Mysterious Group Buys Building Next to Ground Zero For Mosque Wednesday, December 16, 2009 Jim Hoft
A mysterous Muslim group with unknown sponsors has purchased a building steps away from Ground Zero. Hudson New York reported:
An identified group with unknown sponsors has purchased building steps away from where the WorldTrade Center once stood to turn it into potentially one of the largest New York City mosques.
At the moment the building, the old Burlington Coat Factory, already serves as a mini-mosque: an iron grill lifts every Friday afternoon for a little known Imam leading prayers a few yards away from where Osama Bin Ladens airborne Islamist bombers killed nearly 3000 people back in 2001.
The Imam, Feisal Abdul Rauf, told the New York Times which put the story on its front page Wednesday that he has assembled several million dollars to turn it into an Islamic center near the citys most hallowed piece of land that would stand as one of ground zeros more unexpected and striking neighbors.
The 61-year-old Imam said he paid $4.85 million for it in cash, records show. With 50,000 square feet of air rights and enough financing, he plans an ambitious project of $150 million, he said, akin to the Chautauqua Institution, the 92 Street Y or the Jewish Community Center.

I never saw that body impact photo before.
This story makes me sick.
Rudy would never have allowed this...Bloomberg...thanks for lookin out for us.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Soros and Michael Ratner are involved with this Imam... they wanted to build the shrine to to the whore of political correctness at Ground Zero before:
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 : (9/11 ATTACKS— See GROUND ZERO “BLAME AMERICA FIRST PC MEMORIAL” & RATNER FAMILY {see CCR* [See SAMI AL ARIAN]}) And this is the same clan [RATNER FAMILY] who wants to build the ‘Blame America First Memorial Museum” at Ground Zero.

2001 LATE : (MICHAEL RATNER LOOKING TO CAPITALIZE ON 9/11 AFTERMATH—see CCR {see SAMI AL ARIAN}) The fight to liberate Guantanamo prison
As the wreckage of the Twin Towers was still smoldering, Michael Ratner began planning his attack on Americas post-9/11 defense strategy. Realizing that it would take major legal clout to seriously subvert the War on Terror, Ratner began taking steps to attract major U.S law firms to his cause. First, he adopted a high public profile against the Bush administrations reaction to 9/11 by savaging every facet of its plan to protect the U.S. from future attack. Working the civil liberties angle for all its worth, Ratner raged at the Patriot Act, railed against profiling techniques designed to ferret out Islamic terrorists in our midst, and opposed invading Afghanistan to hunt down and capture Osama bin Laden and his Taliban henchmen.
The mainstream press assisted Ratner by promoting him as a champion of civil rights while carefully hiding his lifelong radicalims from the American public (see below). -——— “The man behind the attack on Guantanamo,” (traitorous b*st*rd Michael Ratner) , By Rocco DiPippo, FrontPageMagazine.com, front page mag , June 16, 2005
That should be in the public title records. This story should be considered suspect until the name of the seller is published.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Doesn't seem to be anything mysterious about it. Jihadists are laughing their *ss off from Arabia to Iran to Afghanistan to Pakistan. They think we're selling, more accurately giving, them the rope to hang us. Time will tell.
She was probably “encouraged” to reduce the price 13M. How else do you go from $18M to under 5?
I wonder how many jobs this will save or create?
Hey Guy...thx for the ping.
This is astonishing but, unfortunately not completely shocking.
Just a suggestion, I don’t know what your line of work is but you might consider to moving to the midwest in the interest of survival. Cost of living is pretty good (don’t know how long that will last though, with the spendfest going on). And there’s more of ‘us’ then ‘them’. Bring your family to a safer place.
Housing is cheap (way cheaper than NY).
With no bank check records, how do we know this story is real? The blog reports are sketchy and do not name the seller.
Wonder if this guy is involved- the jackarse who just after 9/11 tried to give NY the snarky conditional check that Guiliani rejected:
* ALWALEED BIN TALAL BIN ABDUL AZIZ AL SAUD, THE GUY WHOSE SNARKY POST-9/11 DONATION WAS REJECTED BY NY MAYOR RUDY GUILIANI; BIN TALAL EMPLOYS AS AN AIDE AN OBAMA SUPPORTER BY THE NAME OF DON WARDEN aka KHALID ABDULLAH TARIQ AL-MANSOUR [OBAMA SUPPORTER, ADVISOR TO BLACK PANTHER PARTY FOUNDERS HUEY NEWTON AND BOBBY SEALE]
* ALWALEED BIN TALAL BIN ABDUL AZIZ AL SAUD: “ A renowned philanthropist, the prince has made two donations of £10 million to establish Islamic studies centres at Harvard University, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Georgetown, in Washington. He also gave £10 million to fund an Islamic art wing at the Louvre Museum in Paris.”
may we never forget...
Gosh, it sounds like it might have been some Moslems. Got a bargain on the site, too. And paid cash. Probably no foreign money involved at all. /s /s /s
Thanks hennie pennie.
Who sold them the property?
This attacks the Jews,Christians and all freedon loving American citizens that radical Islam wants wiped off the face of this earth. They make a in your face statement to us all.
Political correctness and Obama’s muslim religion will allow this travesty to happen in New York where people have been devastated by the radicals of this religion. Think about this, if they really did not like what happened 9/11, would they build right there? If they had any common decency they would not.
Or is this a slight of hand trick they will use during the KSM trials?
Check tax, insurance, and permit offices to see who is behind this purchase.
This little mullah got the money from somewhere. Might be worth a grand jury look-see, eh?
You’re reading my mind on that one. I totally agree.
