Are You New To Free Republic? New Or Not- Fly Your State/Country Flag!
5/19/02

Posted on 05/19/2002 11:31:29 AM PDT by TaRaRaBoomDeAyGoreLostToday!

There are still lots of FReepers who have not chosen to fly their flag. You don't have to provide any additional information, although lots of FReepers have provide pictures, e-mail addresses, and the like, you don't have to! It would be nice if you would at least "fly your flag".

This allows other FReepers in your state to FReepmail you to let you know about local FR events - rallies, chapter meetings, and other activist events.

Even if you don't plan to participate, it'll keep you informed of what is happening in your state. Now, FLY YOUR FLAGS!

Even if you don't care to "fly the flag" of your state, at least select United States as your country so that you'll be flying Old Glory. Selecting your "Location" on your FReeper Profile doesn't provide any real information about you that can be used in any meaningfully underhanded ways.

So don't hesitate today. Go to your personal profile page.

Just click on the link I just provided and select Edit Profile. There, you can select the flag you want to fly under (by using the location drop-down list) and post a few tidbits about yourself if you wish.

I fly my CALIFORNIA state flag proudly. But I can't help but notice, that many, that eagerly and routinely attack my state, don't have seem to have enough pride in their own state to display their state flags.

Americans are forever in debt to California all because of one man that changed America.

Why, it's only Ronald Reagan.

They probably live in liberal areas such as in New England.

I admit that my state is socalist and addicted to big government, but we do have the #1 TERPS!!!!

California 998 FReepers

Texas 992 FReepers

You are kicking Texas' ***, so your state contributed the most to Free Republic, after all Jim Robinson is from Fresno, California and we all know who he is. :)

I have a feeling that socialism and big government are not isolated to just a few states.

Only the proud and committed will continue to fight on when vastly outnumbered.

Yes, Free Republic is amazing, we have around 80,000 FReepers now, and we contributed to the election of President Bush in 2000. I do believe that if it was not for Free Republic, George W. Bush would not be the 43rd President of the United States.

So we already made a big impact in America!

Conch Repubic celebrates its independence

By Staff reports

On April 23 each year, The Conch Republic celebrates the anniversary of its independence from the United States of America.

It was born on April 23, 1982 in response to a United States Border Patrol blockade of the Florida Keys.

A history and position paper from the hastily-formed Conch Republic's Office of the Secretary General states that because the United States government treated the Keys like a foreign country, then-Key West Mayor Dennis Wardlow seceded from the Union, declared war, surrendered and demanded foreign aid.

During the intervening years, the U.S. never reacted to the secession, thereby establishing the sovereignty for the Conch Republic under International Law governing "adverse possession between soveriegn nations."

The Conch Republic celebrates its independence annually in a "public and notorious manner" during a ten-day celebration.

WOW, a ten-day celebration in a "public and notorious manner". Sounds like fun. Is there room for one more?
