A new national poll out today by OANN and Gravis Marketing has Trump up to 40%, his YUGEST lead ever over his Republican contenders. Heres how each candidate rated:

While Carsons lead more than doubled, hes still a distant second place with the rest of the GOP field behind him. Not that Jeb lost a bit as both Cruz and Fiorina gained.
Heres the info on the poll:
Gravis Marketing, a nonpartisan research firm, conducted a random survey of 3,567 registered voters across the U.S. regarding the presidential election. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 2%. The total may not equal exactly 100% due to rounding. The polls were conducted on August 21-22 using interactive voice response, IVR, technology and weighted separately for each population in the question presented.
His money daddies are drying up on him, y'know...
Agreed. This field is too big and its confusing the voters. Less than 2% now is never going to amount to anything.
Thirty years ago I read Trump’s bood, “The Art of the Deal.” First of all it helped me end up more financially sound than if I had not read it. Secondly, he did several interesting things other than build glitzy skyscrapers and casinos in Atlantic City. He noticed that the city was having a terrible time finishing up a skating rink in Central Park. Since it was near where he lived and built, he wanted it finished, so he made an offer to the city. The agreed to his terms and he finished it up quickly both faster than the agreement and below budget. He knew nothing about skating rinks and hired the best experts on SR construction. Later I read that he hired one of his ex wives to manage a major casino in Atlantic City because he trusted her judgement to furnish and manage it. So it seems he knows enough to turn a new job over to competent people, and he does not have a problem with competent women.
Trump says the wall will be 60 feet tall.
Yowza.
He says it has to be a good way, because long after he’s gone it will be known as the Trump wall.
LOL
Gotta enjoy this guy from time to time...

Lindsay would be lucky to get it up into the single digits now.
“Very few people understand how bad things are...”
Most people around me seem to know that things are very, very bad but they may not have any realistic idea of how things got this way.
“It’s possible we might be dealing with what it appears to be: a somewhat brilliant eccentric retired businessman has decided to throw his hat in the ring to help save the country.”
I believe this is the case.
I read the book recently myself. What it left me with was the sense that he’s dumb...like a fox. And an out of the box thinker. Those who underestimate him do so at their own peril.
bttt
Talk radio is very much aimed at the population of people who tend to be here at FR. Therefore, it represents a minority, whether we like it or not. And there are other candidates who also appeal to this population.
I listened to 20 minutes of Carson, and my impression was that he is a sensible fellow with a sense of humor. I also did not sense any meanness in him.
Why don’t we set the border up with buried trip wires that set off signal rockets so that border patrol, militias, land owners, etc. would be immediately made aware and could take the proper steps, including calling the authorities or our National Guard.
Even if he is elected, he will still have the same problem other presidents have. Most government employees can’t be fired because of Civil Service laws, and the government cannot pay top people the kinds of salaries that private industry can. Thus, hard to get the best people for specific jobs like Trump and the skating rink, unless they plan to use the government job as a springboard to a high paid private job, and thus tend to work for the guys who will probably hire them rather than “we the People.”
I’m hearing rumors that the border patrol isn’t exactly enforcing the border these days. Has anyone else heard that. Some folks are saying they’ve been asked to stand down.
Is that just a rumor?
Trip wires? Why not just make a minefield on the Mexican Border. With warning signs of course, and also with machine guns set off by your tripwires!
A few “accidents “ should teach the message to even the hardest heads that the only way to enter the U S is LEGALLY. If a few people are killed, so what? Our citizens are killed and mutilated regularly. Enough of the scumbags, gangs, rapists and murderers, as well as freeloaders who have no respect for the US or its citizens.
I don’t mind at all, Mr Apple. However, we differ on the Fake Signs. Going the fake route is not going to cut it because a “secret” is never a secret for long. The invaders will find out and then nothing has been accomplished.
We send our military out to defend our country knowing that some lives will be lost. Why is it so difficult to exact a price of a few lives from those who are destroying our country? We have to let them know WE MEAN BUSINESS!
Looks as if you got your wish. It appears Trump and Cruz are teaming up to take on Washington very soon over this Iran Deal.
Its possible we might be dealing with what it appears to be: a somewhat brilliant eccentric retired businessman has decided to throw his hat in the ring to help save the country.

I question the “RETIRED” bit. Some people never want to retire. If they did it would kill them. My father always said he would rather wear out than rust out!” He was active right up to the end. I think some of that same force drives Trump.

You did not sense any “meanness” in Carson and that is exactly the problem. He is not mean enough or tough enough to carve a swathe out of our enemies which is what we need now in this country. We need a warrior, not a soft spoken guy. He is too much like the peanut farmer Carter for me...too much of a “nice guy.” Carter was too nice to get back our hostages, but the enemy...same one we have now...knew Reagan meant business. Reagan had strength and they knew it, just like they knew Carter was a wussie..
I also did not like Carson’s “convenient switch” on gun control. He’s too much of a “doctor” with a fine bedside manner for this country at this time. We need someone tough enough to get us back on top. I think it is Trump/Cruz if we’re going to have an American future.
