Well, we had a change of heart. Thinking that there might be a couple of Scotch’s involved after the meeting, I felt it best we don’t attempt to make the drive back to Lakeland. So, we’ll be staying at the Gaylord Saturday night. It’s hell to become a responsible adult!

PS: Is there an itinerary of meeting times, etc. out yet? I can’t recall seeing anything.

Back in February, the founding father, owner and guiding light of Free Republic.com, Jim Robinson, sent out a clarion call for freeper chapters across the fruited plain to hold regional conventions.
Simply put, he asked us for this so that we can fine-tune our organized efforts and so that we can gird our loins in concert for the ongoing battle (and even worse battles to come)
Always a leader among state chapters, Florida freepers began the task of organizing such an event. Mass freepmails of invitation were sent out to freepers in our neighboring states of Alabama, Georgia and the Carolinas because this is a regional convention.
Roos_Girl took on the job of Chair, and a committee was quickly formed. A thread was begun, a convention site chosen, an agenda was written (which will be posted tomorrow, Sunday) and all the necessities for a successful convention are being handled proficiently as only conservatives can do!
But more than that, folks, we need your SUPPORT and ATTENDANCE so we can report MISSION ACCOMPLISHED to Jim after the convention!
You can see by this thread that our gathering of Eagles will be a warm, friendly, fun affair. You'll see by the agenda that we mean business, also.
This is not the committee's convention, it's everybody's. Everyone will have an opportunity to listen, discuss, debate, question and rant during our meetings. What more could any red-blooded right-wing extremist want?
Please call in your reservation today. Your phone is but several steps away. You have my word that you'll not only have a blast at this convention, but you'll come away re-invigorated, re-motivated and much more informed.

Also, we'll be posting a map of the hotel with smoking (gasp!) areas illustrated. There are lots of them tucked away in some pretty convenient and exotic al freco locactions.
Guests will each receive a hotel map at the front desk when they check in.
An advance unit of freeper commandos will reconoiter all hotel eating places, checking for ability to handle our crowd at lunch and dinner, for interesting surroundings and for reasonable prices. Their intelligence report will be announced at the meetings. The Sports Bar will be our Saturday luncheon date on Saturday, the day of the convention meetings.
If there are more questions, post them. The Gaylord Palms has a website, so many of your questions can be answered there. More details to follow in the next couple days.
Remember, as always, the dress code is freeper nice casual. It should be sunny and very warm at the Palms as we sip an iced tea or an adult beverage by the pool adorned with a massive tentacled Octofreeper for additional company.

Hi, I see you got the answer on the time. Our meeting starts at 9:30 but we hope everyone will be able to be in the “Sarasota Meeting Room” between 8:30-9:30 for out meet and greet coffee/rolls hour!

Let’s seeeee.... the last time I had breakfast with Gonzo and Bob was after our big weekend FReep against Gore/Loserman in Tallahassee. Our breakfast consisted of Bloody Marys with celery, coffee, and water. We are the original “3-fisted” drinkers. LOL

Oh, I am not afraid of little old alligators! It is just CrocerGators that scare me! You know, those creatures that are half crocodile and half alligator. They are mean lookin creatures with a crocodile head on one end and an alligator head on the other! Sure glad there aren't any CrocerGators at the Gaylord!! :)
Oh, my......I think I'd prefer Dr. Doolittle's "PushmePullyu" with the head of a cuddly llama on each end.
