Boycott Hollywood Anti-Americans List Updated

updated list to include Dustin Hoffman, who recently opened his big mouth...
We the undersigned American Citizens stand against Wealthy Hollywood Celebrities abusing their status to speak for us. We do not believe that they have a clear understanding of how we live, what we fear, and what we support. We believe that celebrities Martin Sheen, Mike Farrell, Tim Robbins, Rob Reiner, Barbara Streisand, and others with them are using their celebrity to interfere with the defense of our country. We believe that Hollywood Celebrities use their wealth to make their own personal issues known while Americans would never have the resources to speak out in this manner. We support President Bush in his efforts to defend our homeland, to defend democracy, and to take any measures to end the threat of terrorism. We do not claim to know more than anyone, especially President Bush. We elect a President who we can trust to make proper decisions based on facts available to him and not available to the rest of us. This is one reason trustworthiness and character is important in the people we elect into office. War is not easy, there are many before us who sacrificed their lives for freedom and if supporting citizens in other countries who cry out for democracy and freedom aids in the war against terrorism we support it. This Statement and its signatures will be published publicly and or delivered to Martin Sheen and Mike Farrell.

My husband likes the History and Discovery channels. I enjoyed the documentaries on Egypt and the pyraminds, etc. I love to read and just don't do it as much as I used to. Thanks for the suggestions! Love, M

...Actually, I enjoyed watching Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn in Dead Man Walking last night. Sarandon won an Academy Award for Best Actress, and Penn was nominated as Best Actor. Truly great film....
As a resident of Louisiana where the film is set and having seen the film, I don't share your enthusiasm. As polite as I can say it, Sarandon does is not a "star" for her gifts in pretending to be someone else. Her gifts are that she performs great lewd sex on screen. See Bull Durham, White Palace, The Hunger, Thelma and Louise. Without these films her career would be as an unknown and in each her gift is not her strong pretending to be someone else.
I have no problem with naughty bits on screen (I kinda' like them) but that really is the extent of her talent.
The contribution of the performer in movies is seriously overrated. The writing (which gets short credit) is really the critical part of a movie or play. What ego driven half talents do is really unimportant.
That being said, Doug McClure and Roddy McDowell were overlooked giants.

Probably, but I have to watch him when he's on Murder She Wrote. I don't know anything about him.
To: cubreporter
I loved Hunt for the Red October but...threw it out. If you're trying to hit these people in the pocketbook, how does throwing out a movie you've already bought accomplish that?
Better, I would think, would be to sell the used copy so as to hopefully result in one less new copy being purchased.

True, but...it gives me such great joy to toss it in the trash heap where it belongs. At least I know it is not soiling an area in my home.
As for hitting them in the pocketbook, I can do that too by not going to the movies. However, I alone will not make a dent but if everyone does it will make a huge dent.
Besides, I don't like knowing I have any video in my house starring people that go against our President and our country when we are at war. It's like having something evil lurking in my home. That's my little boycott. :)

I spell their names wrong all the time on purpose.
To: garyhope
Yeah, that takes great talent. :)

Well, I'd respect him more if he would stand up and outwardly support President Bush. Guess you can't have everything but how nice it would be for someone to put their core beliefs and values out there for evryone to see instead of hiding behind whatever.

I stand up for Sam Jackson's right to his opinion like I have a right to mine. I would defend his right ot his opinion as well. He did what he thought was right and then let it go. It's the bashing or our President and his policies and the almost supporting of the enemy that will always and forever remain in my mind with these other people. By the way...Jeniofer anistin....overrated, yes?
To: Rocko
Yes, classics for sure.
To: Marysecretary
Yes, so much to learn on the History and Discovery not to mention the Travel channel. Learn, learn, learn. So important. Good shows for sure. :)

Add David Cross, co-star of the "Mr. Show" on HBO (which I don't have so I have not seen the show), to the list.
He was on Carson Daly's Late Night TV show last night and Daly asked about comments of his disdain for Bush that he has included in the liner notes to his new "comedy" CD.
Cross elaborated how much he hated Bush and that he was positive he was "the worst President ever".
When Daly asked Cross what he had thought of Clinton, Cross replied "I didn't really think about him that much when he was President, but now, I love him more than ever."

They had something on the pyramids tonight that was interesting. I love history (not revisionist) and especially ancient history. It was my best subject in school (a thousand years ago). Once in a while we watch the Travel channel, too. M
To: Marysecretary
Funny you mentioned revisionist history...I was going to mention that when I said they had good shows ... was going to add that line about revisionist history. Didn't but...you did. Good for you. :)
To: cubreporter
And don't the Biography Channel. No, not the ones about the spoiled rotten celebrities, but the ones about historical figures. One of my favorites was about the brother and sister team of Neimann-Marcus. Great capitalists!
