This was the best Hardball I've seen in a long time. The show had Chris Matthews, Dee Dee Meyers and Christopher Hitchens taking on the Clinton Crime Family. It had us cracking up! It was on CNBC, the last half of the 9PM EST show. It will be re-run at 11PM EST on CNBC...HARDBALL. This was pure un-cut Hitchens....what a shot from the hip, take no prisoners guy!

Banning Whatever ...A Message from a Wiccan by Spirit Explorer It seems to be the sign of the times for some group somewhere to propose the banning of something or another because either they don't like or approve of it or because it supposedly made someone do something that was illegal. Well I am here to state emphatically that I am sick and tired of this trend in our country and think that it needs to be stopped because it has already gotten out of hand. It is because of this trend that we have had the upsurge of "Politically ...

Just a thought....Since we the people fired King George after one term, can he serve another term in the future?I mean wouldn't it be prudent to keep King George warmed up in the bullpen, in the event Prince George stumbles? I know young Jeb's in the shadows, but the boy needs more time on the vine. Right?

O'Reilly had a guest on tonight, who made a linkage between Clintoon and Hal Haddon, who represents John Ramsey. I apologize if everyone on this site knows this but me, but apparently Hal Haddon does His Royal Slicknesses taxes. The thrust of the interview was that intervention at the highest political levels have contributed to the "go slow" approach with respect to the Ramsey's involvement in the murder of their child. I cannot recount all of the other tortured details that led O'Reilly's guest to his conclusion, but I have stated the most compelling fact.

For education & discussion only. WASHINGTON, D.C., July 1 — Thank goodness the “rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air” this 4th of July come from the many displays of fireworks that light up American skies in celebration of freedom, rather than from U.S. troops fighting in the Balkans or defending our home turf. All across the land, old veterans and young marching band members hold the flag high as they parade through big cities and small towns, joining others who proclaim their patriotism and pay special attention to those who fought to defend their ...

During NATO's air campaign against Yugoslavia, millions of folks around the world got a daily television fix on how NATO air power was smashing the Serbian Army. Silver-tongued spinmeister Dr. Jamie Shea said things such as "We're knocking the stuffing out of Milosevic," and, NATO "is conducting the most accurate bombing campaign in history." The statistics he presented at the end of the fight were awesome: NATO pilots flew more than 35,000 sorties: 96.6 percent of their bombs hit their targets: 60 percent of Serb artillery and 40 percent of Serb tanks were damaged or destroyed; the Serb Army in ...

ANKARA [MENL] -- Twelve Kurdish insurgents were killed in a clash with Turkish military forces near the Iraqi border, the Anatolia news agency reported on Wednesday. The agency did not say when the clash took place. It said the fighting was in southeastern Turkey near the Iraqi border, a hotbed of insurgency. But the report came one day after the death sentence handed down on Kurdish Workers Party leader Abdullah Ocalan. Ocalan's PKK party has threatened revenge attacks on Turkish cities. Kurdish supporters continued demonstrations in Europe to protest the verdict against Ocalan. No violence was immediately reported. Hundreds of ...

For education and discussion only. Not for commercial use. WASHINGTON (AP) - In the polite parlance of the Senate, Majority Leader Trent Lott on Thursday dismissed Sen. Bob Smith's threat to hold up legislative business if negotiations are opened with the House on new gun control restrictions. Threat or no threat, Lott told reporters, negotiators will be appointed and the process will begin in mid-July. ``At some point, you have to go forward,'' Lott, R-Miss., told reporters at a news conference. He promised ``to talk to Senator Smith about how we go to conference.'' Smith, one of three senators ...

Veterans’ hospital becomes albatross By Tim O’Brien Six state representatives, constituting a self-proclaimed “task force,” recently convened the first of a promised series of public hearings about the all-but-abandoned former Veterans Administration hospital complex in Allen Park, Michigan. If the first hearing did anything, it was to discourage any notion that a practical solution to this albatross will come any time soon. To understand how an unassuming, little Downriver community came to merit such attention, a bit of historical background is necessary. In 1937, Henry and Clara Ford, in a show of patriotic generosity, donated 38 acres of property at ...

Web Group Announces Candidate Slate Almost from the moment the gavel fell on President Clinton's impeachment in the House, MoveOn.org, an online lobbying group that gained notoriety as a virtual clearinghouse for moderate Republican disdain toward the proceedings, set its sights on a new goal: electing Democrats. The group followed through last week, targeting five key races in its first mass solicitation of campaign gifts over the Internet for the 2000 elections. The group said $300,000 had been raised or pledged for their targeted races through yesterday, following Friday's appeal. In announcing its effort, the group claimed the appeal ...

Numbers were best available, officials say By Steven Komarow, USA TODAY Many of the figures used by the Clinton administration and NATO to describe the wartime plight of Albanians in Kosovo now appear greatly exaggerated as allied forces take control of the province. "Yes, there were atrocities. But no, they don't measure up to the advance billing," says House intelligence chairman Porter Goss, R-Fla. Instead of 100,000 ethnic Albanian men feared murdered by rampaging Serbs, officials now estimate that about 10,000 were killed. 600,000 ethnic Albanians were not "trapped within Kosovo itself lacking shelter, short of food, afraid to go ...

The treason of the intellectuals By Edward Said No one at all can doubt that what has transpired in Kosovo as a result both of Slobodan Milosevic's brutality and the NATO response has made matters a good deal worse than they were before the bombing. The cost in human suffering on all sides has been dreadful, and whether it is in the tragedy of the refugees or the destruction of Yugoslavia, no simple reckoning or remedy will be available for at least a generation, perhaps longer. As any displaced and dispossessed person can testify, there is no such thing as ...

(CNS) - Elected Democrats in California, in total control of state government for the first time in 16 years, are looking to implement voting changes they hope will keep them in office for many years to come. The state assembly is on the verge of passing legislation, which includes a same-day voters registration bill, allows paroled felons to vote, and requires all special elections to be held over a two-day period on weekends. The bill also forces polls to remain open until 9 p.m. The voter registration measure would allow anyone to register and vote on the same day ...
