“Ladies” odds are not many reading the advice would answer to that anyway.
There are some lines re telling her to change her appearance.
What you did sounded like the best for so many reasons.
But a woman should keep beautiful for her man. Within reason. If he married her with small boobs, he can’t force her to go get balloons inserted. Or if her boobs deflated after having kids, he really can’t do more than discuss getting implants. Women can’t force a man to go under the knife for penile enlargement inserts either. Listen to her reasons - huge boobs aren’t always fun to wear. And that poor man with a 16” inch p can’t wear shorts any more!

I had a g/f with that evil witch louise hays’ affirmations taped to her bathroom mirror. They are the sign you are weak and feeble person if you need to remind yourself you are a good person and gosh darn it people like you.
The “forgive your parents” one especially bugged me. I met hr folks and they were delightful and had a loving and warm relationship. More of the credo “blame others.”

I hate it when husbands are expected to treat the wife like a boss. And I’m a woman. I get disgusted when my friends get upset at their wonderful husbands from taking a guys weekend or even a day of golf. Women are horrible sometimes. I apologize for my sisters.

Marriage changes you. Where your world was I, now it is we.
When you get married you not only get a warm body to share a bed with but an entire person. If the marriage is to be long lasting you need to realize that your world is going to revolve around that person. No, you will not spend the entire day gazing into each others eyes but you should approach all decisions with one question, "how will this influence my marriage?"
Does it mean some sacrifice? Of course.
Is it work? Naturally.
Are there rewards? Beyond your wildest dreams.

I don’t disagree with you. But that’s not really the point. To stick with your example, if one is an avid golfer, and the other insists that the clubs be put away forever ... one has a problem. To further stick with the example, a reasonable arrangement might be for the golfer to dial it back while the kids are really small, then as they get bigger teach them to golf. Everybody wins.
I like cats, too, but just one at a time. Someone to keep the dog company/entertained while I’m away on a project.
