Republican Senate nominee Bernie Moreno is tied with Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) in Ohio after eroding the incumbent Democrats’ once-substantial lead.Moreno has fought through both a bruising primary and tens of millions in attack ads from Brown and Democrat groups in what has become the most expensive Senate race of the cycle. An internal poll from the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has Moreno tied with Brown at 46 percent, the Hill reported. In April, that same poll had Moreno down seven points to Brown.Republicans have rushed to support Moreno in the deepening red state, outspending Democratic groups by $41 million during...

Marlean Ames, 60, filed a lawsuit against the Ohio Department of Youth Services, alleging she was passed over for a promotion and ultimately demoted because she is heterosexual. The US Supreme Court is set to hear a case involving an Ohio woman who claims her workplace discriminated against her by prioritizing her gay and male colleagues. Specifically, the Supreme Court will rule on the question of whether or not the woman needs to "make a showing in addition to the usual ones for establishing a prima-facie case" due to her being of the non-minority, heterosexual status. The ruling from the...

In response to a criminal complaint filed by a nonprofit, an Ohio judicial panel on Saturday decided not to issue arrest warrants for former President Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance after they spread false claims about Haitian migrants eating pets in Springfield, Ohio. During his debate against Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, last month, Trump, the GOP nominee, repeated a claim that Haitian migrants in Springfield were "eating the pets." Vance, a U.S. senator from Ohio, has also spread the false claim. Meanwhile, ABC News moderator David Muir fact-checked Trump during the September 10...

New polling numbers out of the states of Ohio and Wisconsin are very good news for Mitch McConnell and very bad news for Chuck Schumer. Panic seems to be setting in for Democrats as they see their chances of retaining control of the Senate slip from their grasp. In Ohio, Democrat incumbent Sherrod Brown is consistently polling behind his Republican rival, Bernie Moreno. RedState reported last week on polling from RMG Research that showed Moreno ahead of Brown by a 48 percent to 46 percent margin. New polling out from ActiVote confirms Moreno's lead, with the new data having Moreno sitting...

An Ohio mom has been sentenced to 40 years behind bars after she was caught on camera ambushing her ex-husband and fatally injecting him with a powerful animal tranquilizer during an ugly custody dispute over their kids, federal prosecutors said. Amanda Hovanec, 37, pleaded guilty this week to poisoning 36-year-old Timothy Hovanec when he arrived to drop off their three daughters at her Wapakoneta home in 2022. “She then pulled on his back to bring him to the ground, holding him around the neck until his body went limp and he became unresponsive, lying on the driveway,” prosecutors said. Newly...

I am a very big fan of the podcasters at the Daily Wire: Matt Walsh, Ben Shapiro, Michael Knowles, and Andrew Klavan. I don’t agree with them on everything, but I enjoy their intelligent takes and humor. They and I agree that JD Vance did a wonderful job during the vice-presidential debate, but they all missed how well he did on the abortion issue. When Walz was asked about abortion, he launched easily into the shtick that it’s all about women’s healthcare while boasting about what a wonderful state Minnesota is for abortion. He had to lie, of course, about the...

A man wearing a blonde wig, makeup and pearls was arrested on Sunday for attempting to kidnap an 11-year-old boy from outside his home in Alliance, Ohio, police said. Joshua Freyermuth, 39, who also goes by the name Vicky, told the child 'I need to talk to you' in an attempt to lure the 11-year-old off of his property and away from his dog. When the child refused, Freyermuth attempted to grab him on South Webb Avenue. He was arrested at a friend's house and taken to jail, with a court date set for Monday, police said. The child's father,...

As I write this, the vice presidential debate between Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is living up to the hype as Vance is wiping the floor with Walz, leaving him stammering and staring as though he can't remember anything from his script except "But Trump!"AdvertisementWalz at the VP debate: pic.twitter.com/0a2J79LmDS— Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) October 2, 2024I think Walz is going to vote for Vance. 😂 #VPDebate2024 pic.twitter.com/3EfxGxBDKt— under construction! (@PHX_LC) October 2, 2024The best part of the night so far, in my opinion, was when the CBS News moderators tried to "fact check" Vance on the...

President Joe Biden’s pro-migration border chief suggested Monday that Springfield, Ohio, “has blossomed by reason of the infusion of individuals from another country.” Alejandro Mayorkas, the Cuban-born secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, chose not to name the city, nor the resulting blight that many Americans face amid lower wages, higher rents, civic chaos, and minimal support or respect from local politicians. Mayorkas, a careful lawyer, also chose to bury the memory of two Springfielders killed during the claimed blossoming.

This is another installment of things we have uncovered about our little town's managing elites. THEY do not have the people of this town's best interests at heart. Just another way people in the know in our local government can make money. We are only scratching the surface.

MOUNT VERNON — It is indeed a special event the county celebrates this week: the 250th birthday anniversary of John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed. His birth, on Sept. 26, 1774, in Leominster, Massachusetts, marks the beginning of a story that continues to be enjoyed by young and old alike. He spent most of his long adult life sharing his religious faith with others, planting apple orchards so that pioneer families would have apples awaiting their arrival in the newly formed State of Ohio and beyond, and caring for animals, wildlife and friends who needed his assistance. His life...

An Ohio police chief says his access to Springfield’s police radio frequency was cut off after the beleaguered city became a political lightening rod over its Haitian immigrant crisis. Tremont City Police Chief Chad Duncan told Blaze News’ Julio Rosas that Springfield has fallen into “absolute turmoil” since being inundated with up to 20,000 Haitian nationals, and said the lawlessness is spreading to nearby towns, including his own. Tremont City is located approximately eight miles north of Springfield. Springfield has attracted national media attention in recent weeks over reports that some of the Haitians were stealing and eating pets and...

Far-left blogger Ken Klippenstein has published an internal campaign vetting dossier on the 2024 Republican Party’s vice presidential nominee, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH). Klippenstein, who previously worked as a journalist with The Intercept and the far-left progressive commentary web show The Young Turks, posted the material believed to have been hacked by the Islamic Republic of Iran on his Substack on Thursday. The National Pulse is choosing not to link to the dossier, given the plethora of personal information contained therein. The dossier published by Klippenstein contains a bevy of private information belonging to Vance, including his social security number,...

Julio Rosas spoke with Bill Monaghan, a resident of Springfield, Ohio, to get to the source of the rising tensions in the area. Monaghan explained that although the massive influx of Haitian immigrants has been linked to duck disappearances, deaths as a result of reckless driving, and women feeling unsafe in their hometown, the local administration has insinuated that anyone who speaks up is a racist. But these scare tactics haven't intimidated everyone.

At the Columbus, Ohio, gun turn-in/”buyback” event on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at least two private buyers were seen looking for deals. In the event’s coverage, this correspondent did not find any mention of the private buyers. The cameraman could not resist their compelling image. The image of private buyers destroys the “guns are bad, turn them in” message. In an event where city officials are deliberately paying “more than market value” in gift cards, it is difficult to find bargains. Once the gift cards run out, the dynamic reverses. Cash in hand is better than no gift cards. From...
