The Free Republic first quarter '03 FReepathon is now underway! .... Thread 3

Our goal for this fundraiser is the same as last quarter: $65,000. We have about $4,000 per month coming in from monthly donors so we will need to raise approx $53,000 to hit the target.

The funds raised through these fundraisers are used to pay our operating costs. Free Republic operates on an approximate $260,000 annual budget (breakdown here) and all funds are provided by donations from FReepers and Lurkers.

Thank you all very much for your continued support.

P.S. We are planning to make FreeRepublic.com email addresses available as a thank you to all who donate at least once per year. This new feature should be ready to go within a few days. We will post a notice and a link for donors to setup their FR email address as soon as it's ready.

Thanks for posting this great news about the new monthlies:

This is from the official scoreboard:

January 10th AM we had 221 monthlies for $4,196 per month.

January 17th AM we have 265 monthlies for $5,010 per month.

That's 44 more monthlies and $829 more per month.

Great work, everyone!

That is about a 20% increase in Freepers now making monthlies.

The $ increase is about a 20% increase each month.

As the founding member od the Loose Change Club, I am finally checking in and cashing in.

Each week-end, I empty my change purse, keep a couple of dollars in change and pour the rest into an old sock. (Actually a zip-lock bag. LOL!) The nickles and dimes add up between Freepathons, and the amount varies from week to week --month to month -----BUT it is a painless way to donate.

The yield since the last Freepathon came to $48.16. I'll round that up to $50 and send it to add to the till.
