The First Lady wants you to drink more water.
On a call announcing Michelle Obamas newest healthy living initiative Wednesday, Lets Move Executive Director Sam Kass explained that the White House is working with cities, private companies and public taps to promote the message to drink up.
Participating companies include Brita, Poland Spring, Evian, Dasani, Voss and others, which will carry a Drink Up logo on their bottles, and participating cities include Chicago, Los Angeles county, Houston and, appropriately, Watertown, Wis., where the First Lady is visiting Thursday to kick off the initiative.

There’s some Scotch in with my water.

Is Moochele coming to Houston to drum up black community support for the not so popular Democrat lesbian mayor who is up for re-election?
Oh... Ok, she was advertising for water bottling companies.
Right...
I guess it is better than Having Michelle use the slogan: Have fun, be young- DRINK PEPSI!
“My advice to you is to start drinking heavily”. Senator Blutarski.
I concur with Mooch. I drink a lot of water. I drink my ice cubes nice and melty and sloshy with Jim Beam Red Stag.
I just am more sparing with the Elijah Craig. Pricy and not to be watered too much.
Mooch should be happy that Kentucky bourbon is made with the most wonderful soft water in the world.
Thank you, Mooch, for your input on water consumption.
Evian spelled backwards = naive.
when did these so called adults become attached to water bottles like sippycups that they can't goto their doctor/dentist/lawyer/hairdresser or anyplace else without one gripped in their claw???
Now my spidey senses are tingling.
What is she having added to the water?
(Phys.org) A team of researchers in Germany has identified an endocrine-disrupting chemical (EDC) found in samples taken from commercial bottled water. In their paper published in PLoS ONE, the team describes the methods they used to isolate the EDC found in the water samples.
EDCs (man-made compounds used in many plastics) have been found to interfere with hormonal systems in several types of organismsparticularly in reproductive and development activities. They have come to light as it has been determined that several types of EDCs are present in plastics that are used to store food or water. Bisphenol A is one such notorious chemical that was until recently found in the plastic makeup of baby bottles. In this new effort, the researchers sought to determine if there were EDCs seeping into water consumers buy in bottles, and if so, which ones they might be.
Thank you for the list of companies; now I know which ones to avoid buying. On a hot day I prefer fermented water made from hops anyway.
Aren't black women the biggest (as in marketing demographic) consumers of Pepsi?
Hence, the big bucks spent to run this during a Super Bowl

Perrier once had a problem with benzene in their product after improperly cleaning the bottling machines.
Yeah, I think I remember that. It was many years ago. Now they’re looking at the chemical that’s put in certain plastics to harden it — bisphenyl A or some such thing. You’ll find it in the clear plastic bottles, water, Coke, Pepsi, etc. No chemist here — don’t even wanna pretend to be one. But the polyethylene containers (i.e. the milk bottles, etc.) are OK.
