Jay McKinnon, a self-described Department of Homeland Security-trained document specialist, has implicated himself in the production of fraudulent Hawaii birth certificate images similar to the one endorsed as genuine by the Barack Obama campaign, and appearing on the same blog entry where the supposedly authentic document appears.
The evidence of forgery and manipulation of images of official documents, triggered by Israel Insider's revelation of the collection of Hawaii birth certificate images on the Photobucket site and the detective work of independent investigative journalists and imaging professionals in the three weeks since the publication of the images, implicate the Daily Kos, an extreme left blog site, and the Obama campaign, in misleading the public with official-looking but manipulated document images of doubtful provenance.
The perceived unreliability of the image has provoked petitions and widespread demands for Obama to submit for objective inspection the paper versions of the "birth certificate" he claimed in his book Dreams from My Father was in his possession, as well as the paper version of the Certificate of Live Birth for which the image on the Daily Kos and the Obama "Fight the Smears" website was supposedly generated.
Without a valid birth certificate, Obama cannot prove he fulfills the "natural born citizen" requirement of the Constitution, throwing into doubt his eligibility to run for President.
McKinnon, who says he is 25-30 years old, operates a website called OpenDNA.com and uses the OpenDNA screen name on various web sites and blogs, including his comments and diary on The Daily Kos. In recent years he has divided his time between Long Beach, California and Vancouver, British Columbia. He is a Democratic political activist, frequent contributor to the left wing Daily Kos blog, and a fervent Barack Obama supporter.

All I have is his birth certificate that clearly shows he was born in Panama (not the Canal Zone), and a "sense of the senate" that says that's as good as being born on US soil.
I would be very pleased to see the Supreme Court decision on exactly what 'natural born' means.
We'll need this in the coming years when the "he's not my president" and "he was SEElected not elected" crowd uses his place of birth as a reason to justify their petty treasons.
Pitch in now and help us pre-empt this nonsense, please???
Both his parents were American citizens. His father was stationed out-of-country. Citizenship follows parental citizenship; not the country in which one is born.
Kindly explain to me how being being born to two American citizens can be remotely claimed as not qualifying for the office of President. The ball’s in your court; not mine. Yours is the specious argument.

bvw:Why do you say the certificate number would remain the same? Is that based on common sense, or so knowledge you have of the system?
The number is sort of too short to include a serialization of each certificate officially issued, so I’d think you’d be right, but that’s just my guess.
Do you have access to any actual certificates so that you could check whether “151″ is the Julian date?

They all have 151 followed by the birth year. My daughter’s original copy from 1990 has the same serial number as the copies we made about a year ago. So it seems highly likely that the number remains the same.
In twenty-five million words or less, it all boils down to what the Constitution means by 'natural born'.
The two schools of thought are:
Jus soli, natural born means born on US soil.
This leads to the logical conclusion that an anchor baby, born here and raised back in the homeland, with nothing but homelandian influence molding their world view is constitutionally qualified to be president, while McCain having been born in Panama, to an active duty US military family, with nothing but 100% patriotic American upbringing is not constitutionally qualified for that office.

Jus sanguinus, natural born means any child of an American citizen, regardless of location of birth.
This leads to a couple logical conclusions:
One, the USofA owns you and your children, this is the same doctrine that Britain used to press the sons of Americans into service in their navy, and for that reason I believe that the founding fathers found that abhorrent when they wrote the constitution.
And two, that a child of an American born in Thirdworldistan, raised purely as an American hating Thirdworldistani, ignorant of any English language skills, and contemptuous of American culture is fully constitutionally qualified to be the Commander in Chief over our armed forces, while a first generation american born of purely Cuban blood, would not qualify as his blood would be foreign, even though his parents made immense sacrifices to come here, raised him as nothing but a patriotic American, would not necessarily qualify.
This is further complicated by a couple centuries of congressional meddling, starting with a 1790 law declaring that children of diplomats and military stationed abroad count as natural born Americans, and the following mutually contradictory and conflicting laws and rules laid on top of the 1790 law.
The last legislative act in this ongoing soap opera was when Sen. Claire McCaskill was sufficiently worried about this very point that she introduced a bill to declare McCain qualified.
The bill never passed as a law, only as a "sense of the senate". The question is still open.
What is 'natural born'? Until the Supremes weigh in no one knows for sure.
And I assure you the left will use McCain's place of birth to undermine America every chance they get!

The math says that the birth sequence number is a little high, but within 7% of what one would expect if the same number of kids was born each day.
If it were much closer I’d suspect the number was cooked!
Also using the Vital Stats from your post of 17578 births recorded in 1961 my excel spreadsheet calculates that as Julian date 220.4. That's Tuesday, August 08, 1961. Close enough to August 4, to call the number a serial number, fairly certainly.

Panama is having its presidential election in May 2009.
If it is ruled by the Supremes that McCain is constitutionally unable to become president of the U.S. since he was not born on a military installation but in a Panamanian hospital in Colón, R of P., he can come to Panama and run for President of Panama.
There is no COnstitutional provision for such a suspension. Lincoln suspended the 14th Amendment for the duration but he did not suspend elections. I suppose a president could do that but the opposition would cancel out any benefits. He would only do it if he really were bent on doing the Caesar thing. That is not so likely in this society as in, say, Rome because the military is not personally loyal to him. In Rome the army was raised and personally loyal to its commander. Wars were actually run on a sort of free enterprise model during the Republic.
It is true that most Presidents have been lawyers, yet being a lawyer was much more of a open occupation for the first hundred plus years of US history. You or I would have easily been lawyers at some point or another. You had to be smart, well-spoken and read in the basic law.
We've gone into a certification expertism of a kind that has been and is highly debasing of the general legal wisdom.
