NAPLES, Florida -- Ben Carson stood by his long-held belief about ancient pyramids in Egypt, that they were used to store grain, rather than to inter pharaohs.
Asked about this Wednesday, Carson told CBS News, "It's still my belief, yes."
The subject came up when Buzzfeed published a 1998 commencement speech delivered by Carson at Andrews University, a college founded by Seventh-day Adventists.
"My own personal theory is that Joseph built the pyramids to store grain," Carson said. "Now all the archeologists think that they were made for the pharaohs' graves. But, you know, it would have to be something awfully big if you stop and think about it. And I don't think it'd just disappear over the course of time to store that much grain."

Not many people know this, but the ancient Egyptians had a very sophisticated approach to taking care of people in their old age. They taxed workers when they were young, and kept the taxes in the Pyramids for safekeeping. When they were too old to work, each generation could be supported by those currently working.
That’s why Social Security is known as a pyramid scheme.
Why build a pyramid shaped tomb? One I could see,but why several? They are so similar to the temples in South America and Mexico.
I don’t think they are granaries, as you said nowhere near enough storage space.
I hate to think of what explaination he would come up with about Gobleki Tepe..or however it is spelled. That one is 10 to 15 thousand years old and NOBODY knows what the heck it was about.
The white man musta stole all the grain in there.
The dynasty that built the pyramids at Giza had earlier tried to make pyramids almost as tall but had failed with one collapsing and another having to be shortened into a “bent pyramid” shape. Replacing some of the limestone with sand, that I presume it was less dense, would let them save weight and time in construction. Why this particular mixture of sand I cannot guess.
There you go. I hate to admit it but this is spooky if he really believes this. Joseph saved the sorry Egyptian’s arses, but there are as has been said earlier in this thread pre Joseph pyramids with mummies inside. Any grain was on the form of bread, cause dead gotta eat on their journey to the hereafter. That was the Egyptian belief.
Carson doesn’t have the skill set to be POTUS.
He would be better off writing books and going on tour .
I was there. I know the true purpose. It was built as a television tower.
He should have consulted with his experts in Egyptology and archaeology and looked at the focus groups before answering that question.
“Just watched the video...
So the Egyptians, and Joseph, were the original preppers? Gee.”
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
As in most cases, the book is better than the movie:

Small and why bury it so far inside? You would think maybe a large square or round structure would hold more grain?
It is his own "personal" theory. I have always found that some of the most ignorant people on the planet are "experts". If you don't believe me, then explain the global warming hoax.
Yeah, someone with his intelligence who swallows such nonsense uncritically doesn’t belong in the Oval office.
The SDA’s are supposed to be very literal in their reading of the Bible. There is nothing in the Bible about the grain being stored in the pyramids. In fact in Gen 41:
46 Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from Pharaohâs presence and traveled throughout Egypt. 47 During the seven years of abundance the land produced plentifully. 48 Joseph collected all the food produced in those seven years of abundance in Egypt and stored it in the cities. In each city he put the food grown in the fields surrounding it. 49 Joseph stored up huge quantities of grain, like the sand of the sea; it was so much that he stopped keeping records because it was beyond measure.
So, in fact, Carson is either dead wrong about the pyramids, or he is weak in his SDA faith.
Anyone who pushes on this can devastate Carson.
Oh, do go there, Dr. Carson. That is a subject I was just taking up with my hamster, Gladys, while she was working out on her exercise wheel.
The two of us were thinking the pyramid structures would serve as useful Department of Homeland Security shelters from desert flooding and such, as well as storage for various medications, tranquilizers, pot, etc.
What do you think, Ben? Ben? BEN? Are you awake, Ben.
Well, Gladys, I think he will move on to something else, now, but it’s time for you to take your Natural Food supplements and get off that wheel.
This sounds like his religious belief. Someone will correct me if I’m wrong, but this may be an Evangelical or Creationist belief. (?)

Good find of grain storage rooms inside the Pyramids /S
He’s way above any career politicians. All the successful. life saving surgeries testify to that.
He will not be the nominee.
