Pope Francis marked the 50th anniversary of the turning point in the Catholic Churchâs relations with Jews on Wednesday with a sharp condemnation of anti-Semitism, saying attacks on Israelâs right to exist were a form of hatred.
âTo attack Jews is anti-Semitism, but an outright attack on the State of Israel is also anti-Semitism,â Francis told a delegation from the World Jewish Congress (WJC). âThere may be political disagreements between governments and on political issues, but the State of Israel has every right to exist in safety and prosperity.â

The Pope is a bit mixed up.
The Vatican usually calls the State of Israel, “Terra Sancta”, the Holy Land and thereby kind of skirts by that uncomfortable argument of really recognizing that the Jews have returned to their ancestral homeland as promised in the Torah (Old Testament).
The Vatican embraces the PLO narrative about what transpired in that region and who deserves what.
The Pope can say all he wants about Antisemitism and that is OK but he neglects to mention today's main manifestation of the Jews, namely, Israel. So, in a way, it's OK to be ANTI-ZIONIST but not Antisemitic. See the difference? There is none...thanks anyway Holy Father...

“And God the Father said to Abraham, I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you”
Saying that a group of people have no right to exist sounds like a curse to me.

Fantastic. This is a big deal. Lots of Israelis are Christian Arabs, and they were worse than Muslim Arabs in some ways (see Sirhan Sirhan for example). They’ve come around in the last 20 years and are among our best citizens.

Wonder if that extends to Israel's right to have their capital in Jerusalem? That would represent a significant policy change.

The Pope’s comments have obviously been mistranslated / misunderstood / misrepresented by the MSM that hates The Church.

Before Israel was founded the Christians among the Palestinian Arabs numbered 15%..even a bit more if IIRC. George Habash and other Christians were big in the PLO and other liberation fronts.
With the 1948 war and founding of Israel the Christian Palestinians had the same anger and grievances the Muslim ones did. So of course they were anti-Israel and anti-Semitic like the Muslims
This percentage is down to what? 5% or less these days due to explosive Muslim birthrates and Christian Palestinians immigrating to Europe and America. Same as what happened in Lebanon which was heavily Christian until 30 years ago.
Islamic crap and cruelty has rubbed off on other Christians too. Such as Spain where it is speculated that the cruelty of the Conquistadors was something they got from the Muslim occupiers of Spain.

You’re correct, of course.
There has been a sea-change, recently among Christian Arab Israelis, largely I think because of persecution by Muslim Arabs and acceptance by Jewish people.
For example, they demanded the obligation to be drafted to the IDF, like the Druze.
And they’ve done well in other ways. For example, Christian Arabs are the most educated and wealthiest Israelis as a group.
