Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

"stomach turning though it may be. "

A lot of us believe that if you turn your stomach on Rudy, you will get it in the a$$.

Yep, “The Monkey Business,” and it “sunk” his candidacy. But the Democrats ran a guy who made Hartpence look like the pope four years later, and won.

I’m a salt of the earth kinda woman, but, give that kind of talk a rest on this site, please. Seeing it posted more than once is annoying.

“This is becoming the antithesis of a place of liberty and freedom, a place where we can fight government corruption. We’ve been completely neutralized by phony con-men like you”

Thank you for your service. But quit making statements that are untrue. The Giuliani GOPrs are the con men and women. If they wanted to stay here and spew liberal policy wonk crap, then they needed to do it without tearing down the conservatives that members of this site look up to and support in the primary. It’s a conservative site, how dense are the Partybots - that they cannot see this?

"I never said that anything was or wasn't off limits."

My apologies. A lot of the FR supporters of Mayor Giuliani get real worked up when some of his quotes or actions would get brought up, and turned real nasty. Usually that's when the personal attacks would begin. I definitely wasn't trying to instigate with my question.

No catharsis yet. The words "first" and "now" were lies too.

While I appreciated MiaT’s anti-Clinton devotion, I always cringed at her threads and posts. It’s what I thought an acid trip would look like and the product of a seriously disturbed individual.

They never addressed anything posted or linked. They just repeated the canard that we had better get used to choosing between Rudy and Hillary. No logic or reason worked. We got one sentence answers and condescension.

The Libs have been ecstatic over the immigration battle. Bush tried to defuse the political bomb but a segment of the party joined forces with people I don't even like to mention and defeated every attempt.

So the bomb went off, and we got fragged.

In the end, who won?

Yup......The liberals, and they will win this sort of issue each and every time because they can.

The immigration issue is now virtually lost, and I doubt we will have much input into what is finally done. They are waiting until the 2008 elections to do it, unless we cave. In any case, they will sow up the Hispanic vote for some decades to come, and they are going to become the majority ethnicity.

So that's primarily why we should have backed Bush's plan. But now it's too late.

I know a lot of people see this as a major issue politically, but frankly, it was too divisive and should have been handled with much care, and not as a club. Our future as a Republican Party with Hispanics as a majority, will be much different now. I guess we will see just how much.

I agree completely. Her hatred of Clinton blinded her from any logic. That’s why her willingness to support the candidate who was the biggest Clinton defender and most vocal Clinton apologist was bizarre made no sense at all (especially BEFORE the nomination).

You appear to have absolutely no idea what it means to make a hypothetical argument.

It is clear to me what Mia was saying. And it is consistent with everything I know about Mia, everything she has ever said to me, everything we have often debated about.

You never debated Mia when she could respond. Your attempt to pick apart her comments to fit your absurd little points and theories and to do so now, when she is no longer here to respond, looks, well, petty, ridiculous and yes, cowardly.

For your information, kevkrom confirmed what went down with those deleted posts.

Jesus never continued to associate with people who refused to repent and change their behavior.

Really? And yet he allowed Judas to remain with the apostles even though he knew that Judas would eventually betray him.

Not that Jesus wouldn't draw a line at some point, and it is up to our interpretation of scriptural guidance and judgment as to where we also should draw that line. He did throw the moneychangers out of the Temple, and Paul shook the dust from his shoes at times. But he also told the story of the Prodigal Son, where the father never gave up hope during the son's time of sin. Jesus also said to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and dined with the tax collector, and allowed the harlot to wash his feet, suggesting that he was not completely rebellious and withdrawn from flawed human institutions and slow to wall off or reject anyone still in their imperfections. "Go and sin no more" was the advice and goal, but he did have Peter as the rock, despite his thrice betrayal on just a single day. Ananias and Sapphira illustrated that we never know when patience will run out or an example will be made of our sins, so clearly continuing in sin is risking grave peril, including eternal damnation. But yet Paul continued to advise and work with rather than reject various churches involved in some pretty bad problems. In fact Paul used a pagan holy site to make a point in one of his sermons, the alter to an unknown god. So perhaps God can use the imperfect to advance his cause, and doing so doesn't have to mean condoning the imperfections/sinful side? Rahab was a harlot, why was her story of how she aided the Israelites included in the bible?

I agree with you. But we have had them stall off the open borders monster this far, because of our opposition to it.
Of all people the Democrats in conservative areas have decided they want to stay in Congress.

We still have to fight the immigration battle as part of a comprehensive effort. I never write anything off until we lose.

Then what's your beef? ...

I suppose I feel its because you've been chumped. You've been able to see the obvious devil, Rudybots, social moderates, et-al, but you've failed to see the phony Archie Bunkers. The uber-conservatives, direct for DU or move-on or just punk assed liberals wanting to hurt our cause. Because of these intolerant and phony ranters we are ridiculed, neutralized and almost impotent.

You think I'm being disruptive, I'll back off. Just be advised, FR is fast becoming counterproductive to the conservative cause.
