This is another installment of things we have uncovered about our little town's managing elites. THEY do not have the people of this town's best interests at heart. Just another way people in the know in our local government can make money. We are only scratching the surface.
My even smaller city is the same way: the “leaders” are all thick as thieves and crooked as a dog’s hind leg.

The proposal to tax unrecognized capital gains, which Harris supports, is designed to accomplish exactly that.

Basic maintenance. All systems need them. But the human inclination is toward inertia, in other words until things get really bad we do not change them. This results in us needing to do tear-downs when a regular simple tune up would have prevented the problem.
So switch out your politicians and bureaucrats frequently. For the sake of the system and the sake of their souls.

Unrecognized profits is exactly why I got out of the stock market. Unrecognized Capital Gains and a higher tax brackets killed me unless I wanted to work with crooked tax attorneys.
True story. Clark county farmer I know bought a farm. Rented out the farmhouse, went last month to check on the house . He found 26 cots inside. Called the township clerk who told him the owner would be held responsible for the violation of state Nile family home ordinance .
