I'm not sure of the exact time and city but there was a situation in, I beleive Cincinati, when the city counsel passed a law requiring registration of all privately owned hanguns in the city. They told everyone that there was no need for anyone to fear this new requirement. There were no plans for future confiscation. So they said.
