchildren who reared a lamb from birth and named it Marcus has overridden objections by parents and rights activists and voted to send the animal to slaughter. Marcus the six-month-old lamb has now been culled, the head teacher of the primary school in Kent confirmed on Monday, after the school's council -- a 14-member group of children aged 6 to 11 -- voted 13-1 to have him killed. The decision has provoked fury among animal-loving celebrities, animal and human rights campaigners and the parents of some of the children, and led to threats against...

2nd Generation Ultra-Portable Yesterday AMD introduced two new mobile platforms that they are hoping will help expand their presence in the mobile sector. These releases address the mainstream market as well as the ultra-thin (though not quite net book). While AMD has struggled to compete with Intel in the mobile space, their CPU offerings have taken a back seat to the Core 2 series of chips. Where AMD has thrived though is in the quality of their integrated chipsets. With these new offerings AMD is expected to be a lot more competitive with the Core 2 products, and on...

Alleged comedian Bill Maher followed in the footsteps of shock jock Don Imus with a "ho" joke, this one targeting Michelle Obama. It came in the context of Maher accusing DRUDGE of "subliminal racism" by posting a headline that read "Poll Hell: Obama Negs Rise." After trying to stretch "Negs" to represent the "n" word, provoking laughter from only a few among his audience, Maher showed several ficticious DRUDGE headlines. One fine one displayed Michelle Obama working with a garden tool in what may have been a ceremonial tree planting. The made-up caption read "Hoein' The Garden." That provoked groans...
