According to the rules of engagement the Sons of Sam only attack if you attack them first. May be for the next World Cup this needs to be changed. Go ahead and shoot from the beginning.
When General Petraeus is done with Afghanistan he may counsel Team USA on how to change to rules of engagement.
It is no coincidence Ghana is the last team standing from the continent hosting the tournament. The Black Stars have four Africa Cup of Nations trophies. The team was the youngest during the World Cup 2006. Now the youngsters are all grown-ups and shining.
Kevin-Prince who scored the first goal was born in Berlin and used to play for the German youth team. His grandfather Helmut Rahn scored the winning goal in the 1954 World Cup Final (West Germany 3 Hungary 2). He would have been proud of his grandson.
There is a theoretical possibility today that both brothers will play against each other if Ghana and Germany reach the World Cup Final (if Princes injury is not too serious).
5-time NBA Champion Kobe Bryant and two-term US President Bill Clinton brought star-shine to the VIP box. Both proved to be successful in their career with just occasional distraction of a sex scandal. The Bad Boys cheered for Team USA faithfully.
Landon Donovan was the leader for the Sons of Sam through the tournament. He calmly scored the penalty shot that gave the Team USA hopes through the regular time.
Gyan from Ghana was the person who killed the US Dreams for another chance on quarterfinal at the beginning of the extra time. The State Department should put him on the no-fly list until the next World Cup.
See you back in four years! Say, say, USA!

You can only pull off miracles so many times. Eventually skill will out.

Ah well, it was painful but the reality was that Donovan and Howard were carrying us and Altidore who was supposed to be the scorer was INVISIBLE the whole time.
Kudos to Clint Dempsey who gave everything and it showed.
Now we can forget this ‘global” propaganda and get back to the real football...NFL.
USA—the best on the planet! Oorah!
We ARE the best in everything never doubt!
(But not really!)
The US need a couple of individuals within the team. They have a solid foundation of players but just lack that individual brilliance.
Not being cruel, but I wonder how many coaches at the lowest age groups know anything about the game.
Soccer is still little more than athletic communism.
First goal was 16 yards out near post. Howard has to stop that. 2nd goal took a perfect long pass and a very impressive finish by the Ghana guy. US had plenty of opportunities. They need one more top flight player who can finish.

Can we please finally Fire Bob Bradley.
His stupid decision not to start Edu killed us.
Altidore played for Ghana. Count how many times he gave up the ball to Ghana - not forced errors.
In what way?
I try to stay positive. Ghana was a good team. They won fair.
They have finishers, we don’t, that’s the bottom line and will continue to be the bottom line until we can develop some guys who can finish.
And that starts with coaching. We need a top-flight coach to get us to that next level, and Bradley simply won’t cut it.
You’re right. Imagine if Altidore was a better finisher.
I do not know much about game but was the foul that gave USA a point blank penalty shot a close call? I thought the Ghana player went for the ball, his foot hit the ball, and then they tangled. Ref called foul. Point blank shot and goal. Did not seem fair to me. Also, on Ghana’s last goal, that guy was mugged on the way to the net, but I guess if you score it is all forgiven
Sure the Ghana guy finished well, but why was he allowed to be in the position he was. Ghana didn't send men forward very often, but it seemed to when when they did whoever got the ball only had to beat one man.
What was the story with Atidore? I couldn't stand the ABC BS so I was listening to Univision which I could not understand. I thought he performed best throughout. I was yelling for them to get the ball to him on Wednesday; and they did.

I thought the same thing... Altidore just seemed to not be IN the game... at all.
At times, he looked as if he were injured. Ya have to wonder.
