POLL: MIKE HUCKABEE TAKES SECOND TO DONALD TRUMP
Breitbart ^ | August 26,2015 | ALEX SWOYER

Posted on 08/26/2015 10:28:41 AM PDT by Hojczyk

GOP presidential candidate Gov. Mike Huckabee is doing quite well according to two national polls conducted after the first GOP presidential primary debate.

One poll has Huckabee in second place behind GOP frontrunner Donald Trump and another poll has Huckabee listed with the highest favorability rating among 15 GOP presidential candidates; however, former neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson takes the highest net favorability rating when comparing the results in totality.

A Reuters-Ipsos poll conducted August 21-25 has Huckabee in second behind Trump – the only two candidates with double digits in that poll:

Donald Trump – 30.1 percent

Mike Huckabee – 10.4 percent

Jeb Bush – 8.3 percent

Ben Carson – 8 percent

Scott Walker – 6.7 percent

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)80% – 5.1 percent

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)96% – 4.4 percent

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)93% – 3.9 percent

Carly Fiorina – 3.8 percent

John Kasich – 2.7 percent

Chris Christie – 2.5 percent

Rick Perry – 2.3 percent

Bobby Jindal – 1.1 percent

Rick Santorum – 1 percent

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)47% – 0.8 percent

Yeah, the Huckster’s doing great—he’s up to having one third of the support that Donald Trump has.

Q: Why can’t Cruz break 5% on a consistent basis?

A: There are very few of us actual conservatives left in America. This place is ****ed.

re: Did Huckabee pay for that poll?

That is what I am thinking. There has got to be some money connection there. Or possibly Trumps enemies trying to stir up some Evangelical Huckabee Koolaide drinkers.

BTW, no slight intended to evangelicals. I am one.

It is an online poll. Useless.

He is not. He is not for illegal immigration. You should research his actual positions. People are still griping about in state tuition back when he was governor. They should stop having sissified emotional responses and check out what his positions actually are.

Huckabee is very engaging and articulate. He could win if he could get past the emoto-crowd that puts emotion over facts.

Because these early polls are full of crap and somewhere your brain recognizes that.

There are people here with an agenda, and it has nothing to do with voting conservative. Looks like you are doing analysis and thinking for yourself.

Cruz is way too low to find this poll accurate. I just do not buy that he is that low.

Huckster has supported “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” aka amnesty.

Anyone unwilling to uphold the rule of law, and that includes deporting illegal aliens, is unfit for office.

He could win if he could get past the emoto-crowd that puts emotion over facts.

He does have his moments, but if he ever did win the nomination, Big Media would endlessly bleat 24/7 about his decision to release a criminal that later killed cops. Endlessly. I'm not kidding.

Reuters is a long-time Obama-ass-kisser, so I suspect they (and the rest of their Big Media pals) have now decided that Heb can't win it, so Huck is their new flawed candidate that they'll desperately push to try to stop Trump/Cruz. This poll is as fake as a $3 bill.

Because polls are BS. They know they cannot lie about Trump’s numbers but they cab try and suppress the real conservative in the race on the hopes Trump burn out and drops. Then Jebbie, Huckster, or other GOPe can step in, just not the most conservative person in the race.

How the The Huckster jump around like that?

Margin of Error creates havoc in surveys with many candidates. If the MoE is, say ±4.5%, a candidate like Huckabee who has, say 8% support in reality can register between 3.5% to 12.5% without moving out of that range.

A number of these polls over time can show trends, so they are still useful. Obviously Trump is on top. Carson is also hitting above his weight. Walker has lost ground. We just don't know how much.

Ok, here are the details:

He is for deporting illegals within 120 days. People who were brought here as children he thinks should be given a path to citizenship, I guess feeling that is was not their fault.

I think the point about the kids is that they have no memory of living in Mexico nor no ties there. We are not really sending them home. Now I would draw the line on that. I would say that minors must return with their parents. Obviously we cannot rescind citizenship on those born here, but we can change the practice where we do not give citizenship to anchor babies in the future. Children who were brought here as minors but are now adults are kind of a special category. They have no home to go back to in that they are adults. So I can see that as a different category.

Very few people know much about Ted Cruz. He was at about 5% 15 months before his election to the U.S. Senate in Texas.

Once people are exposed to him, they get converted. Don’t worry.

If Trump gets the nomination, you can be sure that Cruz’ grass roots network wil work hard to get Trump elected.

If Trump is the next President, Cruz could very well be the next Senate majority leader.

Some of the evangelical crowd that backed Jeb is now souring on him, with Huck being the default beneficiary of that trend until those voters study the situation further.

Bush ain't gettin 'er done.

Up next? The Huckster - that'll bleed off the neo conservative vote. Or so the media think.

I thought they'd go to Rubio next, though. Maybe they chose Huck 'cause of his demonstrated record of diluting the conservative primary vote allowing the establishment candidate to slip through with a plurality.

Something’s wrong with that poll. No way is Gomer that high. He’s essentially had zero exposure since the debates. Not to mention this poll is at odds with practically every other poll.

You do not know what you are talking about as far as “evangelical voters” go. You really don’t.
