I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to the Scalia family after the passing of Justice Scalia. Justice Scalia was a remarkable person and a brilliant Supreme Court Justice, one of the best of all time. His career was defined by his reverence for the Constitution and his legacy of protecting Americans' most cherished freedoms. He was a Justice who did not believe in legislating from the bench and he is a person whom I held in the highest regard and will always greatly respect his intelligence and conviction to uphold the Constitution of our country. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time.
“Will be a good test for all the RINOS in congress, many who may be up for re-election. We will be watching. Should be a huge topic at the debate tonight and Cruz will win that debate.”
We always watch and they always fold. RINOS always cave.
This is horrific - absolutely horrific.
This was a GREAT man!!! His parents came from Italy for a better life and their son rose to the SCOTUS!!!!

Classy and respectful. Nice job Trump.
Antonin Gregory Scalia
(March 11, 1936 -February 12 or 13, 2016)
was an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, who served for 29 years, from 1986 until his death. As the longest-serving justice on the Court, Scalia became the Senior Associate Justice. Appointed to the Court by President Ronald Reagan in 1986, Scalia was described as the intellectual anchor for the originalist and textualist position in the Court's conservative wing.
Scalia was born in Trenton, New Jersey, and attended public grade school and Catholic high school in New York City, where his family had moved. He attended Georgetown University as an undergraduate and obtained his LL.B degree from Harvard Law School. After spending six years in a Cleveland law firm, he became a law school professor at the University of Virginia. In the early 1970s, he served in the Nixon and Ford Administrations, first at minor administrative agencies, and then as an assistant attorney general. He spent most of the Carter years teaching at the University of Chicago, where he became one of the first faculty advisers of the fledgling Federalist Society. In 1982, he was appointed as a judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit by President Ronald Reagan. In 1986, Scalia was appointed by Reagan to the Supreme Court to fill the Associate Justice seat vacated when Justice William Rehnquist was elevated to Chief Justice. Whereas Rehnquist's confirmation was contentious, Scalia was asked few difficult questions by the Senate Judiciary Committee, and faced no opposition. Scalia was unanimously confirmed by the Senate, becoming the first Italian-American justice.Source: Wikipedia
quadro phonically stereo-ated
Fold it five ways...
I agree.
Let us hope they remain solid on this.
Nice put together statement from the Trump public relations team. Very canned response, but appropriate.
“This is a freaking nightmare - in stereo.”
You nailed it. I couldn’t find the words!
certainly no Republican in the USA would suggest that Obama nominate his choice!!
The FIRST Italian American Justice :( :(
a personal hero.
A GREAT man!!
America took it on the chin tonight :(
Well Obama we won the Senate and you lost. Elections does have consequences. Every Republican candidate should support no confirmation until next year.
“Nice statement. Classy, succinct. Kudos Trump.”
Well said.
When Trump was asked his favorite Justice. He named Scalia and Thomas. In spite of the fact that Alito is a friend of the family.
Trump for President.
WASHINGTON â Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump weighed in on Sunday against Supreme Court Justice Anthony Scaliaâs comments on affirmative action in university admissions.
The conservative justice suggested during a hearing last week that some blacks and Hispanics are not strong enough candidates to be admitted purely on academic criteria and might be better off attending âslower-trackâ schools where they can prosper.
âI thought his remarks were very, very tough. I think they were very, very tough to the African American community actually. I donât like what he said, no,â Trump said on CNNâs âState of the Unionâ program.
Even in a time of sorrow for our nation and the Scalia family, you try to debase it with a snide comment. At least on the loss we could unite in graciousness.
Of all the Justice the loss of Scalia is the worst that could happen. There are others we could do without.
