Unreal. Team Obama may allow US soldiers to be tried in the Hague for war crimes. The Wall Street Journal reported, via Jihad Watch:
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed “great regret” in August that the U.S. is not a signatory to the International Criminal Court (ICC). This has fueled speculation that the Obama administration may reverse another Bush policy and sign up for what could lead to the trial of Americans for war crimes in The Hague.
The ICC’s chief prosecutor, though, has no intention of waiting for Washington to submit to the court’s authority. Luis Moreno Ocampo says he already has jurisdiction—at least with respect to Afghanistan.
Because Kabul in 2003 ratified the Rome Statute—the ICC’s founding treaty—all soldiers on Afghan territory, even those from nontreaty countries, fall under the ICC’s oversight, Mr. Ocampo told me. And the chief prosecutor says he is already conducting a “preliminary examination” into whether NATO troops, including American soldiers, fighting the Taliban may have to be put in the dock.
“We have to check if crimes against humanity, war crimes or genocide have been committed in Afghanistan,” Mr. Ocampo told me. “There are serious allegations against the Taliban and al Qaeda and serious allegations about warlords, even against some who are connected with members of the government.” Taking up his inquiry of Allied soldiers, he added, “there are different reports about problems with bombings and there are also allegations about torture.”
It was clear who the targets of these particular inquiries are but the chief prosecutor shied away from spelling it out.
Asked repeatedly whether the examination of bombings and torture allegations refers to NATO and U.S. soldiers, Mr. Ocampo finally stated that “we are investigating whoever commits war crimes, including the group you mentioned.”

Suit yourself. Obama got elected because he sold many uniformed voters a phoney bill of goods. Even so, many, many Americans voted against him, nearly half. That number has only grown stronger as the injuries have piled up. We are now the majority.
BTW, I resent being lumped together with the granite counter-top crowd. We don’t live like that. Never have. You only prove by such a statement that your facts are incomplete. Your most important incomplete fact is how many Americans do see what is going on and know how to respond effectively.
But the work of these good, strong, unspoiled Americans is only weakened by despair and defeatism such as yours. Our strength is our ability to fight impossible odds because we don’t believe in impossible odds. They never get us down. God is in His Heaven and on any given day we can win. My dad was Navy. They used to say, “The difficult we do right away; the impossible takes a little longer.” Don’t give up. We need you.
No way! This is treasonous behavior for a Commander in Chief who is “supposed” to back his troops.

I think I remembered that. West Point grads are known to be libs while Citadel and VMA grads are known to be loyal to the Constitution. My cousin is stationed in Sokor and that’s what he told me a year ago, and what a difference.

Lawyers are all about money not liberty. Most of them are Dem/Obama contributors and supporters. They care not what they can do for the Constitution only what twisting it can do for them.(To those few lawyers who are exceptions, sorry, but most of your profession deserves the comment.) Judges are also a big problem. This is not a battle for the court room IMO.
On your point about people being asleep. If you want to get cheered up, go to main stream media web sites that carry articles on BO, Senate, etc. and their current activities. You will be surprised how many people are awake and really p!ssed at all the things you’ve mentioned.
I agree with others here who say the sleeping giant is awake. I also agree that 2010 may be too late. But people are paying attention as never before and may deem it necessary to do more than voice their dissatisfaction via blogs, internet comments and protests.
Well, that’s good news certainly but if they only bitch on blogs that will not help. So now we just need to find a way to stop this administration - another way than teaparties which I hope will grow anyway - but that’s not enough and you noticed that they laugh at us, don’t care and sign the hated law the day after. So we have to find another way that will finally break their game and stop this deadly machine. That’s why I talked about lawyers - no patriotic lawyers around? You are probably right..
We know all that. What we need to know is WHAT TO DO about it. Something which works.
