First Quarter '03 FReepathon Now Underway - Thread 2

The Free Republic first quarter '03 FReepathon is now underway!

Our goal for this fundraiser is the same as last quarter: $65,000. We have about $4,000 per month coming in from monthly donors so we will need to raise approx $53,000 to hit the target.

The funds raised through these fundraisers are used to pay our operating costs. Free Republic operates on an approximate $260,000 annual budget (breakdown here) and all funds are provided by donations from FReepers and Lurkers.

P.S. We are planning to make FreeRepublic.com email addresses available as a thank you to all who donate at least once per year. This new feature should be ready to go within a few days. We will post a notice and a link for donors to setup their FR email address as soon as it's ready.

I threw out a little side challenge question on the Tom Freepie contest now running on the "Freeps Ahoy" thread. I offered to contribute $25 to the Freepathon in honor of the first replier who posted the correct answer.

It was won by our own good freeper, Hellraiser II. The donation was just sent in.

i know the kids are still eating by the amount of empty yogurt containers and little debbie's wrappers on the floor.

I've used the crock pot a whole lot the past few days!!!!

3-4 peeled and diced potatoes.....1 diced onion (or 1/4 cup dried chives)...some milk....a bit of butter--cook until potatoes done (about 10 minutes)....thicken with cornstarch, Clam chowder in about 15 minutes. Serve with bread and butter......or a loaf of crusty french if you've had time to go to the store.
