UNREAL. Obama May Allow US Soldiers to be Tried in the Hague

Unreal. Team Obama may allow US soldiers to be tried in the Hague for war crimes. The Wall Street Journal reported, via Jihad Watch:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed “great regret” in August that the U.S. is not a signatory to the International Criminal Court (ICC). This has fueled speculation that the Obama administration may reverse another Bush policy and sign up for what could lead to the trial of Americans for war crimes in The Hague.

The ICC’s chief prosecutor, though, has no intention of waiting for Washington to submit to the court’s authority. Luis Moreno Ocampo says he already has jurisdiction—at least with respect to Afghanistan.

Because Kabul in 2003 ratified the Rome Statute—the ICC’s founding treaty—all soldiers on Afghan territory, even those from nontreaty countries, fall under the ICC’s oversight, Mr. Ocampo told me. And the chief prosecutor says he is already conducting a “preliminary examination” into whether NATO troops, including American soldiers, fighting the Taliban may have to be put in the dock.

“We have to check if crimes against humanity, war crimes or genocide have been committed in Afghanistan,” Mr. Ocampo told me. “There are serious allegations against the Taliban and al Qaeda and serious allegations about warlords, even against some who are connected with members of the government.” Taking up his inquiry of Allied soldiers, he added, “there are different reports about problems with bombings and there are also allegations about torture.”

It was clear who the targets of these particular inquiries are but the chief prosecutor shied away from spelling it out.

Asked repeatedly whether the examination of bombings and torture allegations refers to NATO and U.S. soldiers, Mr. Ocampo finally stated that “we are investigating whoever commits war crimes, including the group you mentioned.”

Believe me when I say I deeply respect and appreciate your perspective and input. What I am saying is this: Let’s take all this energy we are wasting on hand-wringing and actually do something productive with it. Optimism is mere dreaming if it isn’t converted to positive action. Pessimism is worse, because it drain off the energy needed to take any action at all, which is precisely why our adversary wants us to wring our hands and do nothing. I agree that the tea parties are certainly not a solution in themselves, but they do foster relationships and help generate the necessary belief that something can be done. If you believe nothing can be done, you will not act. If you believe that something can be done, and that it is worth doing, and if there are many others like you, you prevent your opponent from ever gaining a permanent foothold.

Therefore, this is as much a mental game as physical. It is true we have surrendered too much territory already. But we cannot use that as an excuse to surrender more, to let go of our belief in what is good about America. It is the one thing that keeps our opponent awake at night. The physical instrumentalities of this political conflict are essential neutral. Both sides have access to them. It is the sheer determination of will, the skillful use of intellect, and the undeserved favor of God upon which the outcome of this conflict depends. If it were not so, why would our adversary work so hard at convincing us that “resistance is futile?” Others may go quietly into that Borg-like matrix if they wish. We will not go there, either in mind, body, or spirit. Our opponent may pound sand. We are free, and will live and die as free people, God helping us.

Folks are NOT happy AT ALL with this Kenyan clown. This chain-smoking moron’s fooling with nuclear power, here, and he’s — as freakin’ usual — TOTALLY clueless.

People have been sucking up guns and ammo in this country for several years, with no end in sight.

There is a growing, dull rumble of anger emanating from sectors of this populace who almost NEVER hit the streets to make any noise at all. The calm, cool, and collected folks who go about their business, and have chosen the ballot box as their weapon of choice against the slings and arrows of abusive government.

These people are now coming to realize that their chosen weapon has been rendered impotent; that they are increasingly without voice, without representation, and without any influence whatsoever in the halls of government.

Were it the case that these people were some splinter group advocating fringe lunacy, some nefarious policies, or some wholly anti-American ideals, their angst would be of little concern to Main Street America. But this is NOT the case. No, it is, in plain fact, all of Main Street America whose ire has been roused, whose consternation has been stirred up by the onslaught of unamericanism being perpetrated and promoted by the Imposter-in-Chief and his craven minions.

With ALL of this going on, I have been asked on more than one occasion, “What will be ‘the trigger’?” The obvious implication being the correct one: what event, or what condition will be “the last straw” that will set loose this righteous people to unleash their pent-up wrath upon the officials and institutions that have become their abusers?

“We, the People,” have proven MASSIVELY patient, among all mankind, none have EVER — in all human history — so patiently tolerated the abuses of their own government so nobly as have The American People. Our status as a longsuffering citizenry is legendary; witness our willingness to choose the pen over the sword time after time, after time, after time, after time, after time, after time — and this is the error in the calculus of our abusers: they believe it will go on forever.

THEY ARE IN FOR A NASTY SURPRISE, BECAUSE IT WILL NOT.

And the time of that end has come; it is at the very door of history.

There is no more revered class of persons in America than her warriors; her military personnel. There is no class of persons in America for whom the average man-on-the-street will more readily, or more immediately, inconvenience himself than the American GI.

The American GI has been the anvil of victory in Europe, in The Pacific, in Iraq; around the world America’s fighting forces have hammered out the foundations of freedom in numberless battles, in nameless foreign fields, hills, and forests, and — for the cause of freedom — given their all, and then some.

IF THIS ADMINISTRATION — OR ANY ADMINISTRATION — DARES EXPOSE EVEN THE LEAST AMONG THESE HALLOWED AMERICANS TO THE ABUSES OF THE ICC, THIS FOREIGN MOCKERY OF A “COURT”; IF THAT ACT IS NOT “THE TRIGGER” THEN THERE IS NO TRIGGER, AND AMREICA IS TRULY DEAD.

IF, HOWEVER, THE PEOPLE WILL NOT SEE AMERICA DECLARED DEAD, THEN LET THAT ACT BE “THE TRIGGER” THAT SETS AMERICA LOOSE AGAINST HERE NOW-VILE GOVERNMENT. LET MAIN STREET, USA RING WITH THE CRY “HAVOC!!!” AND LET SLIP THE DOGS OF WAR!!

You are very right and your writing is beautiful :-)

My main concern though, and that's why I am ..yeling..is that I want to warn American people that we have NO time. I agree also that teaparties are fantastic in teh way that it brings people together and certainly helps spread the word. Which is good.

My deep believe is that Obama was sent by God to wake us up. God knows we are loosing our country and liberty since so many years and that we did not do anything about it.

I am certain that if McCain would have been elected, nobody would have wake up. So that is a good thing in a twisted way. BUT ONLY IF WE LISTEN. I also thing, forgive me if it sounds nuts, that God send us Sarah, the bright light against Obama dark agenda to give us a chance to save the country.

Now the cards are there. It's on us to see the light and thank God for the opportunity to wake us up.

Bottom line is, like my grandmother always said: Help yourselve and God will help you.

If I send my dark warnings, this is to make sure that we don't miss God's help and warning. Because it is a dangerous game. If we recognize that and act accordingly and FAST and effeciently, we may win and even clean above all hopes the mess and dirt of 30 years. But if we don't see the road God's show us NOW, then we will miss it and we will miss it for ever.

And that will be OUR fault! America will not be God's country anymore because we will have let Him down. Islam will win. Sharia will win. Communism will win and that will be too late.

The idea of consigning American troops to foreign courts for phony “war crimes” tribunals is way past worth going to the matteresses over. It should NOT be tolerated. Let’s press the Tea Party movement to get on this, if we can. I wanna be in the streets when the time comes. Hopefully, Sarah Palin will have some remarks on Facebook or in an interview. She’s our leader now. That’s just a fact.

If our soldiers are ever tried in International Court that is the event that I hope would prompt civil war in this country. If any president allows this he should be ousted and charged with treason.

Hopefully it will do wonders for other recruitment as well, to include recruiting candidates against Left senators who were thought to be safe but against the right candidates may be vulnerable. There is a possibility that PA, CN, NY, NJ, MA, AK, CA, UT, TX, FL and OH could all have new senators in 2011 who all are more conservative than those they replaced.

Don’t worry my friend, as someone who comes from a Southern family I can attest that the spirit of rebellion to an odius government is still alive and well. It would be ironic if the South was the region that actually holds the original ideas of freedom in this country. The Midwest and Intermountain West aint bad either.

He has SOME of them. Witness General Jerkoff after the military murders.

By your posts you are apparently unaware of this little thing we do every 2 years, its called an election?

As I said before, if Hussein were to do this the even bigger backlash would make the tsunami in Indonesia look like a splash in a puddle.

As failed as his 1st year has already been, THIS would lead in every district and state for both the House and Senate as the NUMBER 1 issue in the 2010 Election & it would be a referendum on his action of treason first and foremost.

THEN he would be impeached.

Did I spell that out simply enough so that you CAN understand it?

Then we should leave and let them stew in their own sh**hole.

Yesterday while at the local shopping mall I sat down and talked to a lady. She is a retired nurse, discussed with Obama and the direction he is taking the county. She is convinced Obamie the Commie intends to do away with the sick and the elderly.

Did I spell simply enough that you can understand that we may NEVER be able to win another election because of the census and Acorn??? And also because so many RINO's are outthere who still vote with the democrats? They just confirmed a Acorn judge, Sotomayor and one of the worst czar and Graham has no problem to vote for Cape and Trade

So what's your way out of this one?
