Former President Donald Trump is set to announce his new plan to bolster the US Border Patrol with 10,000 new agents who will be given raises and bonuses to keep them on the force, according to his campaign team.
The Republican presidential candidate, who will speak at a rally in Prescott, Arizona Sunday afternoon, vows to ask Congress for the funds to hire 10,000 new agents to patrol across America’s borders.
Trump’s plan reportedly includes giving the agents an immediate 10% raise, as well as a $10,000 retention and signing bonus, his team said.
The plan would increase the number of agents by nearly a third, up from the current tally of around 22,000 Border Patrol agents, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Trump’s stop in the Grand Canyon State comes just days after Vice President Kamala Harris held her own campaign rally there without touching the issue of illegal immigration.
Harris and President Joe Biden have garnered the bulk of the flak over the border following record levels of illegal crossings during their administration.

I just retired from the Border Patrol. We get paid and compensated very well. Border Patrol Agents DON’T need more money. They need to be UNLEASHED.
He’ll also have to take at least 100 of those 747s that are sitting idle in the Arizona desert and about 1,000 old Greyhound buses out of storage.

Funny you mention that, I watched James O’Keefe’s Line in the Sand. The BP agent on there made $120k. I was thinking that was a pretty good haul!

we don’t really need more agents, just issue weapons and be prepared to use them. a few snipers could ultimately save hundreds of lives, and millions if not billions of dollars.
This government HAS to stop ‘paroling’ illegal entrants to this country they catch INTO the country with just a phone number and some hearing date. They ALL need to be sent BACK. If there’s a law against that, CHANGE it or ignore it like Biden/Harris does with everything.
Could/should not the National Guard be deployed to secure the borders? It’s almost as if there is a subtle clue in the very name “National Guard.” Why new hires while the National Guard sits idle?
IIRC Trump had to fight for every thing he tried to do to close the border. Even though we had the House and the Senate for his first two years, they would not go along with what he wanted. Actions he tried to take were challenged in court over and over again. Money for the border wall, which was in the single digit billions, nothing like we send to Ukraine, every few months, had to be taken legally from some other accounts ……. maybe the military.
Somehow Biden got to do whatever he wanted with executive action and was almost never taken to court, I do hope that Trump wins, but the demos will start once again taking him right back to court
Shoring up border security is obviously important, however the bulk of the problem now is in the interior of the country, and it’s not just illegals but the actual US citizens that enable them.
The plan should include catapults to heave the wankers back across the Rio Grande into Mexico where they belong.
He’ll have to unseat both Chuck and Mitch from leadership. They’ll both block this. Chuck because he’s Chuck, and Mitch because he’s a back-stabber.

I think many of the agents want to do their job and take pride in protecting the border but the commie administration, Myorkas the communist, is ordering them to serve sandwiches and fill out paper work to welcome the invaders. Trump needs to tell them to do their job and they will do it. I dont mind hiring more but build the freaking wall.
