Though the House hung a copy of the Ten Commandments around Mr. Clinton's neck last week when it approved a measure to give local and state governments the right to display the document, the residents of Brooksville, Alabama, population about 200, aren't waiting for Mr. Clinton to veto the measure. They are incorporating their community and have petitioned an Alabama court for permission to use the King James Bible as their town charter. The town's only ordinances will be the Ten Commandments.

Subject: Kathleen from San Jose Date: Thu, 1 Jul 1999 14:19:43 EDT From: GlynnC209@aol.com To: rush@eibnet.comThe following is an e-mail from one of the authors of prop 209 to Rush Limbaugh. Kathleen had just called Rush to object to GWB's refusal to endorse 209, and after the discussion Rush agreed with her, say there was nothing to run away from in 209, and Bush should be more forthcoming. Kathleen from San Jose pointed out that George W. Bush made California voters supporting Prop 209 look like they have done something wrong. She's right. Bush has insulted the millions of ...

DUMBING DOWN OUR KIDS Charles Sykes is the author of DUMBING DOWN OUR KIDS. He volunteered for high school and college graduates a list of eleven things they did not learn in school. In his book, he talks about how the liberal, feel good, politically correct garbage has created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and set them up for failure in the real world. The list: Rule 1: Life is not fair; get used to it. Rule 2: The world won't care about your self esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something before you ...

BASLE, Switzerland (Reuters) - The world's financial markets are still not ready for the Year 2000 change and much work still needs to be accomplished, the Joint Year 2000 Council at the Bank for International Settlements said Thursday. "The productive exchanges today between senior representatives of major public and private financial sector organizations made clear the significant progress on readiness being made in financial markets," Council Chairman Roger Ferguson was quoted as saying in a statement. "However, the meeting also indicated that much work is still to be accomplished; therefore we will need to remain focused in our efforts and ...

***AS THE FOURTH NEARS, I THINK WE'RE DOING FAIRLY WELL*** AUSTIN---As we once again approach our national natal day, there is much cause for celebration. Here in the home of the free and the land of the brave, the country where the president has survived the transformation of 10 oral encounters into an impeachment proceeding, we made it through all of last year, and we're all still here. And behaving rather well, it seems to me. Speaking on behalf of most of us, the majority of the polity, the general run of folks, Bubba 'n' them, I'd like to express ...

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Texas Gov. George W. Bush, banking a record $36 million for his presidential race, would be lining up with Republicans ``unanimously hostile'' to campaign finance reform if he rejects federal spending limits, President Clinton said today. ``The American people will have to make up their minds about whether this is an important issue or not,'' the president said. Bush broke ahead of the entire 2000 pack when he announced this week that he had raised over the last four months a stunning $36 million for Campaign 2000. Clinton's hand-picked successor, Vice President Al Gore, has raised ...

Has Ken Starr been blackmailed by the Clinton Justice Department into short-circuiting his prosecution of Webster Hubbell? That's the inference one might draw from what Judicial Watch Chairman Larry Klayman said on Monday: "With the recent offer of Janet Reno to drop all ethics probes of Starr's office if he and his prosecutors would end their investigations, as published a few weeks ago by Robert Suro in the Washington Post, it is clear the independent counsel is bailing out. It is sad to say that Starr's latest retreat coincides with the death of the independent counsel law this Wednesday." In ...

BOGOTA — Colombia's cocaine and heroin production is set to rise by as much as 50 percent as the U.S.-backed drug war flounders due largely to the growing strength of Marxist rebels, according to a new U.S. government report. The projection is a severe setback for the United States which funneled a record $280 million counternarcotics aid to Colombia this year, making it the third-biggest recipient of U.S. aid worldwide. "Active insurgent groups and their growing involvement in drug-trafficking activities over the past several years are complicating Colombia's ability to reduce drug-trafficking,'' the U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO) said in ...

Historical Institute of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts Slavenko Terzic, Ph. D. ALBANIAN ETHNIC CLEANSING OF THE OLD SERBIA The public all over the world, not only professional, but the large one too, has been faced in the course of the last decade with the inadmissible and incredible contortion of the historical truth about the Serbs, and Kosovo and Metohija as a central area of their civilization. There are quite a number of biased interpretations of certain events in Balkan and European history, but there are no similar examples of such immoral manipulation with historical facts. The Albanians in ...

Special Alert and Prayer Need On August 14, there will be an important straw poll in Ames, Iowa that will attract 12 to 14,000 Republicans from across the state.
