Just in. I am looking at a picture of the WTC with smoke pouring out of the western tower. Looks like a huge amount of damage. Debris raining down on people in the street.
never ever ever forget.
Thank you.
I will never forget. We must support our troops and follow through no matter how long it takes. We must never forget what they will do do us & the way they will dance on our graves if given the opportunity.
That was the day we saw evil.
I was lurking this thread that morning BTW.
Me too. My son-in-law was at the Pentagon that morning. He subsequently spent nearly a year in Iraq.
Too many people have been lulled into a false sense of security because our President and our intelligence community have kept us safe here on our shores for five years. Yet, those monsters are still out there, as evidenced by today's headlines, and they are still determined to slaughter us all.
They are still out there, they still want to kill us all, and they are planning at this very moment.
Anyone who votes for a Democrat after today's news of the new airline plot has to be crazy!
I wasn't a FReeper yet - hadn't even heard of the place. A normally jittery co-worker ran in and told us about the first plane. I down[layed it and suspected it was a light plane until I saw the image on TV. Bright, clear morning, not like the time the bomber hit the Empire State Building. That was my automatic thought. Accident. But then I realized that no plane would be that far off course under those conditions. Second plane hits. Rage. Fury. Rumors of multiple hits in DC, missing planes. This is a bad movie and I want my money back.
Speculation on who did it. Muslims, without a doubt. A Syrian immigrant co-worker, non-practicing Druze, blurts out, "drop the bomb on them, kill them all". He's not even a citizen, but he loves this country.
Later that evening, watching Fox News, the pall of smoke over the city and reports that a carrier has been dispatched to NY, the lyrics of "Miami, 2017" come to mind.
"I've seen the rats lie down on Broadway
I watched the mighty skyline fall
the boats were waiting at the Battery
the union went on strike
they never sailed at all
They sent a carrier out from Norfolk
and picked the Yankees up for free..."
I have to be perverse to think of that at a time like this, but there it is. My last words to my wife that night before slipping into a troubled sleep: "The world has changed forever"
Thanks for letting me vent.
The democrats are already crying defeat after yesterday's VICTORY over terrorism.
We can NEVER FORGET.
I was there.
I lived about a mile from the WTC, and I will never, never, never, never forget that day or the days that followed.
I was test driving a car. I turned on the radio to a rock station I normally listen to to see how the radio sounded and heard news instead. I recalled thinking how much of a mess it must have been. At the time only the first plane had hit. As soon as we got back to the dealership, the second plane hit. We sat there in a cubicle with a care salesman for the next two hours listening to it all. It was very strange the way it happened.
Thank you for posting that link, Delta 21. I did not know about it.
I remember... I will never forget...As vivid as the birth of my first born and I will fight them with all that I have to defend all that I love.
"It's time we recognized the nature of the conflict. It's total war and we are all involved. Nobody on our side is exempted because of age, gender, or handicap. The Islamofacists have stolen childhood from the world." [FReeper Retief]
Did you buy the car? I bought one in 9/01. I should have waited since the bottom fell out of the market thereafter.
tears
I dont have much sympathy for the Palestinians right now.
Yes, it was a good car until I traded it a couple of years ago.
Never forget
