Make sure to check out our ongoing thread for updates about the Regional Convention being held in Orlando on April 25. The convention will be at the spectacular Gaylord Palms hotel and we've gotten a group rate of just $99/night on guest rooms. Updated information will be posted Monday on how to make your reservations.

Love it! LOL! AND so true!
I reserved for Friday, the 24th and for Saturday, the 25. This hotel is so intriguing, so enticing that I want to be there two days.
The gal I spoke to, Julie, told me the place is fabulous and the rooms are great. The rooms have hair dryers, a safe, a mini fridge, a coffee maker and a lap top computer you can use....and it's free.
She told me the five restaurants range from gourmet to moderate in price/casual in dress. Hamburgers, wings, all the sides, etc. can be enjoyed al fresco on tables near the pool. A wonderful buffet is somewhere.....I'll find it and check it out because I'm arriving a day early to scope everything including the visual wonders we're going to enjoy.
The reservation-making process went as smooth as chocolate cream pie. Our group room rate is as right as President Reagan.
Freepers, for a couple years you've been wanting a meeting or a convention. You've moaned, whined, complained and begged on the state forum. Now it's in the works. Who knows when there'll be another. Don't miss out on this gathering of truly conservative eagles to get to know and to interact with.
Meet the witty, talented, brainy and good lookin' freepers whose posts you've enjoyed forever.
Pick up your phone right now, dial 1-407-586-000 for this fabulous freep. Tell her you're with the Free Republic convention.
You'll be SO happy you called, I guaran-damm-tee ya.
See ya in Orlandy, Mandy! We'll greet you in the lobby, Bobby! Please make that phone call now!

Take a look at the pictures of the hotel rooms I found! Wow! I'm kind of jealous that I won't be staying overnight myself.
Glad you had smooth sailing getting through reservations. Hopefully everyone else is getting theirs done just as easy.
The Key West Room
The Everglades Room
The St. Augustine Room
Were you able to tell them which room theme you wanted when you made reservations??
There are 1,408 rooms in the hotel, by the way.
With functioning free laptops in each of our rooms, some enterprising freepers can report in LIVE to our thread on FR with hour-to-hour commentary!
Except we'll probably be too busy for that....and photos and reports can come when we return home.

Hi! My reservation experience was great too! I was offered a room close to the FR Convention conference room for $139 per night, but chose the $99 room just a little bit further away from the conference room. Believe hubby and I will enjoy the little walk to the conference room! :)
I'm 99% sure I'll be there, however, I live close enough I will not need a room.
I checking in to say I won’t be able to make it. I know, it’s only about 3.5 hours from here, but I won’t be able to make it! :(
I will be in Orlando late evening on the 25th, flying home from Kansas for a few days before heading back to Iraq... I would like to meet as many FReepers as possible...
Hey,,,WTF is this??!!??!
You just got home!!!!!
LOL.. I got home from my last tour in Jan 2008.. I got mobilized again in Jan, but I have been at Fort Riley for pre-deployment training... I will be flying home on the 25th for a few days and return back to Fort Riley..
Hey,Dave,,,
