Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich defended President Barack Obama’s speech to school children Tuesday, urging “every child” to read the remarks. Some conservative critics have accused the president of trying to “indoctrinate” school children with a speech Tuesday welcoming students back to school, but Gingrich said during an interview on NBC’s “Today Show” that the attacks are without merit. “President Reagan did it, President George H.W. Bush did it,” he said. “I read the speech yesterday when it was posted and I think the White House was smart to post it.” “It’s a good speech,” Gingrich added. “I recommend it...

The linked video - from the Obama admin-linked ThinkProgress.org - shows Rep. Jean Schmidt in conversation with a constituent about whether Obama is eligible to be president apparently in regards to the natural born citizen issue. Schmidt then says "I agree with you, but the courts don't". Does this mean that Schmidt is now a "Birther" and won't be invited to any GOP cocktail parties, or is there another explanation? The video also illustrates that the Dems are going to jump on anything remotely "Birther"-ish, and the plan by the GOP leadership and lower-level hacks to push away "Birthers" only...

In 1981, a year after the death of ex-Yugoslavia's communist dictator, Josip Broz Tito, events in Medjugorje, a small town in Bosnia-Hercegovina, began to stir the Christian world. Six Croatian Catholic children-four girls and two boys, then aged from ten to sixteen-claimed to have experienced visions of the Virgin Mary. Even now, after twenty-eight years, three of the Medjugorje seers still report nightly visitations, usually around 6:40 local time, according to their official website. One of them, Ivan Dragicevic, who was sixteen years old when the apparitions commenced, holds prayer sessions on Mondays and Fridays, at 10:00, with additional communications...

"Obama is fast losing white voters' support".A reasonable person might expect the punchline to be either that the manifest decline in Obama's approval ratings is particularly steep among white voters, or that race-related issues are responsible for Obama's current slump. A reasonable person would then click on the chart accompanying the article and discover...

Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio) may be the worst stage whisperer in recent American political history. At a Labor Day tea party event in Cincinnati, Schmidt was approached by a slightly unhinged constituent who wanted to know why she wans't demanding to see President Obama's birth certificate. ThinkProgress happened to have a tracker hovering nearby, who recorded the exchange, which captures the wink-wink game some GOP pols are playing with the birther fringe. "You can't be a president..." the woman shouts as a Schmidt supporter tries to get in between the camera guy and the participants. Schmidt them tries to get...

Former Governor Sarah Palin created quite a firestorm last month when she issued a statement concerning "death panels" hidden inside pending healthcare legislation. As a result, she was asked to participate in the New York State Senate Aging Committee’s hearing regarding H.R. 3200, America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009. On Tuesday, she sent her written testimony to Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz, the chairman of the committee. Given how her last opinion on this matter was treated by Obama-loving media, it's going to be fascinating to see how this gets covered in the next 24 hours, especially with the President...

Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz Chair, New York Senate Aging Committee Legislative Office Building Room 307 Albany, NY 12247 September 8, 2009 RE: H.R. 3200: America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 and Its Impact on Senior Citizens Dear Senator Diaz, Thank you for asking me to participate in the New York State Senate Aging Committee’s hearing regarding H.R. 3200, “America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009.” You and I share a commitment to ensuring that our health care system is not “reformed” at the expense of America’s senior citizens. I have been vocal in my opposition to Section 1233 of...

September 8, 2009The Blogger Who Nailed Van Jones Cliff Kincaid If the Van Jones resignation is blamed on his statements about Republicans and 9/11, a great lesson will have been lost. As we argued in a previous column, “It’s the communism, stupid.†If people don’t recognize the dangers of having a communist in the White House, then the nature of the scandal will not have been understood. Blogger Trevor Loudon of New Zealand broke the story on April 6th and has some thoughts on what happened and where this story is heading.  His main point is that Van...

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has filed a lawsuit against an unknown person using the Internet screen name "Elmer Fudd," claiming the person posted false and defamatory information about the organization on discussion boards hosted by The Sun News. The posts, which appeared on the comment sections of several stories last week, claimed the Horry County Sheriff's Department had conducted raids at the chamber and other businesses. The posts also claimed that computers were seized from those businesses, although a sheriff's department spokesman said no raids occurred and no computers were seized. "The claims were absolutely false," said...

DURANT — A bad breakup or a lovers’ quarrel are the leading theories Bryant County officials have for finding nearly $500,000 worth of someone’s property strewn about a Durant area street last week. Just as surprising as the overall value was the property itself: 236 potted, high-grade marijuana plants. "Strangest thing I’ve ever seen,” said Chuck Carroll, field supervisor for the District 19 Drug Task Force. "That (a domestic dispute) is the first thing that came to our minds. Someone wanted this marijuana to be found.” "We got a county commissioner to dig us a hole and furnish some diesel,...

In the late 1970s, a group of Episcopal clergymen with typical American chutzpah wrote to Pope Paul VI. They said they wanted to become Catholics, and wished for their priestly ministry to be fulfilled by being ordained as Catholic priests. The only problem was that they had wives and children. Paul VI received their petition, and they heard nothing. In the autumn of 1978, the pope died; then another pope died, and John Paul II took charge. The little group of Episcopal priests waited with crossed fingers and bated breath while Rome made a decision. In 1980...

Health-care stocks, not the easiest investment to decipher at the best of times, are now giving shareholders something else to consider: a bump in insider sales last month. Executives and board members at health-care companies sold an above-average number of shares in August, particularly at smaller cap, Nasdaq-listed stocks, according to TrimTabs Investment Research analysis provided to MarketWatch. MarketWatch Hot Stocks: Health care Health insurers' stocks advance Friday ahead of President Barack Obama's bid to overhaul the health-care system when he addresses a joint session of Congress next week. The analysis, which looked at the more than 10,000 stocks with...

Very quickly, as his subsequent career attests in a variety of “organizing” jobs, Van Jones discovered that he could tease and provoke white liberals by posing as some sort of wild (but actually quite safe) revolutionary figure who would call America an “apartheid” system, or dream of a “redistribution of wealth” or praise the advantages of social revolution through hip hop music (”I don’t believe the true power of the people can be confined to a ballot box…We need to be about the whup-ass. Somebody’s f***in up somewhere… They have names and job descriptions. You have to be creative about...

This ABC News Video broadcast live on 9/11 proves that WTC 7, World Trade Center Building 7, was damaged by falling debris from the collapse of the WTC Twin Towers. There is a huge controversy over the cause of the collapse of WTC Bldb 7, whether from the terrorist attack or from a government conspiracy with Dick Cheney, Larry Silverstein or the Mossad. Investigators report that WTC7 was massively damaged by the collapse of the twin towers, on the lower floors. This video DOES NOT show the lower floors through the smoke, where the severe damage was reported by firefighters....

Orly Taitz asked special permission to depose Lucas Smith on the spot. The defense argued Plaintiff had sprung an ambush witness and they hadn't been allowed to prepare deposition questions. Carter ruled against immediate deposition of Smith. Orly Taitz argued strenuously for the deposition stating Smith feared for his life. Taitz also asked for Witness Protection for Smith. I'm not clear where that stands. Taitz asked for an earlier trial date sooner than 1/26/10 giving her reasons as death threats against herself and witnesses, the likelihood of more evidence disappearing, and the possibility of witnesses being killed before they can...

Here's something you may not have heard for a while: "Tel Aviv is built on destroyed Palestinian villages." Credit for this historical observation goes to an ad hoc committee of artists and filmmakers heaping scorn on the Toronto International Film Festival for daring to program a Tel Aviv segment, as Israel's biggest city marks its 100th anniversary. In an open letter – "The Toronto Declaration: No Celebration of Occupation" – the signatories condemn TIFF for showcasing Tel Aviv, comparing it to the way a propagandist would sanitize "white-only Cape Town or Johannesburg during apartheid."

Things seem to be unraveling quickly for the new administration. The latest unemployment numbers are worse than the last reports. For all the billions of dollars spent and committed to fixing our economic problems, the situation is only getting worse. This was to be expected by those who understand the root causes of the problems. Throwing money around and creating more government programs is both simplistic and damaging to the economy. Of course, the administration claims that we would have been much worse off without these efforts. You can’t improve this situation by adding to our mountain of public debt...

The RICO Act is defined as “Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations”. Most commonly, RICO is used in organized crime, such as the mafia, biker gangs and other groups of notorious felons. However, it is also most appropriate in the case of B. Hussein Obama. His actions have been that of a man involved in interstate crime.
