October 21, 2015: BOOM:Trump Reveals First Dept. He’ll Cut as President…Liberals Howl in Horror

Speaking with Fox News host Chris Wallace this weekend, 2016 GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump made a remarkable statement about what he planned for the Department of Education, if and when he becomes president.

"I may cut Department of Education," Trump said. "I believe Common Core is a very bad thing. I believe that we should be -- you know, educating our children from Iowa, from New Hampshire, from South Carolina, from California, from New York. I think that it should be local education."

Many Americans agree, especially as the Department of Education has grown into a massive bureaucracy more focused on indoctrinating students in the Islamic faith and "white privilege" than in actually teaching them things that matter, like, say, literature and math.

Plus, getting rid of the Department of Education would give parents much more power over what their children learn.

However, whether Trump could get actually rid of Common Core, which is his apparent goal, remains to be seen.

As The Daily Caller reporter Blake Neff explained, "While Common Core is promoted indirectly by the Department of Education, it is still adopted individually by state governments, and the federal government does not control it."

Still, it's a very worthwhile goal to consider since many parents are fed-up with Common Core's "one-size-fits-all" approach to education.

Frankly, education is much too important to be mass produced ... and thankfully, most Americans, including Donald Trump, get this.

If anyone wants to follow this thread back to the beginning they will find you are lying. You knew exactly what the thread was talking about when the word schlong was used. You pretended like you had never seen this usage and yet you had commented on threads where schlong had been talked about. You may disagree with Trump’s usage of what the word schlong means but to say you are totally ignorant of the subject is a lie. I can accept the fact that the word “schlong” may mean something different than what other people thinks it means, but your lies about your ignorance of the subject is indicative of your character.

I’m pretty sure Cruz wasn’t as clumsy in his speech as Trump is. ;-)

See the post right after yours. You can remain a Cruz supporter, as Cruz has been on this longer than Trump.

I appreciate your steadfast work on FR, speaking the truth about Cruz. I suspect you receive a lot of hassle from Trump-minded FReepers ...

Seriously? He wouldn’t do anything about the out of control EPA, or the out of control consumer financial protection bureau, or ...?

Aww, Starstruck, are you still having trouble?

Gosh I feel bad for you. Are you going to be okay?

Do you want me to call someone for you?

LINK to 137: Schluck my schlong. Doesn't mean anything. Your guy is telling it like it is.

LINK to 139: If that meant something to you, fine. It meant nothing to me.

LINK to 142: Sure it did . You are on this site daily. You are a liar.

LINK to 143: Then you tell me what it meant to you. That first sentence didn't mean anything to me. One word in there is a word I'd never heard before. Duh!

LINK to 153: THIS ONE FOLKS CAN GO AND LOOK AT. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW YOU THINK THIS FIT IN.

LINK to 154: Schluck... (the word in post 137 I hadn't heard before) You really are a dim bulb.

I was honest with you about having not heard that word before. And having not heard that word before, I could not discern what you intended to convey.

Then you called me a liar for telling you straight up that I didn't know the word.

And how the hell did you think post 153 fit in with this?

I did not copy our whole conversation. I addressed the part you called me a liar about.

You're not the only Cruz supporter that has seemed to have come unhinged. Perhaps you could start a support group.

I was only responding to a "Cruz did it first in November" post/poster. If Cruz did it before October that is fine - but that is not what the OP said.

I'm sorry I lashed out at you but I don't post on Cruz threads where I think he and his supporters are wrong but there is a group that post on every Trump thread criticizing Trump over Cruz.

My point is that Cruz wasn't giving a lawyerly answer. Cruz was giving a constitutional answer.

And my point is that he's a lawyer, and can give you twenty different definitions of "constitution" between bites of a sandwich at lunch. That's just a fact.

“Works well for Cruz, he thought he’d return the favor.”

Cruz stole idea from Rick Perry so what’s the big deal?

And there are Trump posters on Cruz threads criticizing Cruz. It works both ways. And it will be that way a couple more months.

IMO, as long as a poster sticks to the facts and doesn't make things up, then it's no big deal.

Have a good night.

I dunno... I would definitely fire the entire Justice Dept. first. But then, that’s me.

I hate it when that happens!

Now I can't resist researching and learning how the Justice Department was created. I (ignorantly) assume that it was created in the original Constitution, or was this the creation of an ancient Obama or a rogue Supreme Court (like the one in place at the end of the Civil War?)

In a few days I might be a tiny bit wiser.

Or not.

Really? I thought all the attorneys who are at the DoJ work at the pleasure of the president, except for the AG.

I think, but am not sure that's exactly backwards. Control you appointee, the AG and the needful drones comply or lose their jobs.

All that's needed is an endless supply of insecure incompetents.

I have to laugh at that inane comment.

That's OK. I laugh at a lot of your stuff too.

Are you really too young to remember how these functions were performed before Jimmy Carter (whose involvement in its founding explains why it performs so poor) established the education department?

I was a few months old when Carter left office, so yeah. But a Google search showed that there was a Department of Health, Education, and Welfare so I would assume that those functions fell under that.

Dead wrong.

Most of those functions were performed by mostly unpaid, volunteers in local school boards. That is why the United States lead the world in primary education .

Instead of political machine bureaucrats with education degrees designing the curriculum, we used parents of the local school children. Most districts elected doctors and engineersrand lawyers to these boards. They did a far better job and they did it cheap.

So no, dissolving the DEA doesn’t produce a lot of work the Federal government has to pay different people to do. It just turns a lot of buildings and furniture into surplus to sell off.

Cruz was a Constitutionalist long before he was a lawyer. He knew every word of the Constitution by heart when he was 13 years old. As a teenager, he traveled with a group that spoke on the Constitution and the founding of our country.

When I load my gun to go to the range, I thank God for Ted Cruz who won a landmark decision before the Supreme Court defending the 2nd Amendment. When I see a veteran, I thank God for them and for their rights that Cruz fought for before the Supreme Court and won. I could go on, but I hope you get my drift.
