Twelve people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting spree at a Texas military base by what officials believe was possibly carried out by an Army officer.
The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan.
The shooter was killed and two other suspects, who are also soldiers, have been apprehended, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone said.
The gunman used two handguns, Cone said. He wasn't sure if the shooter reloaded the weapons during the attack.

Lemme tell ya, the whole country is waiting to hear who the shooters are, and if they're A-rab terrorist or local crazies...This is politically huge and if they were foreign terrorist heads are going to roll.

Not so at West Point where I work.
We have to show/use our ID or CAC card at just about every turn...getting through the gate, getting to our parking “lots”...logging on our compters, sending emails, etc
When my family members (Non-DOD) have to travel in the car with me on post, they have to show Identification....and their license bar code gets scanned in a reader ....
I guess the security/screening levels are different at each post.
We are getting to the point that in less than a year we won’t even be allowed to park adjacent to any of the building.

Technically, yes, but not evey unit is a combat arms unit and not every armory has weapons in it. The weapons that are on base are harder to get to than the crown jewels.

Now he clarifies that the FBI said that there is probably "no terrorist nexus" involved.

Not sure where it is located as the post's sirens have stopped and are still silent. Not sure when the shooting at the residence occurred. They seem to indicate that this shooting just happened...
