San Francisco's Mayor London Breed is setting up her city's social workers for potential bloodshed, offering a series of "reforms" that even her former police commissioner calls "pure political pandering."

San Francisco police will no longer be called to settle disputes between neighbors, or to handle homeless people, or any non-criminal cases, according to a new plan announced by Mayor London Breed.

Sure we could have punished them in a traditional manner:

• Rubber bullet to the eye
• Teargas
• Fire hose
• Water boarding
• Knocking them over by ramming police vans into their barricades NYC style
• Arresting them so they sit in a COVID infested holding cell for 2 hours before they walk.
• Forcing them to trust a public defender or pony up money for a defense lawyer.

But sending Social Workers at them!!! This is psychological nightmare they are ill prepared for.

Actually there’s a significant percentage of calls that should be social workers not cops. Cops job is to arrest people. When all you send is a hammer, shouldn’t be surprised when things get nailed. Welfare checks, homeless people, these really are better handled by somebody with a different career goal.

LOL!! I hope their Union has a lot of money in their funeral fund, and I hope the government has money in the pension fund to hand over to the survivors. If you die while working for the government, your widow/widower gets a specific sum of money based on how many years you worked, as part of your pension plan.

They'll probably end up committing suicide...too much pressure. Most of them claim they're overwhelmed with the caseloads they've got. Throw this at them, and they'll be cringing in the corners.

Actually, I find this idea intriguing. Some police work, now that there are laws about everything(!) is more suited to “social workers”.

I bet it’s a disaatrous mess though.
