DOVER, Del. (AP) - The state of Delaware is working to set up a task force to help residents with a hoarding problem.
As many as 45,000 people in the state are estimated to have problems with hoarding.
In advance of the hoarding task force, the state is creating an advisory panel to try to determine stakeholders who may be able to offer input into hoarding issues.

>> Generally, those people lived through the Great Depression and remember having absolutely nothing. Since then they have saved everything for the next time they will have to make do because of government caused depression & famine.
That’s my late father to a “T”. BREAD sacks! Boxes of them, all neatly rolled and tied. Among other things.
I like New Hampshire’s motto on license plates the best. “Live Free Or Die” - made by prison inmates.
Will they enter Joe Biden’s house a decade from now to find him buried in old campaign posters and paper cups from 7-11?
Usually there are definite signs ot hoarding, goods or animals. Visiting friends and children can’t walk through the house, bathrooms and kitchens are unusable. Animals from the house are a nuisance to the neighborhood. Odors, clutter, squalor.
But if they can’t show these things, here’s one more thing to acquire:
A sign to hang in your foyer that reads: “Come Back With A Warrant.”
Hoarders don’t just effect themselves. Their homes become filthy breeding grounds for all kinds of unpleasantness (rats, roaches, mold), they tend to stink up a neighborhood, and they rot out the property.
“Is this hording as in...”
“What difference, at this point, does it make...?”
Seriously though, this is just one more way to classify a whole raft of people as mentally deficient...and in need of govt monitoring. If “preppers” fall into that lot...oh well.
Are you kidding? It’s on TV. It’s a popular show. It’s trending everywhere. Everyone is talking about it.
We have to get involved. IT’S ON TV!!

I know, right? So why don’t those two picker guys make a note to follow up on that location in a year or two after the crazy hoarder type person passes on?
The relatives would PAY THEM to haul away that “junk”.
You got more than 2 boxes of hunting ammo? You’re a hoarder! We need to inspect your property now! Don’t lie! We have the credit card receipts and the video from the sporting goods store. Do you have a dog?
That was my first thought on this.
Where is that line between “hoarding” and “prepping”?
Yeah, I’ve seen the houses of the mentally ill with jars of feces, dead animals, and other health hazards piled up.
How much you wanna bet the line won’t be drawn anywhere near there?
Leftists have a visceral HATRED for “preppers”.
I’ve concluded from interviews with libs that it’s all about their “eschatology” of a crashed society. They’ll deny that we’re headed there, but at the same time, they’ll imply that it will be “better” after the crash, because...
“we’ll all be in the same boat”.
Somehow, that’s good. That’s utopia.
And... you... you... [spit] “preppers” are going to try to avoid being in the same boat as the rest of us! How DARE you!
Hoarding will be illegal, especially for things made of lead and brass.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,that stuff is dangerous, you know...............
Delaware USED to be a wonderful place to live. I visit frequently, but most of what caused me to fall in love with Delaware when I first moved there in ‘82 is long gone - most especially a much smaller government control.
