I’ve concluded from interviews with libs that it’s all about their “eschatology” of a crashed society. They’ll deny that we’re headed there, but at the same time, they’ll imply that it will be “better” after the crash, because...

“we’ll all be in the same boat”.

Somehow, that’s good. That’s utopia.

And... you... you... [spit] “preppers” are going to try to avoid being in the same boat as the rest of us! How DARE you!

Leftists have a visceral HATRED for “preppers”.
But when Pres Reagan was in office many of these same leftists were part of the survivalist movement, setting up well-stocked and WELL-ARMED communes in remote areas out west, mainly because they viewed Reagan as a "doddering old man with his finger on the button." Funny how they don't have that same level of paranoia now that Iraq is fast-tracking their nuke program.
