BOBIGNY, France (Reuters) -- French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy defended his tough crime policies on Monday after a fourth night of riots in a Paris suburb in which tear gas was fired into a mosque.
Sarkozy, addressing police officers, vowed to find how tear gas had been fired into the Muslim place of worship, an incident which had helped fuel the disturbances.
Youths hurled rocks and set fire to cars in the northeastern Clichy-sous-Bois suburb of the French capital, where many immigrants and poor families live in high-rise housing estates notorious for youth violence.

French television said six police officers were hurt and 11 people arrested in violence partly fueled by the incident at the mosque. Sarkozy promised an inquiry.
"I am, of course, available to the imam of the Clichy mosque to let him have all the details in order to understand how and why a tear gas bomb was sent into this mosque," he told about 170 police officers at the prefecture.

These highrise housing "estates" refered to in the article are the slums built by the French to hid the Muslims out of sight of main stream Paris.
The war in/for france is starting.
Note to France: Don't expect any American troops.
Surely the French can defend their own country, right? (Snicker...snort...cough...)
Soon the BBC will pick up the story. They'll probably blame the riots on Israel.
Followed by the NYT who will blame it on Bush.
Followed by Al Jazerra, taking credit for Bin Laudin.
Remnants of the Ayatollah Khomeini. Hiding this purveyor of hatred if finally coming back to bite the French in the keister.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of weeners.
This is really going to tarnish the image that most people have of muslims...
Ha ha just kidding.
Unfortunately, I think we'll *have* to bail their bacon out again. Can't let Europe fall.
Actually, all kidding aside, the French are not weak on anti-terrorism at all. They're just *huge* hypocrites. They have some of the most extensive anti-terrorism powers laws on the books. And the French gendarmes have no qualms about physical force. It's just that it didn't suit their egos that USA would attain even more power by dominating middle east directly. So they chose opposition to the war, to the detriment of their own security. But don't mistake them for being weak on internal policing - they don't mess around. Problem is during the 80s they let it go too far. Now they're paying the price. And we will probably have to contribute to this...
Note to France: Don't apologize for using tear gas in the mosque. It is a good idea. Poison right in the ants' nest, that's where you put it.
Does anybody have stats that project at what point France will have a muslim majority?
They're tough on internal policing because they recruit Corsicans as gendarmes.
The USA had better wake up to our own Muslim problem. It's not just Ahmed at the 7-11, but also these homegrowns running with Farrakhan.
Religious freedom is critical to the ongoing American experiment, but I can't see how it can last while muslims continue to vie for worldwide domination by any means necessary (including using the religious tolerance of their foes as a smoke screen) and the destruction of Israel.
Note to France: Don't expect any American troops.
This is just an initial skirmish. The real battle won't start for a few more years. When it does, France will be destroyed or become Islamic (or both).
But, since France has chosen to be our enemy, why should we care?
Repeat after me....Islam is a religion of peace!
....Sarkozy, addressing police officers, vowed to find how tear gas had been fired into the Muslim place of worship...
The best course is to mimic Janet Reno and claim it didn't happen and even if it did, they fired first.
He won by using illegal substances...soap and deodorant!
