First Quarter '03 FReepathon Now Underway .. Thread 4

.... ...

The Free Republic first quarter '03 FReepathon is now underway!

Our goal for this fundraiser is the same as last quarter: $65,000. We have about $4,000 per month coming in from monthly donors so we will need to raise approx $53,000 to hit the target.

The funds raised through these fundraisers are used to pay our operating costs. Free Republic operates on an approximate $260,000 annual budget (breakdown here) and all funds are provided by donations from FReepers and Lurkers.

Thank you all very much for your continued support.

P.S. We are planning to make FreeRepublic.com email addresses available as a thank you to all who donate at least once per year. This new feature should be ready to go within a few days. We will post a notice and a link for donors to setup their FR email address as soon as it's ready.

Donate to FR and help us keep the lights on for the best political forum on the NET!

Thanks, chnsmok. I just saw Mo1's post (when I checked "My Comments") asking me to look at catsfur's question. I wouldn't have had the slightest idea re: fleas. So--good job researching that!

Because it can sometimes take me about 3-5 minutes each time I hit my 'refresh' button...I'm missing posts. And then sometimes...it seems to work faster. Will be so glad to get my 'real' computer back.

Thanks for your response to my flea question.

I'll just have to hope for the best 'cause I'm certainly not up for finding a frozen kitty on my back deck in the am.

Funny thing though, there have been winters here @-22F and the critters all seem to survive.

I have to get off here for a while, I've been making up for a lot of lost time here @ FR and need to take a break. Be back later for a few BsTTT.

Hi ascian,

I'll try your math challenge in post #376 with one die.

Again, I would choose to go second.

If my opponent had 0, 1, or 2: I'd throw the 3 die.

If my opponent had 3: I'd throw the 4 die.

If my opponent had 4: I'd throw the 5 die.

If my opponent had 5: I'd throw the 6 die.

If my opponent had 6: I'd throw the 6 die.

The odds for getting the winning number are higher on the lower numbered dies. The best you could do with the 6 die is a tie, and then you would have to repeat the contest.
