Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-OH) to a birther: "I agree with you"
Youtube ^ | 9/8/09 | ThinkProgress video/self

Posted on 09/08/2009 3:59:28 PM PDT by lonewacko_dot_com

The linked video - from the Obama admin-linked ThinkProgress.org - shows Rep. Jean Schmidt in conversation with a constituent about whether Obama is eligible to be president apparently in regards to the natural born citizen issue. Schmidt then says "I agree with you, but the courts don't". Does this mean that Schmidt is now a "Birther" and won't be invited to any GOP cocktail parties, or is there another explanation?

The video also illustrates that the Dems are going to jump on anything remotely "Birther"-ish, and the plan by the GOP leadership and lower-level hacks to push away "Birthers" only helps the Dems and the MSM. More on that here.

And, it also shows that those who push the N.B.C. issue have no real clue about how to find out whether their claims are valid or not. Simply saying here or in conversation with your representative that you have a valid point just isn't effective. If you think the N.B.C. concerns are valid, you have to get authorities to take your side. And, there are only two ways to do that: get a Supreme Court case, or get a good number of recognized legal scholars to weigh in. The only group that can get the latter to happen is the MSM, yet those who push the N.B.C. line aren't trying to force the MSM to report on this issue. The way to force the MSM to do real reporting on this issue is to hold them accountable for the cut-and-dried lies they've told about the certificate issue, yet those who push the N.B.C. line not only refuse to help with that, they undercut my attempts by referring to the certificate issue as a "red herring".

If those who push the N.B.C. issue want their issue to break through, force the MSM to do real reporting on that issue by helping me discredit the MSM over the lies they've told about the certificate side of things.

The title you created

"Jean Schmidt revealed as closet Birther! (Or, maybe not)"

did not match the title at the source you linked and had to be changed. We are attempting to reduce the number of threads we have to pull and have been asking everyone to just use published titles.

Don’t get too excited. We don’t call her “Half-Wit” Schmidt for nothing. She all about what is good for Jeannie. If this starts to become a problem for her she’ll stumble away from it in her usual buffoonish manner.

It reveals how the current crop of politicos view the “courts” - i.e., as having the final say.

“We the people” have been complacent in ensuring our representatives hold partisan and activist judges and justices accountable.

One more reason to dump them and, if necessary, randomly pick American Citizens from the voter roles. (I’m being facetious, but you get my point)

Why did the so-called “birthers” start this nonsense without one shred of evidence that Obama was born anywhere else but Hawaii. His Certificate of Live Birth says he was born in Hawaii, the head doctor at the hospital, who examined the records, said he was born in Hawaii. I’m conservative on a lot of things, but I’m not going to take the birthers seriously.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I first started covering this when a WaPo writer lied about the basic facts of the matter back in June 2008:

http://24ahead.com/blog/archives/007788.html

I didn’t get any help with discrediting the MSM over their lies then, and I’m not getting any help now despite the fact that it could be used to discredit a wide range of not-very-nice people.

Also, regarding your statements:
1. No gov’t agency has authenticated the picture of a COLB shown on Obama’s site.
2. You don’t have the occupation of the person who examined the records right. And, her first statement on 10/31/08 was ambiguous and for the next eight months she took no steps to resolve that ambiguity or point out that others were putting words in her mouth. Her second statement was more clear cut, but it included her rhetorically stalking off at the end.

You said: “Why did the so-called “birthers” start this nonsense without one shred of evidence that Obama was born anywhere else but Hawaii”

Well because he tried to pass of something that was inconsistent with what the rest of have and know to be a “Birth Certificate”.

The so called COLB has many flaws with it:

  • His father’s race could never have been listed as “African”.  That was not the nomenclature at all, in the 1960’s.  So that begins the suspicion of a fraudulent document.
  •  The COLB is also cropped in many of the pictures that claim it is a scan.  If it is a scan, why not leave the document and size intact?
  • The COLB also has no artifacts such paper folds.  A scan does not make those disappear and in fact will highlight them.
  • The COLB that is scanned mysteriously does not show the Seal of Hawaii.  Why?  Because it was computer generated and not scanned.  Guess they forgot to add that back in.
  • More over, many of us are concerned and want to know why he wasted time producing a document that is inconsistent with what we know a Birth Certificate looks like.

The best part and even more confusing is why he didn't release any of the three Birth Certificates we know already existed before 2007.

  • His kindergarten records and the BC, that should be there, have mysteriously disappeared.
  • The BC he used to get into college, apply for loans and most definitely used for his passport. That wasn't available?
  • Why couldn't he just present the one he found among his mother's belongings upon her death.   He waxed on and wondered about it and his father in one of his books.  Why not post that one?

Those were most certainly BC’s and not a COLB. There is no reason to create confusion but, for the fact he is hiding something. That something will be discovered, though and this is a long process.

It would have been nice to get a hold of it before the election but I think most thought we were going to end up with Hillary.

Hope no one brings up some house fire that vaporized his BC.  That was in 1972 and none of the documents listed here would have been affected by that “fishy” event.

Then you said “the head doctor at the hospital, who examined the records, said he was born in Hawaii”

Really?  Who said that and when?  The truth is it was never said and there is no doctor of whatever hospital you are referring to that examined anything.

At the time of the drafting and ratification of the United States constitution, the definition of natural born citizen, combined both principles of jus soli and jus sanguinis.

“The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens. As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights. The society is supposed to desire this, in consequence of what it owes to its own preservation; and it is presumed, as matter of course, that each citizen, on entering into society, reserves to his children the right of becoming members of it. The country of the fathers is therefore that of the children; and these become true citizens merely by their tacit consent. We shall soon see whether, on their coming to the years of discretion, they may renounce their right, and what they owe to the society in which they were born. I say, that, in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country.”
Emmerich Vattel, Law of Nations, § 212. Of the citizens and natives

I don't think it was coincidence that Obama's poll numbers really started plumetting when the BC issue was the lead story, Lou Dobbs was hammering it and asking for Obi to just show it, and that brave soldier was refusing to be deployed because of constitutional issues with Obroma.

Americans began distrusting the marxist and then started looking closer at all the garbage that he and the democrats are rushing through to law.

Everyone who cares about preserving our constitution needs to demand the certificate be shown. They also need to demand that their state put in laws that require a long form BC before a candidate can be put on their states presidential ballot. That might stop Obi at one term.

Let's see a source link for that doctor's statement, please.
