Breaking: Palin Supports Hoffman
The Weekly Standard ^ | October 22, 2009 08:17 PM | John McCormack

Posted on 10/22/2009 5:47:30 PM PDT by avg_freeper

THE WEEKLY STANDARD just received a statement from Sarah Palin endorsing conservative Doug Hoffman for Congress:

The people of the 23rd Congressional District of New York are ready to shake things up, and Doug Hoffman is coming on strong as Election Day approaches! He needs our help now.

The votes of every member of Congress affect every American, so it's important for all of us to pay attention to this important Congressional campaign in upstate New York. I am very pleased to announce my support for Doug Hoffman in his fight to be the next Representative from New York's 23rd Congressional district. It's my honor to endorse Doug and to do what I can to help him win, including having my political action committee, SarahPAC, donate to his campaign the maximum contribution allowed by law.

Our nation is at a crossroads, and this is once again a "time for choosing."

The federal government borrows, spends, and prints too much money, while our national debt hits a record high. Government is growing while the private sector is shrinking, and unemployment is on the rise. Doug Hoffman is committed to ending the reckless spending in Washington, D.C. and the massive increase in the size and scope of the federal government. He is also fully committed to supporting our men and women in uniform as they seek to honorably complete their missions overseas.

And best of all, Doug Hoffman has not been anointed by any political machine.

Doug Hoffman stands for the principles that all Republicans should share: smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense, and a commitment to individual liberty.

Political parties must stand for something. When Republicans were in the wilderness in the late 1970s, Ronald Reagan knew that the doctrine of "blurring the lines" between parties was not an appropriate way to win elections. Unfortunately, the Republican Party today has decided to choose a candidate that more than blurs the lines, and there is no real difference between the Democrat and the Republican in this race. This is why Doug Hoffman is running on the Conservative Party's ticket.

Republicans and conservatives around the country are sending an important message to the Republican establishment in their outstanding grassroots support for Doug Hoffman: no more politics as usual.

You can help Doug by visiting his official website below and joining me in supporting his campaign:

This statement will be on Palin's Facebook page soon.

Why don’t you help prevent the Democrat from getting elected and call for Scozzafava to withdraw? Why is it never the GOP’s (aka The Stupid Party) fault? How’s the Kool-Aid?

‘It’s about stopping 0bozo’s demented mission to destroy this country. ‘

Then how exactly is getting Owens (Dem) elected going to stop it.

If Hoffman can win then it is great, but history is against him.

"What I’d like to see is a true conservative party that I could join."

Amen to that! I think that the one in NY might be OK, doesn't help in TX.

I was under the impression that there wouldn’t be a runoff. The candidate with the largest percentage of votes wins.

I'd turn round and ask you : “How is getting Scozzafava elected going to stop it?”.
I'd much rather have my clear enemy on the opposite side of me, so I can take aim at him, than my enemy pretending to be on my side, even while working 100% to destroy me.
Scozzafava is such a left wing extremist, she could very well attend highly confidential Republican Party strategy meetings in congress, and pass everything on to Nancy Pelosi for crying out loud. She is as leftist as Nancy Pelosi, and even to the left of 0bama on gay marriage.
Why on earth would you support such a woman?

Republican will vote for Boehner”

Yeah?
And exactly what would that amount to? Squat!
Republicans are not even close to having enough votes to elect the Speaker of the House in this congress. That talking point is irrelevant.

Great, everyone donate to Hoffman, McDonnell running for Gov in Va, and maybe even Christie who I don’t think is that Conservative but I haven’t heard him bashing them either. Corzine, the Governor from Goldman Sachs had Obama in for a fundraiser this week. Corzine normally spends about $70 Million of his vast wealth per campaign, what does he need fundraisers for.

I wish Sarah would cancel her trip on the Oprah show, the lady is going to try to sabotage her. We need FREEPERS in the Chicago area to try to get tickets to the show.

Smart move by Palin. She’s letting her base know that she gets it.

Good for her. This is exactly the type thing she needs to do over the next couple of years, continue to hammer the core values home.

I would like to see her do favors and built chits at home, travel abroad talking to world leaders, and force the Republican party to clean up it’s primary act.

Right now, Hoffman is running 2nd, Scozzofava last.

Who is it that should withdraw from the race?

"I’m contemplating changing my party affiliation to Independent due to the fact that there are way too many RINO’s out there."

Oh, and let the liberals decide the primaries? Real clever end-around on your chalkboard there.

When Gov. Palin was in Kosovo in late June didn’t see meet with the Foreign Min. of Latvia or something like that. Lets not forget all the Counsel General she has meet as well. We people find out the truth they will be flabbergasted by the MSM lies.
