George Boggs thought he was doing police a favor last week when he handed over the firearm he kept in his car after he was in a wreck. Boggs has a permit to carry a concealed weapon, and he wanted his handgun secured while he went to the hospital, he said. The permit requires him to notify police of his weapon. On Monday, when he went to the Fayetteville Police Department to retrieve his gun, he couldn't get it back. He was told that police first wanted to fire the gun to see if the spent shell casing and round...

Here is video tonight of the Fox News Special Report Panel talking about Van Jones, President Obama's "Green Jobs Czar," who is under fire for a whole range of radical statements and views over the course of his life. Charles Krauthammer said the news today that Jones signed onto a 9/11 "Truther" Document is "devastating." Mara Liasson seems to think Jones will survive for awhile, since this news is hitting just before a holiday weekend. She also equated the "truthers" with the "birthers," something Brett Baier and Charles Krauthammer did not agree with. Stephen Hayes said Jones is "clearly a...

I came across a news item in the USA Today website, dated August 18, that got my attention. It concerns "Dark Energy", the mysterious force that seems to be speeding up the expansion of the universe, that no one can find or explain. Two scientists say is doesn't exist now because of a "mathematical solution they have produced, that suggests it is a natural result of the Big Bang. Part of the article is reproduced here. "What's the answer? It doesn't exist, suggest mathematicians Blake Temple and Joel Smoller, in a study released Monday by the Proceedings of the National...

Kimchi brings both health and beauty, according to devotees trying to promote South Korea's most famous food -- a pickled and fermented vegetable dish -- to the wider world. "You know why there are so many beautiful women in Korea and Korean women have such smooth skin? It's because they have been grown on kimchi," claims Kim Sung-Hoon, who chairs an upcoming Gwangju Kimchi Festival. "If you want to age gracefully and have beautiful skin, eat Korean kimchi," said Kim, a former agriculture minister. Such assertions are not new given kimchi's iconic status -- it has its own museum in...

September 4, 2009 British National Party forced to admit non-whites Nick Griffin, the BNP leader, blamed Britain?s 'undemocratic Orwellian equality laws' for the change Fiona Hamilton, London Correspondent The British National Party is poised to give up its whites-only membership policy after a legal challenge accusing it of racial discrimination. Nick Griffin, leader of the far-right party, indicated yesterday that the BNP would accept members of different ethnicities for the first time, blaming Britain’s “undemocratic Orwellian equality laws”. In a statement published on the BNP’s website, Mr Griffin said that the party would have to adapt or die, even though...

Jeff Niles asked his local police chief about his ability to openly carry a gun a few months ago. The response from the Police Chief to Jeff was essentially no you can’t carry a gun because Milton has a local ordinance that prohibits open carry. However Jeff knew the ordinance was unenforceable and he was just trying to determine if the Police Chief knew the ordinance was unenforceable as well. It turns out the Chief apparently did not know that Wisconsin Stat. § 66.0409 (local regulation of firearms) effectively repealed the local ordinance which prohibited citizens from carrying a gun,...

Large thighs 'may protect heart' The crucial measurement is taken just below the bottom Men and women with thighs over 60cm (23.6in) in circumference have a lower risk of heart disease and early death, a study of 3,000 people suggests. The relationship remains even when body fat, smoking and blood cholesterol are taken into account, a Danish team says. Those with narrow thighs may not have enough muscle mass to deal with insulin properly, raising the risk of diabetes and, in turn, heart disease, they say. Experts cautioned that the research needed corroborating. Some said it was too early to...

Since 2008, former Chicago Public Schools’ CEO, Arne Duncan, has been calling for residential schools that afford Chicago Public Schools (CPS) students the opportunity to learn in safe, academically-challenging environments, free from negative influences and distractions from education. Residential schools, also called boarding schools, allow students to live and learn together well beyond the traditional school day. The underlying premise of the residential education model is that early preparation for the academic rigor and independent living of the college experience, especially for students who are the first in their families to attend college, offers an advantage when they embark on...

A school security officer in Virginia who told a protester opposing President Obama's health-care plan that America is "no more" remains employed, but is now under investigation because of his statements, according to his school district. "I have to say, I've seen the video. We do not condone what the officer did say," Paul Regnier, the coordinator of communications and community relations for Fairfax County Public Schools told WND today. WND reported earlier when the YouTube video showing school Security Officer Wesley Cheeks Jr. objecting to a protest sign carried at a town-hall meeting held by Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va....

SAN FRANCISCO — With the close of this year’s legislative session fast approaching, a bill that would ban gun shows at the Cow Palace in Daly City is expected to go before the state Assembly by Sept. 11. SB 585, authored by Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, was approved in a 21-18 vote by the state Senate in June. The local community — the Cow Palace sits on the border of San Mateo County and San Francisco — doesn’t like the gun shows because they encourage illegal gun sales and violence, Leno told The Examiner. The location is near Sunnydale...

In Holland for the last week, ostensibly on work but also to suss out how things were in the heartland of Eurabia. My host was my long time friend Hubert, both of us ex-Communists. The ‘ex’ deriving from our time spend several decades ago in some of the Workers’ Paradises of Eastern Europe. Even now I'm looking at a CD ‘Best Of Communist Marching Songs’ Oh dear! Anyway, that was a long, long time ago. Hubert had lined up a wide range of people to meet, including those from the multiculti wing right over to Dutch nationalists. My first physical...

Republicans overwhelmingly believe that Congress is too liberal, a view shared by 59% of those not affiliated with either major party. A plurality of Democrats have a different view. Thirty-nine percent (39%) of Democrats say Congress is too conservative, 19% too liberal, and 26% about right. Middle income earners are more likely than others to see Congress as too liberal. Among those who earn between $40,000 and $100,000 a year, 64% hold that view.

In the Olympics of car ownership, Rachel Veitch of Orlando, Fla., is a marathoner of the first order, with a record virtually impossible to match. For one thing, Veitch is still driving at the age of 91. For another, she has had her 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente for 45 years, racking up about 559,000 miles on it. Together, Veitch and her car have outlasted her three husbands -- a feat surely worth of a footnote in the annals of automotive history. This happened for a simple reason: A retired nurse, Veitch likes to keep things in good working order --...

A Muslim community leader who claimed he was kidnapped from his home at knifepoint and dumped in woodland after a BNP hate campaign has been arrested for perverting the course of justice. Noor Ramjanally, 36, alleged that he was abducted by two men, bundled into a car boot, driven to Epping Forest in Essex and ordered to stop his religious work. The BNP had been accused of whipping up racial tensions in the area after it issued an inflammatory leaflet about Mr Ramjanally's Islamic community group - the first in Loughton. His alleged ordeal became a cause celebre among the...

Back on November 20, 2008, I had reported on a posting from attorney Leo Donofrio in which he brought up the concept that an individuals’ at-birth citizenship is what counts when it comes to determining an ambitious individual’s eligibility regarding Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5. It has recently been shown — first via TheBirthers.org and then by Mr. Donofrio — and even reported in the Sonoran News that there appears to be a few problems in FactCheck.org’s reporting over whether or not Mr. Obama did, in fact, lose his Kenyan and/or British citizenship. From TheBirthers’ main page: Something FactCheck...

Muslims are what make America great, if President Obama is to be believed. At a White House interfaith dinner honoring Ramadan on Tuesday, he said that "the contribution of Muslims to the United States are too long to catalog because Muslims are so interwoven into the fabric of our communities and our country." We would be intrigued to see that long list and to learn more about how Muslims have been part of the woof and warp of America.

In May 2006, a small group of mayors, including ousted Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels, were invited to a “summit” in New York by Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino to found Mayors Against Illegal Guns. The purported idea was to get so-called “illegal guns” off the streets; a lofty goal for sure, but might it not be a better idea to get criminals off the streets instead? Of course, removing a criminal element from society has never been the MAIG goal. This group, which now boasts more than 400 members claiming to represent 56 million American citizens –...

Never the two shall meet. In the Aug. 6 edition of the Las Vegas Sun, readers saw an op-ed by Harry Reid. "I have never taken up the Washington hobby of pointing fingers for political gain," reassured Nevada's eminently reasonable, bipartisan, four-term senator. A few hours later, Mr. Reid appeared for the national press, armed with a piece of Astroturf, to berate town-hall protestors as captive to "Internet rumor mongers and insurance rackets." The Republican Party "is run by a talk-show host," snapped Washington's eminently angry and partisan majority leader.

Right Side News was in Richmond, Virginia today and attended the Energy Citizens Rally at the Westin. When we arrived there were a handful of "green" protesters having a peaceful demonstration. We counted five. Approaching the front entrance, there were 2 of Henrico County's finest to monitor security. We had been looking forward to this since hearing about it a week ago. There is alot of uproar and Town Hall meeting activity concerning "Health Care Reform" but not as much "heat" on the Cap and Trade movement. Health Care is "personal" and the idea of the Federal Government mandating "health...
