I'm not sure of the exact time and city but there was a situation in, I beleive Cincinati, when the city counsel passed a law requiring registration of all privately owned hanguns in the city. They told everyone that there was no need for anyone to fear this new requirement. There were no plans for future confiscation. So they said. At some time later, the counsel decided to ban a certain type of firearm, I beleive the so called "Saturday Night Special". Where did they start? They went to the database created during the handgun registration process to find the ...

THIS IS A SHAMELESS APPEAL FOR YOUR HELP!!! Our nuclear secrets have entered the public domain. China is directly benefiting from our satellite, launch, communications and nuclear weapons technology. The powers in the world are shifting away from the U.S. and peace. Our own technology can (and has been) used against us. Our military is undermanned and poorly equipped, morale is low and they are spread too thin. Our intelligence community is understaffed and unsupported. Executive orders, policies and procedures frequently ignore military and intelligence advise and Congressional consent. In short, the world's only super-power has lost its grip. ...

I saw on TV a quick quote by Dennis Hastert. I also heard it on the radio. Once each. He said that there was still time to submit another gun-control bill before the House recessed. In view of the way he said it, it sounded like he was very much in favor of a gun-control bill. I can't find anything on AP/Reuters wire to post here. Can anyone find it and post it?

Clinton To Live in Ark., NY COLOGNE, Germany (AP) - President Clinton, turning his attention to matters at home, said Sunday that he plans to divide his post-presidential time between Arkansas and New York and will work hard on issues he cares about - since he's not good enough at golf to become a professional. As for Hillary Rodham Clinton, if she becomes ``Senator Clinton,'' she would ``obviously have to spend a lot more time,'' in New York, he said. He brushed off speculation Mrs. Clinton is considering moving out of the White House and getting a place to live ...

The E-Man Cometh: Will The Postman Strike Back? Copyright CMP Media, June 1999 By BILL FREZZA Adams Capital Management As the winds of deregulation sweep across the globe, revitalizing vast industries, one institution stands immune: the U.S. Postal Service. This is no surprise. With almost 900,000 largely union employees, situated in every congressional district, the Post Office is a potent political force, dedicated first and foremost to its own perpetuation. Yet, the gales of the Internet blow strong, oblivious to boundaries established by mere politicians. It doesn't take a genius to look a few years ahead and envision a shrinking ...

Bush presidential campaign was recorded at 9:49 a.m. June 12, when New York Times photographer Ann Molin was knocked off a small podium at the Cedar Rapids airport and fell flat on her face. NEW YORK, June 20 (UPI) Among the multiple horrifying massacres now being uncovered in Kosovo by NATO, Newsweek says it has learned of one in which Serbs settled old scores with their ethnic Albanian neighbors because of the clout their businesses held in the community. In Suva Reka, 21 members of the Berisha family, extending across four generations were reportedly murdered by the Serbs; another 25 cousins who lived in the area also were missing and feared dead. Several eyewitnesses among their neighbors survived to tell about the family's massacre and of other ethnic Albanians in their town. Their stories ...

Considering that the Teamsters will make their displeasure, with anyone that does not support Clinton, known with physical violence, it has become necessary to warn the Republican Party that their delegates face a risk in attending the GOP Cpnvention in Philadelphia. So far, the two leading promotional ideas are: "My Philadelphia Teamster Beat Up Your GOP Delegate" bumper stickers "My Parents Went To Philadelphia and All I Got Was Beat Up By A Teamster" T shirts (for the children) This thread is as serious as a heart attack. Carl Limbacher and NewsMax Carl Limbacher and NewsMax.com Staff For the story behind the story... Sunday June 20, 10:05 AM Hillary Gets Poll Boost as Child Advocate "First Lady Leads Rudy," blared the Sunday New York Daily News headline, sitting atop the first report in recent memory showing Hillary Clinton pulling ahead of the New York Mayor in a poll for the Empire State's U.S. Senate race. The new poll is something of a shocker, since Rudy Giuliani has consistently led Mrs. Clinton in head-to-head match-ups for months. And Hillary's lead is fairly impressive; with 47% preferring her, ...

Don't let those pompoms fool you. Those media cheerleaders for Hillary Clinton's impending Senate run in New York are also carrying brass knuckles. It all began with a Neil Lewis dispatch on the front page of the June 13 New York Times, where independent counsel Kenneth Starr's aides were quoted as saying a final report could be "blistering." Liberal reporters and pundits started landing blows on Starr, saying he should not be allowed to create political damage. How inappropriate for a supposedly non-partisan officer of the court! For a reality check, please remember the utter lack of liberal outrage ...

As a FReeper of about one year's length, I have participated in several prayer circles for various other FReepers. Now, it is time for me to ask for one. My little niece, Lilly King, has been stricken with neuro-blastoma - a fearfully forbidding form of childhood cancer. Little Lilly, barely 3, must undergo chemotherapy, surgery and perhaps a "stem-cell" replacement. Only God and her doctors can help her now. May Jesus send her His healing light and lift the burden of pain and guilt from my beloved brother and his wife. Please add my dear niece and her family to ...
