I live in Maine.

Collins received more than 50% of the vote plus just one additional vote in November 2020. She did not get re-elected by rank choice voting. I think she had 53% of the vote.

If a candidate for federal office in Maine receives LESS than 50% of the vote plus one additional vote, then RCV will kick in.

Democrat Jared Golden, the Maine second district congress critter, won his House seat in 2018 because of rank choice voting....GOP incumbent Bruce Poliquin actually received 2,200 more votes but lost.

Hang on here, folks...

This guy is gone on new years day, and I’ve seen no word on the new guy (Adams) going along with this.

So, everyone just hold off (give Mr. Willhelm the middle finger for about 3 weeks), or simply file an injunction that’ll hold till January.

Adams does NOT want to walk into office with a mega crisis on his hands (e.g. the entire NYPD and FDNY walking off the job).

Hold fast, people.

That is all.

Bobblehead De Boobie believes he is a revolutionary marxist. He might have endorsed Adams but that was only after the primary. He wanted his chief czarette Garcia, but interestingly, ranked-choice thwarted that loony bitch by just 7,200 votes. Schadenfreude!

So Bobblehead is attempting to handcuff Adams to a dead policy, a policy that has been repudiated already (via full faith and credit) from other, smarter, Federal Circuits.

Adams needs a clever reproach to De Boobie, one would be to silently encourage a blizzard of lawsuits to enjoin such a lame, hasty mandate.

But if Adams wanted to be bold and immediately elevate himself as a different-kind-of-Democrat on the national stage, foment a repudiation of De Boobie (and the entirety of his enmity admin) and hire a dream team assembled from the recent 6th Circuit victors, in particular led by DhillonLaw's Harmeet K. Dhillon, who represented Bentkey Services, LLC ("The Daily Wire"), filed jointly with ADF Legal - Alliance Defending Freedom. Of the combined cases that produced the 6th Circuit victory, their Petition was fascinatingly compelling.

De Blasio, whose mayoralty ends at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, labeled making vaccines compulsory for private businesses a “pre-emptive strike”...

I prefer to think of it as "one more kick in the crotch on the way out the door."

It's interesting that Gov. Hochul bought off Kathryn Garcia for the same kind of czarette position upstate, as defense against Bobblehead's likely run for Governor. Garcia can #MeToo De Boobie in the primary; when in reality De Boobie should probably try to primary Gillibrand.

Bobblehead is as dumb as the day is long. The kind of calumny he generated as Mayor, including his wife's $1B disappearing act, is probably less of a liability for a Senate run than a goobernatorial run. Just look at Carpetbagging Cankle$ as proof-of-concept.

RCV-enabled machines can still be used screw with a vote. To send certain ballots to adjudication for example.

Do you happen to know anything about adjudication rates in ME since RCV-enabled machines have been in use...?

Just ignore it.

Some will, but the majority will follow along like the good little sheeple they are.

Enjoy the suck!

He has no authority to do it. And he'll be out of office. Hochul's idea? Meanwhile the mayor-elect is on personal business (adoption?) in Ghana. Eric Adams keyword, sorted:

I have no idea about the adjudication rates. But it took a number of weeks in 2018 to determine the outcome of the Second District Congressional race. Were there shenanigans? I don’t know.

President Trump won Maine’s Second District in spite of RCV in 2020....Jared Golden won without RCV kicking in during the 2020 race....Chellie Pingree won the First District in 2018 and 2020 without RCV kicking in....Angus King won re-election to his senate seat in 2018....Susan Collins won in 2020.

A court ruled that RCV only applies to federal elections in Maine, not state elections.

The Maine Constitution mentions a plurality of votes, whereas the Federal Constitution does not. That was the judge’s reasoning.

As far as I know, the only candidate to lose a fall election because of RCV was incumbent Second District Congressman Bruce Poliquin in 2018.

Poliquin is going to run again in 2022.

Looking at the reactions to this across social media the rejection has been explosive and angry. The only support for it I've seen have been copy & paste hit-and-run trolls. Outside of outright refusals to comply discussions about legal strategies have been brisk.

Some people ask — can’t you challenge this in court?

Well, the city workers did — Teachers, Fire Fighters, Police... they LOST.

The court decided that the CITY can as a condition of being employed by the city, require certain conditions be first met, including vaccination.

The judge did recognize that a national mandate was different, but the judge ruled that this is a local matter.

Now, the question is this — is this decision applicable to employees in PRIVATE businesses? Will New Jerseyans and Connecticutians who work in New York be forced to take the vaccine against their will?

We don’t know how a judge will decide.

For all New Yorkers take note -— BILL DE BLASIO’s NEXT AMBITION IS TO RAN FOR GOVERNOR OF THE ENTIRE STATE !!

If you think you can escape his policies because you don’t live or work in the city, wait till he becomes governor... ( or you can stop this by permanently retiring him ).
