Dr. Carson needs to make up his mind.
To: BlackFemaleArmyCaptain
Fine, make him surgeon general.

"...needs to make up his mind." Agreed - But, I think he'd be a fine choice for Sec. of Education

That’s what I have been thinking for months.

Carson is losing his sanity.
He had a position, according to his early claims.
He then turned down a position because he said he could do more on the outside.
Now, he wants to be back in line for some position.

No
He has no experience running a large bureacracy much less the civil service and they would trample him
He is a nice laid back guy - but not running a cabinet office

I don’t know if he’s losing his sanity or not, but I’d be leery of offering him any position if he declined the first time.

Fine, make him surgeon general. His experience at Hopkins would be wasted as Surgeon General,a largely ceremonial position. He belongs at HHS.
To: headstamp 2
VA Secretary with the focus on reformimg the VA healthcare system. You people are ridiculous with the constant Surgeon General comments. Surgeon General is a joke appointment and job, and would be an insult to Carson if offered.

Don’t put him in charge of anything. He should just offer advice

I think Trump has made up his mind.
I believe Carson chose to still run what is, IIRC, a very large business.
To: BlackFemaleArmyCaptain
I appreciate Dr. Carson’s candor, and his thoughtfulness on issues. He’s totally correct.
IF he can do a better job in support of the Trump administration on the outside then he should do it. He’s retired. He can do as he wants.
If he doesn’t want to be committed to a desk, and specific tasks then he shouldn’t be pressured to do so.

Actually, I think he’d be better suited for U.S. Secretary of Education — assuming the department remains in existence. His life story is a more powerful message about education than it is about medicine, oddly enough.
